I rooted with the 2.2 unrevoked forever method. I installed the fresh custom ROM and ROM manager, but when I try to use ROM manager, it tells me that I have to have Clockwork Recovery installed.
1) Instead of using ROM manager/clockwork(?), how can I wipe the cache/dalvik manually? What exactly do I need to do?
2) When I flashed RLS3, I followed the steps in the thread "Rooting for dummies." All went well, except I had to completely set everything back up. Is there a 'magic' button I can push that will restore all my settings after flashing Myn's RLS4?
Rom Manager won't flash clockwork mod I try to flash it and eventually says program is not responding, same thing happens with the alternate recovery option. What can I do ?
View 3 Replies View RelatedVery simple can we use Koushik's ROM Manager / Clockwork recovery rom to restore past Nandroids created using SPRecovery .0.99.3b? Even if I boot right into the clockwork ROM and perform a restore from the ROM itself like we do with SPRecovery. Or do I have to push SPRecovery back in order to restore my archived ROM's and other dev's ROMs that use SPRecovery.. like Pete, AdamZ, Chevy, etc. I'm sure it's been answered but I also can't be the only one who's unclear.
View 27 Replies View RelatedWhen I select some of the options in Rom Manager, it says I need to install clockwork recovery. I already have clockwork 2.5.0.5 installed.
Does anyone know why it doesn't detect or know about it?
Also, what would happen if I selected to option to install clockwork, even though I already have the latest version flased?
I'm currently running JRummy's Remix - Cyan V0.6 with SPRecovery. I wanna start using ROM Manager, but I can't seem to flash to Clockwork Recovery from inside ROM Manager. Am I doing something wrong? I'm relatively new.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm not really sure how to go about using these now to create a backup and recovery for my phone in case anything ever happens. I have downloaded Droid X bootstrap and ROM Manager so far not really sure where to download Clockwork (if this is even a different app than what I have).Does a tutorial on how to use these things exist anywhere? I did a search on this forum, but it seems like everything is for moderately experienced users.
I just flashed froyo (I9000xxjpm, 2.6.32.9) on my vibrant which is from Bell in Canada. Everything works fine but when I try to reboot into the recovery using Rom Manager, it reboots and tries to install an update.zip file and then it fails with a message of "signature verification failed". I can't install any other update.zip file either. I'd like to have the clockwork recovery back.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was running a custom 2.2 rom with clockwork recovery installed via Rom Manager.
Anyways, I started having a few problems so I was going to take it to stock and redo everything.
I have the stock 2.1 sbf file and I put it back to my phone using RSD lite.
It installed fine except it changed my PRL number to some weird higher number and now I can't get my phone to activate because it has the roaming triangle and is roaming on US Cellular.
I reinstalled my custom rom and used rom manager to restore the image I had saved before I recovered and all is well except I cannot activate my phone because I can't see a verizon network.
I even went into the programming menu and replaced the SID, MDN and MIN with all the settings in my Droid X but no dice.
I have found a way to write a new PRL but I can't get the HW virtual port app to work. So basically I am stuck.
I seem to need this file: www.droidaftermarket.com
which is now a dead link. When I try to "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery" via ROM Manager, it tells me "An error occurred while attempting to run privileged commands."
In the now-defunct IDIOT-PROOF ROOT GUIDE, it says to remedy this by loading the file linked above, but again, a dead link provides no help.
I used Cockwork with UnrEVOked 3.2 and made a nandroid backup. I had to switch to AmonRA to install the new lockscreen for Fresh 3.2
My question is, will I break anything If I switch back to Clockwork? Since that's the format of my backup I currently have, I want to go back.
How to do I switch out of clockwork? I was not using it before, I think it was RA? I tried rom manager and now have clockwork, I would just re-root but I am now on fresh 3.0 and want to use his updater. Any help?

View 9 Replies View Relatedso to start off let me go into detail with my personal experience with the Rom Manager and ClockworkMod applying Velocity .2: After getting my phone up and running with the new Velocity .2 (Don't forget to tell Trident how awesome he is) I decided to get my girlfriends Ally going with it as well. Her Ally had Drellisdee's 1.2.2 Recovery already installed so I tried to apply the ROM via that, I was halted by a signature verification error. No big deal, I just flashed it with ClockWorkMod on my own Ally so I downloaded the RomManager to go about using the other Recovery.
