HTC EVO 4G :: How To Get Flashed On Phone?
Oct 20, 2010Just saw a new video of windows phone 7. Looks pretty interesting. Any future (much later) hopes of getting that flashed on the evo? Or should I just be happy with android?

Well I was really excited about rooting my phone, I flashed a ROM before backing up the stock ROM. Now when I turn on the phone it just loops the boot screen?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just got my hands on the ever so lovely HTC incredible and flashed it to cricket. However I'm having a few issues with getting my gps, mms, apps and getting my data connection to stop going on and off. I followed the walkthroughs for both the HTC Eris/hero and the Motorola Droid, course respecting the aspects of Motorola that won't work on an HTC. I've gotten the web running with the issue of it periodically goin in and out. As for mms, gps and apps....sadly they're a no go. If anyone has any ideas or can help it would be greatly appreciated.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIs there anybody here with a Froyo Rom flashed on their phone? Flash 10.1 is out in the market and I would love to know how well it works. I have been running Froyo for a couple of days but rolled back this morning. I just can't face going back without good reason.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have rooted and then updated to stock HTC (unbranded) froyo so I have HBOOT-0.92.0001. My phone keeps rebooting under load and it seems to be a hardware problem so I need to return it. Is there any easy way to return to the carriers official firmware so they don't refuse a warranty return?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI mentioned this in another thread, but I thought I'd start a new thread for this problem. I have a Droid I need to send back to Verizon, so I want to get it back to stock. It had been running CyanogenMod, so I wanted to flash the 2.0.1 SBF. For some unknown reason, I flashed it with SPRecovery again. I waited for that to finish and then flashed the 2.0.1 SBF like I originally had meant to.It seems to be running 2.0.1 just fine, but it will not download the 2.1 update. I get a notification that says 2.1 is available. I hit the Download button and it acts as if it is starting the download, but then it goes back to the screen that says 2.1 is available. It never downloads the update.I really want to get this to a stock 2.1 before I send it back.Any thoughts?
View 6 Replies View RelatedFirst of all I have a Droid X flashed to Cricket. All was well including 3g internet. That is until last week when I decided to upgrade to 2.2.I lost the internet.Went back to where I had it flashed. He had to wipe the phone and reflash it.This included him pushing the file to the phone that gives me internet. The phone worked the rest of that day. Then the next morning the phone kept locking up.I took it back to him again, he wiped it reflashed it and pushed the file again with the same result of it locking up.We found that it was the internet file that was locking up the phone. As of right now it is flashed without the internet working. If we push that file to the phone it locks it up. The same file that gave me internet when I was on 2.1.My question is, is there a way for me to be on 2.2 and get the internet on Cricket? Why is this happening? How do I make it work without going back to 2.1

View 14 Replies View RelatedI've flashed different .zip files to my hero, gaps, froyo mms fix, market fix etc. You get the point But I'm wondering how i can view a list of all the things iv flashed. Iv made many changes to my phone and would like to see what is currently flashed to my device. And also i was wondering if there's a way to unflash this stuff and if not what will get rid of it? Because i have no backups. They were all messed up and got deleted
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Issue: HTC Desire is stuck on boot-up screen with Green HTC logo forever.
How it happened: I tried flashing a script using ROM Manager that was supposed to correct some local language settings, over my current rom.
Phone state before action: Worked beautifully using Modaco R8 RC1 ROM. Phone is of course rooted.
Why I can't solve it myself: Well, this is my first serious issue (well, I hope it's not serious, actually!) with phone, which i've had for about a week , so I'm relatively a n00b.
-- I can access Clockworkmod recovery. However, under NANDROID RESTORE there are no files. I have no idea why, because I DID a full nandroid backup before that last install. I have a copy of all the IMG files of the last working setup on my windows machine hard drive, and my assumption now is that maybe I accidentally moved the files to the hard drive after i did that backup, instead of copying them.
Now -
1) Can I somehow restore the phone to a working state without the nandroid backup, using some other function of the CW Mod recovery?
2) Can I somehow connect the phone via USB to the computer and get it to read the Micro SD card so I could maybe move the IMG files I have back to SD Card (using some mounting options)?
3) Anything else I could try?
If nothing else, please just calm me down if you can and let me know the phone is fixable and not bricked because I can access recovery?! That would at least help me go through the night...
last note: Before I flashed the zip, ROM Manager indicated my CW Mod version is 2.0.5.7. Within the recovery itself, it says the version is only 2.0.5.1. Don't know why that is , and if it is important.
I've tried to flash a rom with sp flash tool, and my allview viper (AKA blu life play100, gionee elife e3, or else model) died. nothing appears on the display, even when i put to charging.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter a day of successfully using cyanogen, my phone does not start any more. I have had it charging for a while and nothing happens as I hold the power button. Nothing on screen, no LED, the only LED that is active is the charging white one on the side. I'm so lost and have no idea what to do. Rooted with easy root, if it matters.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo after flashing to the JH2 firmware, I noticed that the battery is reaching high temperatures during voice calls - Before the firmware flash, the phone would not get above 100 degrees during a voice call. After 8 minutes on a voice call, the phone is reaching upwards of 110 degrees.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I had a stock 4.3 ROM, rooted, and wanted to flash recovery.. so I accidentally flashed a N7100 recovery, hence, phone couldn't respond to TOUCH at all.
I flashed different ROMs and PIT files in order to solve this but it only kept getting my phone worse.
I can go to Download Mode now so what do I do?
Just curious to whats going on in the EVO community, as far as who flashed which ROM, and why. Maybe even provide a link to the ROM, or the dev site! That always helps too. So lets start with mine::
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Which custom ROM are you using? (or Stock?)
- Currently running Fresh 0.2 Custom ROM. Loving the speed and nearly bugless experience. Custom navi-bar is a nice feature, but currently running LauncherPro on top of it.
2) Why are you using it?
- Considering its my first real ROM experience, Fresh seems to be the more popular of the bunch. Sticking with it until something else awesome comes out, or maybe this one can just get better. ^_^
3) Pros / Cons?
- PROS - Fast, reliable, nearly no errors, at all. Trust-worthy name in the ROM society. Removes unwanted Apps and bettery life seems pretty fair. Can only get better.
- CONS - Seem to be having trouble changing wallpapers. (getting FC?)
Ridiculously fast and smooth. Noticible difference right from the start. Just needed to share my excitement.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI flashed cm6 today with the 7.6 kernel and whenever I need to reboot, I go in a boot loop, have to run the cm6 nand back up, then it may start.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI rooted with Unrevoked 3.2 but I have not flashed a ROM yet. My biggest concerns are that I will loose everything. If I flash the new OTA ROM, do I loose all my settings, like my gmail accounts, checkbook balances, game scores etc? I did (at least I think I did) and Nandoid backup using ROM Manager, confirmed the filename that I chose was on the SD card. Does that mean that if I boot into recovery mode, I should see the file? And can I boot into recovery to verify that it's there and then back out? Sorry for the noobie questions, searching through the forums (which I did) can be very challenging.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone with Unrevoked 3 and just installed the FPS fix kernal. For those of you who have not done so yet, I strongly urge you to give it a try. The smoothness of the phone after installing the fix is 10 times better. My FPS went from 30 to 50-55 as measured by Fps2D. I will be observing the battery life over the next couple of days to see if there is any impact on the battery life. Now that I have gone this far, I am considering installing a custom ROM. Which ROM's can I install given what I have done so far. As I understand it, by rooting with Unrevoked 3 there will be some that I will not be able to use.

