HTC EVO 4G :: Get Connected Arabic Font On Phone Without Rooting It?
Oct 20, 2010Is there any way to get connected Arabic fonts for HTC Evo without rooting the phone?

Is there any way to get connected Arabic fonts for HTC Evo without rooting the phone?
Can someone please tell me where/how I install arabic font on my Htc desire? After doing a moderate amount of research I'm guessing I'm going to need to download a rom. I'm still confused on how to do these things, so an explanation would be appreciated. Also, do I need to root to install the rom?By the way I found this link but not sure if it works for Desire?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWith the latest release of 2.2, Arabic is now supported. Somewhat...
What about connecting the letters? My Evo with 2.2 (rooted) displays arabic fonts, but they are disconnected making it worthless almost when reading online. The Arabic keyboard app helps connect texts when typing, but this is only inputting - displayed Arabic fonts are still disconnected.
I've done some digging around and I'm still unable to find a reliable way to get Arabic fonts to display correctly.
I would really like my whole UI localized into Arabic, and according to Arabic Android, this shouldn't be hard once Arabic is supported (which it is partly, now). https://sites.google.com/a/ut.utm.edu/arabic-android/android-native-arabic-support
Is there anyway to get arabic font support with root? Is there any way to put it in a Rom? I've been waiting for this forever.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am new to Android, so please bear with me. It so happens that whenever I open the physical keyboard I can only type Arabic characters. I have tried unselecting the arabic language and changing between "motorola keyboard" and "Mobidiv keyboard" to no avail. It does not happen with the on-screen keyboard, that one is working fine. Its ridiculous, I am writing just fine on-screen, I open the keyboard and the Arabic characters start appearing.

View 3 Replies View RelatedDownloaded FoxFi, and love it. Great when I need to use my laptop. But...
Lately, I've noticed it has been having connection issues. I start the hotspot, my laptop "sees" it. And I can connect (shows "connected" in the wifi window next to "FoxFi" on laptop). But, at the top of the same wifi window, it also shows (under "Currently connected to:"), "No internet access" (or something - connected right now on different wifi network, so I can't get the exact wording). But I hope this is clear.
Why this weird contradiction? One part of the window says I'm connected, the other says I'm not.
This is my first post. I've had a Moto Droid since day one, and I just love it. It is without a doubt better than any phone that I've had over the years, and that includes the iPhone, BB, etc.
However, there are 2 things that I don't understand - Font size and a spell checker. It is imposiible to read the small font size in emails or text messages.
1. Why has there not been an app to either change the font size or be able to zoom in? Picasy has incorporated multi-touch for zooming, so I've to assume that its doable! Why not have the same in an email client.
2. Why is there not an email client out there that allows for spell checking? There are many such apps for the BB! I am a terrible speller.
I am not complaining, I just want to understand the limitations from a developers prospective, as I am sure these isuues will eventually be addressed.
The stock font is boring!!! Not in text messaging, but the phone itself.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI posted this earlier but it disappeared? When the phone is unplugged, it says USB connected, and all of the icons are missing from the top of the homepage (time, signal strength, 3g, etc). The pull down menu is also hard to pull down then is real jerky when it does pull down. When the phone is plugged in, it has the signal for the USB and all the icons return, It also shows a full battery, then tho it is not.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI wish to know if Android supports dynamic font resizing at all? Say, if I have a button with 100dip width and 15px font text in it. If this button gets a longer text at some time, how can I make font size smaller so that I can fit in all text. PS: It just cuts-off the text and doesn't change font dynamically now.