After installing the ROM Manager I tried to flash the recovery, it requested SU Permissions which I allowed then it force closed. I reopened the program then flashed the recovery again with no errors. I then downloaded the Velocity .2 ROM from the manager and attempted to apply. First thing I noticed is the manager did not give me an option to clear Dalvik Cache. I tried to proceed anyway. When the phone rebooted it got stuck on the LG Logo, scary, very scary. I pulled the battery, held SEND MENU END, and again, got stuck at the LG Logo. Pulled the battery again, powered on normally and it booted up (not to recovery though) so I ended up flashing the ClockWork Recovery manually...........
Drellisdee has a post on here that makes it easy just download his recovery and do this. just do steps 4 5 6 and 7 over again. its that easy, but make sure you at least have a copy of the 1.2.2 in both the root of the SD card and the tools folder. and MAKE SURE YOU RENAME FROM 1.13 to 1.2.2
View 20 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to get rid of clockwork recovery mode so that I can recieve the OTA. I've tried the process from the how to unroot by downgrading but when I boot into HBOOT it just goes to the regular screen. My phone is stock except for superuser permissions. I have the stock 1.00.03.04.06 radio. So how do I go about removing clockwork recovery mode so I can update via OTA.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the application ROM manager and then I installed the Clockwork Mod recovery and now I'm hearing that it can end up bricking your phone so I want to know how to get Amon's recovery image back... When I look in the ROM manager application the flash alternate recovery is greyed out so I need another way to do it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy antivirus shows a virus in the clockwork mod but I am not sure whether it is a virus or a program to root the phone. Whether I delete it or keep it. The name of the file is shown as riskware!lotoor.d@android. Is it a part of clock word mod or is it actually a malware.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a couple of nandroid backups from an older version of clockwork recovery mod. The first one is of the official Android 2.1 that came with my Hauawei U8100, and the rest are from a Cynogen ROM of Android 2.3. I recently updated my clockwork recovery mod, and now i can only restore the first backup fully, and the rest can only restore the ROM, but give me a "android_secure.img not found" error, and don't restore data. Is there a way to update the backup to the new version? Is the version upgrade even the problem?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm new to this whole thing but I do have experience flashing other mobile devices in the past. Before I get flamed for this post let me just say that I have been reading possible fixes for this phone for a week straight. I've probably clocked in about 30 hours and I really wanna throw this phone against a wall.So here's the story:I got my Ally a week ago and rooted it using androot and everything went fine. The phone was rooted could install apps using Astro and everything. The problem is that I also wanna overclock this phone because I've read some pretty cool results. So I know I need to load in Velocity (or at least it's the most recommended), so I used ROM manager to install clockwork, tried to boot into the recovery and the phone just stayed stuck on the LG screen.(yes I checked the box to wipe data, cache and make a backup) After doing more research I find out that there is another recovery made by drellisdee and that it is also in rom manager so I try flashing that recovery and the same thing happens I get stuck on the LG screen. (The only way I can get out of this screen is by battery pulling).
After this didn't work I wiped my SD card in hopes of starting over, but when my phone rebooted suddenly now I have no internet access through verizon(still have wifi). So now my so called smart phone has become nothing more than a phone with wifi. I really need some help here, I've genuinely tried fixing it myself but nothing seems to work.I really hope I didn't just ruin my phone. Update: Just tried to make a call with my phone and it forwards me to a verizon wireless thing asking me to put in my credit card to make a collect call. Did I just get banned?
was messing around with framework-res and phone wouldn't reboot so i just thought i'll adb in from recovery and replace with the backup and for some reason i have no adb in recover.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis morning I saw that there was an update to clockwork, version 2.0.0.5. I flashed it and tried to do a rom restore but couldn't get into recovery. I eventually had to flash back to the previous recovery and do the restore.
View 28 Replies View RelatedSo I've been rooted for about 2 weeks now on my new incredible and I have not had any problems so this is just a curiosity question. There is a zip on the base of my SD card named update.zip. Now i think I narrowed it down to the flash clockwork recovery in Rom manager and I was wondering if this file should be there at all times or is i the latest clockwork that keeps getting placed when I activate that flash that doesn't need to be there?
