I flashed my first rom yesterday and i was excited because i followed the universal guide for dummies and everything worked
so i downloaded white widow and flashed it
i rebooted it and it seemed to be working except one thing
ALL MY TOUCH SCREEN CAPABILITIES
idk if its because i didnt let it load long enough but i had to do everything by trackball i couldnt even get the lockscreen open so i went back to my root 2.1

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am not sure if there is a hidden setting somewhere that has been reset or this is a flaw with Evil Eris, but whenever it synches with Exchange 2003 it only downloads 100 emails and stops and says 100/179 and is not showing any emails from the past three days.
Also, a few days ago, it got a synch error and said it was out of disk space and I checked my SD card and saw it was very low so I deleted a bunch of MP3s and freed up 6.5 gigs of space but it still doesn't work.
Are the emails actually saved on the SD card or on the phone? When I have the USB plugged in can I browse to their location?
My send/receive setting are:
Mail size: Entire mail
Download frequency: Every 5 mins
Download past mail: 14 days
Include file attachment: Smaller than 2MB
Reply with original text: Checked
Always BCC me: Unchecked
This is my work email and it's critical that it operates properly when I am on call.

2. How do I change the Lock Screen wallpaper? When I flashed the ROM, the lockscreen inherited my default desktop wallpaper from when I was non-rooted. Like in Sense, I'd like to have a different wallpaper for my desktop vs my lockscreen. Can this be done?
3. I loaded the Droid X keyboard apk file. I takes fine and works after I install it, but once I reboot, I'm back to the base keyboard. Any thoughts on that one?
So I just flashed a new rom and I'm trying to get my xscope bookmarks back. I saved them to my sd card on my last rom but can't figure out how to pull them back off the sd.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo my droid is flashed to cricket, and the oh so anticipated full flash has arrived, ( ) after bringing my droid home several months back, i did a bunch of research, and came to understand that there's two ways to run your phone.
I paid a pretty penny for my droid and wasn't exactly anxious to do anything to the fancy digits inside the phone,..... so my question is, since my phone is flashed, does this mean my phone is already rooted? im a little nervous about doing the whole full flash, since this is a new file they use,(I will be taking it to an "expert") but i've seen so many ads that say "we wont brake your phone like the other guys",....kinda scary statement if you ask me.
So what does this whole flashing thing do to a phone? I dont have any of those rooted things you people talk about, dont know anything about any of that, but im scared its possible these people will somehow ruin my phone.....
I mentioned this in another thread, but I thought I'd start a new thread for this problem. I have a Droid I need to send back to Verizon, so I want to get it back to stock. It had been running CyanogenMod, so I wanted to flash the 2.0.1 SBF. For some unknown reason, I flashed it with SPRecovery again. I waited for that to finish and then flashed the 2.0.1 SBF like I originally had meant to.It seems to be running 2.0.1 just fine, but it will not download the 2.1 update. I get a notification that says 2.1 is available. I hit the Download button and it acts as if it is starting the download, but then it goes back to the screen that says 2.1 is available. It never downloads the update.I really want to get this to a stock 2.1 before I send it back.Any thoughts?
View 6 Replies View RelatedAlright, so I recently purchased the droid and I am looking to put in on Boost CDMA for their unlimited plan.I can pull the PRL off of a boost phone that I am using right now (I think) and have an esn of an old boost phone can I can use for a switch so it is recognized in the database. I own both phones so I don't see any issue with this.My question is; is rooting the phone necessary for this to work. I would think so, but I am not sure. I have seen people flash the droid over to cricket, virgin, page plus, metro pcs, so why not boost mobile?I am just looking for some feedback from people more knowledgeable than me. This is my first android phone, so I am quite ignorant in all things android. I flashed an HTC TP2 over to boost, so I am hoping I can do the same with the droid.

I am running the OTA Froyo update (can't remember the exact firmware off the top of my head) with the 928 Droid X Black Glass theme, so I was deodexed. I followed the instructions, I made a nandroid backup, wiped the cache and data, mounted the cache and data, installed the ROM and tried to reboot, and it poped up to the M.
I waited an hour and a half and it was still stuck like that. I pulled the battery hoping to get back into Clockwork recovery, but not it's still stuck on the M.
First of all I have a Droid X flashed to Cricket.All was well including 3g internet.That is until last week when I decided to upgrade to 2.2.I lost the internet.Went back to where I had it flashed.He had to wipe the phone and reflash it.This included him pushing the file to the phone that gives me internet.The phone worked the rest of that day. Then the next morning the phone kept locking up.I took it back to him again, he wiped it reflashed it and pushed the file again with the same result of it locking up.We found that it was the internet file that was locking up the phone.As of right now it is flashed without the internet working. If we push that file to the phone it locks it up. The same file that gave me internet when I was on 2.1.My question is, is there a way for me to be on 2.2 and get the internet on Cricket?Why is this happening? How do I make it work without going back to 2.1

