Android :: Phone Supports Dynamic Font Resizing At All?
Feb 15, 2010
I wish to know if Android supports dynamic font resizing at all? Say, if I have a button with 100dip width and 15px font text in it. If this button gets a longer text at some time, how can I make font size smaller so that I can fit in all text. PS: It just cuts-off the text and doesn't change font dynamically now.

I are making a small game with a high score system, at the end of the game it displays the top 10 scores and the current score, the problem we are having is that it is not resizing the font for different devices, on the S4 it's fine but on a smaller screen the font appears oversized and we lose half the information off the screen.

I'm looking for a dual sim phone with 3g 850 900 2100. I'm trying to get rid of carrying two phones.
Not fussed about brand per say.
Can't post link but there is a eBay seller tec-plus selling ezio b92w.
States that its a quad 3g capable, however I have emailed seller and the response was vague at best.
Any dual sim phone that meets this requirement?

I want to set image dynamically on the ImageButton in android. However, i have more than 200 images. what would be the good solution for that?
The best idea is that i can use the name of image to call different images. i.e. imagebutton.setImage("/res/abc.png");
however, it seems to me that it is not trivial to do so..

1) What, if any, is the BEST ROM based on these criteria
a) STABLE
b) supports all features of a NON rooted Droid phone properly - can be v2.0.1 for all I care, I would just re-run this same list at a later date for a custom ROM running the official 2.1 or later equivalent I suppose.
c) while accomplishing all other criteria listed, still allows for overclocking by the USER - i don't mind using another app to do this - allows tethering and other applications which would typically require ROOT access
d) Accomplishes or at least allows for VOLTAGE and/or PROFILE adjustments to help fine tune battery life while balancing performance - again, doesn't really matter to me if I end up having to pay for an app to addon to accomplish this................

I've this doubt regarding the certification authorities that Android phone supports.
With my previous experience with J2ME, which states that some of the phones doesn't support thawt, while some other doesn't support verisign and so on. Net, net, there wasn't any certification authority which was supported by all the devices.
Now before diving Android development, i wanted to find out which certification i should buy which would help me sign my final application and will be allowed in Android market.
1. Which SSL certificates are supported to access my website through android phone?
2. With which certification authority i should sign my application in order to let it run on all the android phone.

This is my first post. I've had a Moto Droid since day one, and I just love it. It is without a doubt better than any phone that I've had over the years, and that includes the iPhone, BB, etc.
However, there are 2 things that I don't understand - Font size and a spell checker. It is imposiible to read the small font size in emails or text messages.
1. Why has there not been an app to either change the font size or be able to zoom in? Picasy has incorporated multi-touch for zooming, so I've to assume that its doable! Why not have the same in an email client.
2. Why is there not an email client out there that allows for spell checking? There are many such apps for the BB! I am a terrible speller.
I am not complaining, I just want to understand the limitations from a developers prospective, as I am sure these isuues will eventually be addressed.

I have a Droid X and when I take a photo in portrait mode, it looks nice and sharp on my screen...I can see the entire photo and it is perfect. Then when I try to set it as my wallpaper, it forces me to crop in on the photo which kills the quality. I just want to use the whole photo so it looks JUST like the screen right after I snap the photo. Are there any apps out there that will let me do that? Seems stupid to have to offload the photo onto a PC, resize it to 960x854, and then upload it back to the phone to that it will fit perfectly.

This is a really weird issue. I'm trying to download images from DeviantArt to use for wallpapers and the like on my HTC Desire but they seem to be quality controlled on the download. For example, if I download an image on PC which is 700k and then download the same image on my phone it comes in at 80k and there's noticable artifacts. I've tried two browsers (the default one and SkyFire) and it's doing the same thing in both.