View 13 Replies View Related1. When I open the app drawer and select the Calendar, it open just fine. The moment I "touch" a particular day and try to open that, I get a force close. Anybody else had this happen?
2. How do I change the Lock Screen wallpaper? When I flashed the ROM, the lockscreen inherited my default desktop wallpaper from when I was non-rooted. Like in Sense, I'd like to have a different wallpaper for my desktop vs my lockscreen. Can this be done?
3. I loaded the Droid X keyboard apk file. I takes fine and works after I install it, but once I reboot, I'm back to the base keyboard. Any thoughts on that one?
Is there a way to see what ROM im running? I did install a new ROM but am not 100$ which version I went this. I'm having issues and before seeking help Id like to make sure I post what ROM it is I'm running.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI flashed my first rom yesterday and i was excited because i followed the universal guide for dummies and everything worked
so i downloaded white widow and flashed it
i rebooted it and it seemed to be working except one thing
ALL MY TOUCH SCREEN CAPABILITIES
idk if its because i didnt let it load long enough but i had to do everything by trackball i couldnt even get the lockscreen open so i went back to my root 2.1
This has the best battery life yet on any stock rom or cog i have tried. It is utterly sipping the battery compared to stock and 2.4.1. It is very stable and quick. It also picks up location on weather/time app ultra fast and accurate.
View 49 Replies View RelatedSo I had cog2.3be and i took a back up using rom manager. Than i flashed it to stock, using odin...and flashed perception build 5.
I restored my data using rom manager backup file i had in cog2.3be
my about phone section says
Firmware:2.2
Baseband: 190000UGJK3
Kernel: 2.6.32.9 SetiroNKernel_128_ver#142
Buildnumber: congition.v2..3b6
So i am confused what rom my phone is using. is it still perception or i am flashed back to cog2.3be?
I recently had someone flash my droid to cricket through ebay. My question is, was that a safe thing to do? Is there any scans I can check to make sure its safe?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I did Darchstars "one click" root which I did. I backed up with titanium, wiped back to factory reset settings. Now I downloaded Zen Rom, rebooted, restarted with volume button all that but everytime I check SD card to flash Zen Rom the only thing on SD card is the 1 click root Rom. It says SDcard: rootme.zip only NO ZEN....
Build: Godspeed recovery Darchstar edition. How on earth do I get Zen Rom? What am I doing wrong?
I am running 2.1 rooted and I am trying to flash Fresh's ROM onto my phone. I have put it in the root dir of my SD card. I have renamed it update.zip. When I go into the boot mode and select run update.zip from the menu, it never installs. It always says error. Also, the only choice I have at the boot menu is update. I don't have the choice to choose the zip file I would like to run.
View 6 Replies View RelatedLike the title, I have a HTC Desire with root access (done using unrEVOked), and now I want to do my App2SD+, BUT I don't want to use a custom ROM, unless it is absolutely necessary/benefits outweigh the potential cataclysm that might follow. Or do I really need a custom ROM?