Nothing on screen, no LED, the only LED that is active is the charging white one on the side. I'm so lost and have no idea what to do. Rooted with easy root, if it matters.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a motorola droid that already been flashed too metropcs but the enternet & my picture messaging don't work any more on my motorola droid rooted 2.1 android they all was working earlier today i deleted a file in my sd memory card (UNDER SYSTEM) by accident using the android mate app an it rebooted my phone and took of my enternet an picture messaging settings by mistake i had too look for a wifi connection to sign in to use my phone again over the wifi connection but the phone still can make calls an regular text but no more mms messaging or internet.
View 7 Replies View RelatedSO the first time I rooted and the first update I did gave me some problems. When the phone rebooted after the flash the Moto symbol would come up and not go any further. Either that or the symbol would show up and then the phone would reset after five seconds. So I did a few battery pulls and finally got it to work after a while. Ever since the 2.0.4 update I cannot get the phone past the Moto screen. I've tried about 12 times between that and 2.0.5 and I have to keep restoring back to my original settings before I flashed any of the ROMs. Anyone know why this is happening? I loved my phone so much more when I had the Smoked Glass 2.1 ROM and OC.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI flashed the 2.2 SBF this morning, mainly because I had some free time and wanted to see if maybe it would alleviate the random reboots I am experiencing.
I have all of my mods back in place. However, the R2D2 boot animation isn't working.
I installed it like I did before, from bootstrap recovery. I did the mod to my build.prop for the sound, just like I had before.
However, I still have the default red eye boot animation - now with the R2D2 sound.
Just curious to whats going on in the EVO community, as far as who flashed which ROM, and why. Maybe even provide a link to the ROM, or the dev site! That always helps too. So lets start with mine::

1) Which custom ROM are you using? (or Stock?)
- Currently running Fresh 0.2 Custom ROM. Loving the speed and nearly bugless experience. Custom navi-bar is a nice feature, but currently running LauncherPro on top of it.
2) Why are you using it?
- Considering its my first real ROM experience, Fresh seems to be the more popular of the bunch. Sticking with it until something else awesome comes out, or maybe this one can just get better. ^_^
3) Pros / Cons?
- PROS - Fast, reliable, nearly no errors, at all. Trust-worthy name in the ROM society. Removes unwanted Apps and bettery life seems pretty fair. Can only get better.
- CONS - Seem to be having trouble changing wallpapers. (getting FC?)
Ridiculously fast and smooth. Noticible difference right from the start. Just needed to share my excitement.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI rooted with Unrevoked 3.2 but I have not flashed a ROM yet. My biggest concerns are that I will loose everything. If I flash the new OTA ROM, do I loose all my settings, like my gmail accounts, checkbook balances, game scores etc? I did (at least I think I did) and Nandoid backup using ROM Manager, confirmed the filename that I chose was on the SD card. Does that mean that if I boot into recovery mode, I should see the file? And can I boot into recovery to verify that it's there and then back out? Sorry for the noobie questions, searching through the forums (which I did) can be very challenging.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone with Unrevoked 3 and just installed the FPS fix kernal. For those of you who have not done so yet, I strongly urge you to give it a try. The smoothness of the phone after installing the fix is 10 times better. My FPS went from 30 to 50-55 as measured by Fps2D. I will be observing the battery life over the next couple of days to see if there is any impact on the battery life. Now that I have gone this far, I am considering installing a custom ROM. Which ROM's can I install given what I have done so far. As I understand it, by rooting with Unrevoked 3 there will be some that I will not be able to use.

So i am confused what rom my phone is using. is it still perception or i am flashed back to cog2.3be?
So I did Darchstars "one click" root which I did. I backed up with titanium, wiped back to factory reset settings. Now I downloaded Zen Rom, rebooted, restarted with volume button all that but everytime I check SD card to flash Zen Rom the only thing on SD card is the 1 click root Rom. It says SDcard: rootme.zip only NO ZEN....
Build: Godspeed recovery Darchstar edition. How on earth do I get Zen Rom? What am I doing wrong?
I just got my hands on the ever so lovely HTC incredible and flashed it to cricket. However I'm having a few issues with getting my gps, mms, apps and getting my data connection to stop going on and off. I followed the walkthroughs for both the HTC Eris/hero and the Motorola Droid, course respecting the aspects of Motorola that won't work on an HTC. I've gotten the web running with the issue of it periodically goin in and out. As for mms, gps and apps....sadly they're a no go. If anyone has any ideas or can help it would be greatly appreciated.
