View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for a way to increase the font on my menus, settings, and for the general overall OS system. I realize I can add apps like Handcent that will allow me to do it for things like SMS/MMS. But I also would like to have a way to just increase the font for everything else. After coming over to the Eris from several other smartphones where the font could be adjusted, I'm concerned that I havent found a way on the Eris.
And no, I am not looking for answers such as, "Put on your reading glasses". LOL. I'm hoping I'm just overlooking a simple setting, and maybe an easy app that I can get thru The Market ?
Is there anyway to increase font/text size on the new HTC Incredible?
View 1 Replies View RelatedFull disclosure: There are millions of us semi-old guys who need reading glasses, but have perfect sight for everything else. We need the ability to use a larger font for the calling number. Its OK if the caller is in the contact list, but if it's not I really want to read the number quickly and decide yes/no on taking the call. Grabbing the readers takes time, and can be sketchy when driving.
View 7 Replies View RelatedDoes anybody know if I will be able to increase the email font size on the Incredible? I have BB Storm 2 and can't wait to get rid of it. I tried and returned the Droid because I don't want to put my reading glasses on every time I get an email or text. I have talked to several Android 2.1 users who tell me that this can be done, but not a single one has been able to show me that it can be done.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been playing with the K9 Email app as a replacement for the stock program. I rather like it, but there is a deal breaker. On my secondary gmail account (not the one the Eris is set up with, but another one that I set up in K9) the font size in the message is so tiny I can't see it. I've searched the options over and over to find a setting to increase the font size, but apparently I can't find it. Would any of you happen to know where it is?
View 12 Replies View RelatedThis is my first post. I've had a Moto Droid since day one, and I just love it. It is without a doubt better than any phone that I've had over the years, and that includes the iPhone, BB, etc.
However, there are 2 things that I don't understand - Font size and a spell checker. It is imposiible to read the small font size in emails or text messages.
1. Why has there not been an app to either change the font size or be able to zoom in? Picasy has incorporated multi-touch for zooming, so I've to assume that its doable! Why not have the same in an email client.
2. Why is there not an email client out there that allows for spell checking? There are many such apps for the BB! I am a terrible speller.
I am not complaining, I just want to understand the limitations from a developers prospective, as I am sure these isuues will eventually be addressed.
As much as I wanted to use the native Gmail app, the font size was just too small (seems like a common Android problem except in the browser). To remedy this I simply configured my Gmail (actually Google Apps) account as an IMAP account with the regular Android Mail. Here, font size is fully scalable (about six selections) and they apply to both reading email to typing new email. This will have to do until someone fixes the dedicated Gmail app font size. On the positive side, this actually works better in receiving email sent to the phone as it was definitely NOT full push with the Gmail app as it's supposed to be. Having them both setup it's easy to see that mail arrives much faster with the regular IMAP mail app than with the Gmail, which is really odd.
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust moved from iPhone to Galaxy S3 ICS. The Email app has no place to change the font/text size and it is HUGE. Like so huge I can read the text 6 feet away, that is not an exageration. I need to shirink this by at least 50%,

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Captivate has been plugged in for the past 2+ hours and I barely have 40% battery. Also, my charging cord doesn't stay plugged in. If I pick it up at all while it is charging, the cord falls out. I love this phone, but this may be a deal breaker. What are the chances these issues are just with the phone? Should I go to AT&T and get a new one?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI know I can increase the font size of a normal website by going to menu>settings>text size. But apparently that doesn't work on some websites. Usually it doesn't seem to work on the "mobile version" of some websites.
For example, if I go to TechCrunch on my android. Then I cannot change the text size on that page. Neither can I pinch zoom on that website. Which makes the articles unreadable for me.
Is there something I can do on my end to fix it? Is it wordpress who should fix their mobile engine (this site uses it)? Or is it techcrunch themselves who are configuring their wordpress wrong?
I've seen lots of comments about the default font that comes on the Captivate, and many have said they are using 3rd party fonts as replacements. Which one does everyone seem to think is the best, for readability (is that even a word?)?
View 18 Replies View RelatedI did attempt to use the search feature here but didnt come up with the results I was looking for (or maybe I used it wrong?) I ask the following questions because unfortunately, I dont have good eyesight.
1. Regarding font size. I realize there is no current setting for font size on this phone (that I know of) does anyone here know if the upcoming 2.1 update will include that?
2. I know there is a text size option for the browser. However, it doesent seem to work on most websites I go to (like CNN for example) I try setting it at different sizes and nada. So far my browsing experience hasent been that good because of this (having to constantly strain my eyes looking at website text) Any tips on why the text size option doesent seem to work?
3. is there anyway to increase the text size of emails and text messages?
Cant hear the notification or phone ring tone unless i,m next to it.
does anybody no what setting to increase the incoming ring tone and notification volume in the service menu
AT&T coverage in my area is less than stellar, so I occasionally get dropped calls. Also, I sometimes tend to piss my GF off, and she hangs up on me unexpectedly .
Given both these situations, I'd like to know if there was a way to increase or change the call failed/ended tone. Problem is, I can't hear it.
When I access my gmail on the Captivate throught the google website, it has a completely different look than the stock gmail accesssed from the icon on the phone. Is there a way to incorporate the website look into the stock gmail app? Is it a different download? Can't seem to find the answer. It's a more polished look and is easier to navigate, with more on screen choices, etc.
