I did the OTA update, then used Unrevoked, and seem to have gotten root. But when I went to flash a ROM with ROM Manager, I selected "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery", confirmed my phone model, and then it told me an error occurred while flashing the recovery, without any more details.Anyone know an alternate method for getting another ROM on the Evo, post-OTA with Unrevoked?

I rooted with the 2.2 unrevoked forever method. I installed the fresh custom ROM and ROM manager, but when I try to use ROM manager, it tells me that I have to have Clockwork Recovery installed.

I kind of figured ROM manager was a clockwork thing but after I flashed the latest MIUI build and the English pack #2 it started to boot into Amons recovery instead of clockwork. And yes I didn't change my recovery to Amoni it even said on the program that clockwork. 2. 5. 0. 1 was my recovery. But that wasnt the worst part. Now when I try to flash one of my other Rom backups it says Rom manager has superuser permissions but then it just sits there. I finally was able to get into clockwork... did a backup via My backup pro, but I couldn't do a restore of one of my saved Roms manually it gives a MD 5 or a MIDI 5 mistake something like that.

Looked on this site and a few others. I cant upgrade to CM 6.1 due to google addon not dl via rom manager. I also can not find a working link to DL Google Addon: HDPI-20101025. Also I already have 6.0. Hope this is enough info.

I am using ROM manager. I am using a stock 2.2 after update. I rooted with unrevoked. So, I am trying to back this up. When I choose a name for it, it turns into the dreaded white EVO 4G screen and never does anything until I pull battery, and reboot the phone.I guess it's safe to say this is not going to work and I have to manually do the backup, etc? With all those steps. You see, what I want to do is put Fresh on my EVO ...dab a little in custom ROMS.

I have been trying to install a custom ROM on my N1 using ROM manager. I have been PM'ing with Rusty! all morning and he has given me a lot of help (props to him). The issue that I am having is that when I try to install the ROM it goes through the back up portion of it but when it goes to apply the .zip file it says it's no good.More specifically I am trying to install this ROM (Talderon recommended it, props to him also):
[ROM] FRF91/FRG83 Stock, Deodexed, rooted, busybox, battery %, TB alert/wake 9/24/10 - xda-developers
I am trying to install the FRF91 Black bar version. I downloaded it, put it at the root fold on my sdcard, opened ROM manager, clicked install from sd card and it goes through some stuff on the screen then tells me it aborts the install and leaves me with a clean slate of android (I then run the back up on it).I also tried downloading cyanogen mod from ROM manager itself ("Download ROM").Once it downloads the ROM it reboots and leaves me with an android guy with an exclaimation point.Any hints or tips of what I am doing wrong?

I downloaded and installed Android-sdk-r16-windows.zip and JDK-6u31-windows-x64.exe, but the SDK Manager.exe program does not launch.
When I try to launch, a blank window appears for a split second then disappears, with no error messages.
I'm running Windows 7 on an Intel quad-core, and I uninstalled, reinstalled and rebooted several times. I also tried installing Android using Installer_r16-windows.exe and JDK version 6u26, and tried running as administrator, but SDK still won't launch. I haven't loaded Eclipse yet.

1) Instead of using ROM manager/clockwork(?), how can I wipe the cache/dalvik manually? What exactly do I need to do?
2) When I flashed RLS3, I followed the steps in the thread "Rooting for dummies." All went well, except I had to completely set everything back up. Is there a 'magic' button I can push that will restore all my settings after flashing Myn's RLS4?

I've been searching for a bit now but all I can find is the 2.2 leak. that's not all there is right? THere has to be some ROMS that the devs have made for the droid x. has anybody consolidated them in a webpage or a forum thread or something?

I'm looking for an app that will allow entry of custom fields, back-up/synch to somewhere securely, and can export the records to a non-encrypted format (in case i ever change phones).I've had a good look around the Market be can't see anything suitable.

I rooted my phone using the new unrevoked, and then installed the 'Google Apps (froyo)' ROM from the ROM Manager. Clearly this wasn't the right thing to do. So when I restart, it's still sense UI with 2.1. Google apps keeps force closing, preventing me from adding my google account, and in turn having the marketplace. So I have no way of downloading the rom manager and reinstalling my old ROM. I did create a backup ROM. Though if I get the ROM Manager and can install 2.2, I don't see why I would need this. So I guess my trouble stems from the google apps force closing.

Since rooting my Desire using Unrevoked 3.21 yesterday I've downloaded the rom manager from the market.
Having successfully flashed the leedroid 2.1a rom to my phone I then found I needed to partition the sd card for A2SD+
When trying to use rom manager to partition my sd card in preperation for A2SD+, I get a white triangle with an explanation mark in it and the android icon beneath.
With the text,
E:failed to seek in /cache/update.zip (invalid argument)
E:signature verification failed
installation aborted
Then when trying to reboot, the phone was stuck in a boot loop and with a wiped sd card
Managed to get my nandroid backup back on the sdcard and reflash to stock, then when trying to partition again get the same error....thankfully reboot on stock rom works
Any ideas on why my rom manger isn't working?
(I also had a similar error when trying to use the "backup current rom" option)
