HTC EVO 4G :: Htc Sense FC

I have had a prior issues with HTC Sense(process com.htc.launcher) stopping causing a force close. I dealt with it in the past by removing the battery, I had to do that sometime with winmo, not sure if it is a no no with android but it seem to work. Unfortunately i am having the same issues, but nothing i do seems to help. I changed from a live wp to a static image. Checked out running apps and closed not needed apps. I have no task killer app installed, pretty much back to initial purchase state.

I am looking for a "stock" 2.2 rooted ROM w/ sense to flash. Any ROM with Sense would do actually.
I am currently using CM6 but would like to switch back to Sense without loosing root.
I am aware this has been posted before but could not find one with a good source link for the download.

Whenever I am on my home screen for more than a couple of seconds, the green HTC shows up then I get the loading pop up while my widgets load. then if it stays there for a while again it keeps doing it.

I want to make my EVO run like its stock from HTC. No extra items or anything just android 2.2 and htc sense with 4G and all the rest functional. Is it also possible to do this and receive OTA updates from HTC, or if I go down the path of rooting and roms will i have to manually install any update when it happens. I would love to be able to get the phone as stock as possible and be able to never have to reinstall or manually update/flash/root etc. again.

Ive just discovered that using a wii remote with emulators wont work if you have htc sense, which i was gutted about, but if i flash to a new rom without sense what will i be missing, basically what parts are sense and what aren't?

I flashed Sense-able 3.0 last night and since then I can not make calls every time I open the dialer it flashes a HTC system error and force close I reflashed two times and downloaded it again from gridlocks website and tried it again still.

First, How do you turn off Sense UI (Is it adviseable or not adviseable--I heard a guy griping on Android Central and another guy said, just turn it off --will it look like the Nexus I had?)
Second, I used Qic for a vid call. Great. Then a video message. I realized these messages are "ONLINE" or in my profile for people to watch unless I hit "private" BEFORE the video, correct. Well,the main part, how do i delete videos that were taken? Is it true or are they still working out the details, that Qik users will be charged five dollars thru paypal, not Sprint. I was not told that. I would be upset. I suppose like Telenav, we could take off phone or not use account and not be charged, unlike 4G

I never liked HTC Sense and while for many people this is a plus addition in HTC Evo for others it was just a pure pain and nonfunctional.I am glad that I found this today, a proof that you can turn HTC Sense off and experience HTC Evo in an original Android theme.Now HTC just give me a GSM/WCDMA version of it with Amoled display and I am sold.YouTube - HTC EVO allows you to turn off Sense UI.

In reading some of these wonderful threads that some of you have posted throughout the life of the EVO. I noticed that a few are disappointed (as I) that we may have to wait until the end of the year for HTC to drop to us their version of Android 2.2 with Sense UI. Now in looking through the excellent Post Your Screen thread, I've noticed a few screens that are quite astounding, not (only) for their images but for the alternatives to the Sense UI. Now my dilemma is that I like Sense UI, but I know it slows down the EVO, plus, I rather not wait till till December for the HTC Sense UI/Froyo 2.2 version. So I'll probably get the cyanogen rom (once he completes it) and install any alternative that gives me the same feel as Sense but not have to wait so long. So instead of hijacking that thread, lets start one that will outline the alternatives to the HTC Sense UI. This way, if anyone else likes the Sense UI but can't wait that long, at least they can see in this thread the alternatives. These are the HTC Sense UI widgets (so far I've seen, although there may be more)....

I had stock for quite a while and got tired of it. I then went to use Fresh which I liked it but seemed to slow down the phone a little with all the sense crap on it. I am now using Cyanogenmod 6 and so far I love it. I was just wondering which other rom's out there don't use sense UI, also which rom works best on the htc evo and or which kernel. I am simply using the stock 1500mah battery but am really thinking about buying those battery's on ebay 3500mah ones.

I turned off Sense thinking I'd be able to get the "Swipe right for unlock, swipe left for Silent" unlock screen but I'm still stuck with the pull-down unlock.
How do I get the Sense UI back?

Is the 4g widget only available in Sense? I'm running Fresh 0.3 with Launcher Pro, and I can't find the 4g widget anywhere (same deal with Bugless Beast and DC3.0).

HTC Sense keeps force closing on my EVO. I have turned the phone off and back on and the same happens. If I switch to a HTC scene, as opposed to a Custom scene, it works fine for awhile. I had it working almost a whole day, but HTC sense starting force closing again, once it starts, it keeps doing it, until you change HTC scenes again. If you change to a custom scene, the force close continues. I disabled HTC sense. Now I can't turn HTC sense back on, but I don't really want to if I am going to keep having the same issue.
For now I need to know if anyone else is having HTC Sense force close on them, and if there is a fix, or if it is known what is causing it. I will worry about how to turn it back after I find out why it's doing it and can fix it. I did a search for HTC Sense force closes and could not find anything, so I started this thread.

I've been using the Cyanogen 6.0 Rom for like 2 weeks and really like it. Besides the random reboots which I now notice after flashing stable 6.0. I really like this rom but they just uncapped 4G in Boston and would love to have it as part of my rom. I've got accustomed to not having HTC sense and don't really wanna go back(though if I have to for 4G, I will). Any good roms without sense that have 4G Enable? If not then any great stock Froyo roms that has everything working and is fast as Cyanogen?

Re-enable HTC Sense? I accidentally disabled HTC Sense and now I can't get back to it to enable it! I accidentally put AWD Launcher as my default.

I had Launcher pro on there , but as much as a liked it , it wasn't as snappy as id liked it too be . But now that i have gone back to sense , hitting home restarts sense reloading all of my widgets for about 20-30 sec.

I recently rooted my phone and successfully flashed the CM6 ROM. I tried going back to sense (froyo 2.2) for 4G, and I believe my backup was corrupted or I did not back up correctly. What is the best way (if possible) to revert my phone back to the way it was? I would eventually like to get to the point where I could go back and forth when I wanted using ROM manager.

I have no idea how I managed this, but Facebook for HTC Sense isn't showing up anywhere and I wanted to sync my contacts and photos.I've been using the regular Facebook app and not the Sense version because I lost it somewhere along the way.I don't know if I can reinstall or if it's hiding somewhere.It does show up in "all applications", but it's not there in the "accounts and sync" menu.It also doesn't show up in my Fb Applications account when I log on through a computer.It only shows "Facebook for Android."I can't access an icon, I can't seem to access it at all.I don't think this is Froyo specific because I've had this issue since I got this phone (the week it came out).Anyone have any idea, short of factory reset, how to fix this?

Just put the newest version of fresh on my phone. I cannot figure out how to set launcher pro as default instead of sense. Dec says launcher is on the Rom but when I open launcher I see it , then hit the home button and it goesback to sense. Is there a way to set it as default?

I managed to turn off my defaults in htc sense, and i cant seem to set up the defaults again settings/manage applications/htc sense. i was reading a post about turning off sense, and having the option of having the nexus one default screens, but it didn't quite work out the way i wanted, so i want to have the sense defaults set back on. the button is currently greyed out, and stuff like my phone screen, wont auto rotate, when viewing web pages.

It seems that with the cancellation of the N1 on both Verizon and Sprint, I lost my last best hope for an unadulterated Android platform. I honestly don't want Sense UI or any other proprietary UI. And at least on the Incredible (and presumably the EVO), its impossible to turn it off.
