Jun 30, 2010Does anyone know how to get facebook birthdays on my calender to not show up? I really only want to see what I put on my calender not the birthdays.

HTC Desire :: Facebook Birthdays Now Show In Claendar Even Though Havent Synced Facebook
Nov 4, 2010My 'accounts & sync' settings have always had 'facebook' turned off for syncing, and I have never turned it on. Yet this morning i was playing around with the bit in 'people' to try and see if the facebook bit in there worked and i would be able to link a contact in there with their facebook account. It asked me to log into facebook (after which incidentally it could not then find the contact in facebook lol). After that i went to the calendar and it now shows ALL 2500 facebook contacts birthdays!!
Please tell me there is a way to undo this. at no point did i ever select auto facebook syncing, or choose to import facebook calendar. Obviously now the calendar is pretty unusable as there are multiple bithdays on every day.

Jul 27, 2010I have the EVO and I added the Facebook application. It added every single Facebook friend's birthday. I don't want these on my phone calender and when I go to Menu, there is no Delete option for these birthdays! I can only edit/delete birthday's I added myself on the phone!

Oct 13, 2010As the title says really, as from tomorrow, all my facebook friends birthdays are showing as double, all birthdays pre today are still showing as single.... Now i really do need a fix to this, cos it is gonna cost me a packet if i have to get everyone double gifts and cards.....

HTC Incredible : Way To Show Birthdays In Separate Color?
Jul 27, 2010On the phone it shoes me Holidays with the blue color, and all my other appointments/birthdays with red.
Is there a way to show birthdays in separate color, like orange or yellow? I dont use google contacts birthdays, i just add birthdays into the calendar myself.

Dec 17, 2009My Google Calender is great being a calender but I have added Tasks and they do not show up on my pc desktop and phone on the Calender itself except on their actual Web. I see I can access them seperately by using an App called gtask but wondered if there is a way I can set it up so I can see my events and tasks all together on one calander. Hope this makes sense lol.

Oct 7, 2009So I have all my contacts synced with their Facebook profile. I've ticked to use their profile pic and birthday in their contact info. When I go to any contacts details it has the little blue Facebook F next to their photo and also next to their birthday, so I know that it's all synced.
The one problem I do have is when I go in to my calendar none of the birthdays are listed.
I've gone in to the Calendar menu and checked that I have Contact Birthday and Events calendar ticked and listed.
My Google calendar is showing fine and syncing between the phone and the web.
Is this just some bug where Facebook birthdays don't show up in the Calendar? I know there are other ways around this but it'd be nice if the contact info was used better. I was kind of excited about being able to view my contacts events with the calendar, I could of easily seen what I could and could not attend.
Also an extra note, the Contact Birthday and Event Calendar does have some birthdays in it. It has mine and it also has a friend whose Facebook profile I have not linked.

Oct 12, 2010Since the 2.2 update I have had double Facebook birthdays showing in my calendar. 1 from the old method of posting the URL in google calendars and the other from Facebook under the calendar option. After trying over and over to erase the original way from my phone with no luck, I decided to just delete my Gmail calendar all together and then reload it onto my phone. Once I did that, I restored my Gmail calendar and made sure the Facebook calendar option is checked. Now, I have NO Facebook birthdays at all. No matter how many times I check, uncheck and refresh the calendar, the birthdays refuse to come back.

Jul 26, 2010I have a question about facebook calendars. I really want to start using the calendar on my phone more often to stay organized (EVO 4g). I also like the idea of having my friends' birthdays auto load into events from facebook. However, I don't want ALL the birthdays of my facebook friends on my cal, if that makes sense.
In other words, I have too many friends. Does anyone know how to manually choose which birthdays you get events for? Or is it simply time to start dumping some excess facebook friendage?

Feb 14, 2010Alright, so I'm pretty terrible with birthdays and other important dates so I started adding some of them to the calender. Suddenly I thought to myself, "Hey is there a way I can do birthdays, anniversaries etc from my people contacts and facebook and link them in one shot to my calender." Is this possible? Is it possible to have it send daily reminders as the date approaches? I see the option to send a reminder a day to a week in advance but does it send out reminder every day from the reminder point to the day of the event?

Mar 13, 2009I found my calendar was lacking birthdays so I recently imported all(some) of my facebook contacts' birthdays to my phone and I'd though I'd share the method i used here
Go to this facebook application called Birthday Exporter
Press 'Download iCal file' and save it somewhere you can find it again.
Now go to Google Calendar
Under the tab 'My Calendars'(to the left), press 'Create' and create a new calendar called Facebook Birthdays (or whatever you wish)
Now click Settings (upper right corner) > Calendars (under the title) > Import Calendar.
Now import the ics file from step two to the 'Facebook Birthdays' calendar, which imports all the birthdays as all-day events repeating each year.
Now you're free to either:
Keep this calendar as an 'external' calendar which will show up on your phone calendar in a different color if you acces the MENU > More > My Calendars
Select which birthdays you'd like to import into your personal calendar by clicking on them in the calendar and import to personal calendar, remembering to select yearly repeats (I chose this way as i only chose to keep about 20% of the birthdays it imported in my own personal calendar)
The list bbcodes don't seem to work well on my browser.

Oct 11, 2010This problem has been bothering me for a while. When I add a phone number with the name of my friend that is the same on my facebook, sometimes it just couldn't find the right one to link to?!
Also, the worst part is even I link it manually, I can't find the contact on the facebook for HTC?! However, I can find contact perfectly with the facebook app on the phone or on the computer. I just don't know why somehow my facebook contacts are missing while I try to link them. Anyone has the solution for this?
I sync all the stuff I can sync already and it doesn't help.

Jun 18, 2010I have a HTC Desire, and it's pretty much amazing and all. One of the things that bugs me tho, (coming from the iPhone which had that ability) is that the Facebook app, don't show any notifications, and that is something I'd really want. I've tried searching the forum, but couldn't find anything use full. cam out really be true that I can't get any app's which can show me notifications from face book?

Nov 25, 2009Since the last update, in my people app, which lists all my contacts, anyone with a facebook profile shows up twice. There are two identical entries, one after another, listed throughout all my contacts.
This is a gigantic PITA since it's effectively added another %50 to my contacts, making it more difficult to scroll thorough and choose a contact.
