I normally figure this stuff out very easily on my own but not happening today. I want to have a different notification sound for when I receive an e-mail from a certain person in my contact list. All my email plays the normal GMAIL notification sound. I need this person's incoming messages to play a different special sound.

I have one specific person in my phone, and whenever they text me, it pops up on the screen and stuff, but the phone will not vibrate, will not make the alert noise or anything, Ive tried deleting and reading the contact, i tried making a custom sound for them, etc.. so weird. they aren't on a black list or anything. anyone else have this problem? what do i do?

I can contact them fine when using the desktop interface, but when trying to use any form of mobile platform, whether that be phone or tablet, the app force closes. I've tried wiping the data, uninstalling and reinstalling.

I am not hitting the wrong person since the other person's name is nowhere on the screen. I've had 3 HTC EVO that did the same thing so im assuming this is software issue.

And she can text me, but I can't reply or originate a text.I have deleted her from gmail contacts and phone contacts and re-entered her info fresh several times. Still nothing. I updated to os 2.1, but this happened days after that. Anyone having this issue too? Is it on my end or her end?
View 18 Replies View RelatedJust set my wife up with the new yahoo mail app that came out last week. Very nice that it pushes now. I can't, however, get it to make any notification sounds. She has Zedge for downloading ringtones and notification sounds and her general notification sound is set as a sound from Zedge at this time. Will yahoo only use stock sounds so it doesn't play anything? I do have the box checked to use notification sounds and vibrate in the setting.

If I click on mail and open it up I go to menu Button>more>settings>notifications but all I can do is either turn the notification on or off. I can't set an individual sound for each email acct.

As in, for examply this morning a friend texted me something that was not suppose to go to me, but they typed the message to the person that it should have went to but it did not, is this just a motorola droid problem? because i have not had this problem with my new driod incredible.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using Handcent (recent convert from BB) I have a few shortcuts setup for frequent persons I text but wondered the fastest way to compose a text for a random person in my address book. Here's what I've done:
1. press Handcent
2. press top left icon for new message
3. press + sign
4. scroll list for contact
5. press check mark
6. press check mark to select mobile phone
7. press ok
8. press menu
9. press "end select"
10. compose text.
so, that's nuts. The other way I've tried is:
1.press people shortcut
2. scroll list for contact
3. press contact
4. Look at the 3 entries for "send message" (my example contact) and try and remember which is the cell phone.
5. press send message.
6. compose text
So I guess the second way is better but I'd rather not have to figure which is the cell phone and rather than scrolling to find the name I'd rather type first letters of name.
On the LG Dare when I couldn't pick up my phone and I had to ignore a call after I pressed ignore it gave me the option to send a quick text which was a presaved text message to the person who was calling me. Can the incredible do this? Or there an app that can?

When I do, it will show the person's name and phone number more than 20+ times! It's actually doing this for every contact I have, but only when I'm searching for a name when I'm trying to send a text message.
It doesn't affect my sending or receiving of messages, but it's a little annoying.
Just noticed that when I click on the "People" icon from home screen that some of my contact names are listed more than a dozen times!
I have a Galaxy Note 2. I use the Yahoo Email app and want to select a cool ringtone for my email sounds but can't because the app only recognizes only the installed system sounds.
So who knows to get this app to play whatever ringtone you want?
Since I got the original 2.2 update for my Droid, whenever I get a new text message and slide down the notification bar and select the new message, it takes me to the main text message window rather than the actual thread to reply to the person. It is really annoying because it requires an extra step. I figured it would be fixed with the second 2.2 update but it didn't. I called Verizon and they called Motorola and nobody knew of the problem so they shipped me out a new phone and it still does it! I am not sure if I am the only one experiencing this or if its normal. It doesn't do it 100% of the time but closer to 90% probably.

If I happen to get a notification sound, it is the default notification sound I set for my emails, et cetera. I use Handcent and have from the beginning. I set, reset, and reset my Handcent notification sound to be "pixie dust" but like I said, I'm not getting any notification sounds for my texts. Is anyone else having this issue on Nonsensikal? I didn't have this issue with version 12.5. Any advice, tips, or suggestions would be helpful.

Also I fixed my numbers not coming up in my gmail contacts sync last night. Now the phone wont recognize my gmail contacts. I made sure all sync settings were turned on. Anyone know how to fix this. Search the forums and went to manage applications and cleared all google apps still no go.

I'm trying to set custom text sounds with Ringdroid, but I'm having an issue. When I create the file, it shows up if I want to set it as the default for all text messages. However, when I go to choose it for a specific contact, the file doesn't show up.
