Since I updated yesterday, i cant get bettercut to create any new shortcuts. The update also wont let me use the standard google home launcher anymore either.
Has anyone found a solution for this?

Anyone know how to delete shortcuts created with BetterCut? I can delete the ones on the screen (long press, drag to trash), but not those within the application itself. I created a ton of them just trying things out and now my 'edit shortcut' list is cluttered up.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have recently got an ICS update on my Motorola Atrix 2 in India. I have been using gingerbread for quiet a long and now suddenly everything has changed.
I have anyway explored almost all the changes in ICS. But I am still not able to find one feature which I really loved in gingerbread.
When I press and hold on empty part of home screen, a pop up comes up listing widgets, shortcuts, folders and wallpaper which is now replaced by wallpaper only. However, widgets can be still added after pressing menu key and selecting widgets tab. Folders can created by just dragging and dropping apps on one another.
But the most shocking part for me is that there is no way I can create a shortcut or at least I didn't find. I had pinned "catch" notes on my home screen in gingerbread which is not working anymore although the option is still there in the catch application.
Using Astro File Manager, I used to create my important folders from sd card as shortcuts on my home screen which is also not working any more. Is there anything I am missing out or ICS for motorola atrix 2 doesn't have that feature?
Is there a way to create/place a shortcut on the windows desktop to a SD folder on an android phone? My galaxy s3 doesn't show up as a drive but rather a mobile device in win 7.

Is there a way to add the remaining 120 at once to the homescreens?
If I would have to do it manually (Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1) it would take at least an hour to do (adding one shortcut is extremely slow, as my tab needs about 10 seconds to display the list of apps alone when creating a shortcut).I don't have to do it manually for each app.
For example, Gensoid Lite, a Sega Genesis emulator, allows you to create homescreen shortcuts to launch specific ROMs inside the app. Are there any internet radio apps that have this same functionality? I'd like to create some icons to access my favorite stations right from the homescreen instead of opening the app and going through there. I've tried XiiaLive, Cherry rPlayer, Google Listen, and TuneIn Radio and none of those have this functionality.

I've been playing around with the App Organizer, and been putting things into folders. However, I am trying to do a few things.
Add shortcuts into the groups App Organizer creates, and/or create custom icons for Folders I put on the Home pages.
For example, I have 6 mail accounts (don't ask) and want to put them in a group called mail. Using AppOrganizer, I can only organizer the main mail icon into the group, I want to add the 5 other shortcuts I created for each account. OR I group them into a folder, but I want to change the folder icon to an envelope.
Also, anyone know any good apps that puts email notifications on the top taskbar?
For some strange reason, since the 2.2 update. My shortcuts on my pages keep disappearing & in there place is a deleted box, which is unusable. I create the shortcuts using folderorganiser & it only happens on a few.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI use twitter to follow various people in the F1 fraternity, the friendstream widget is pretty handy, so I use that on a homepage. A few times now I've noticed that it fails to update from twitter - it simply doesn't get any new stuff. If I go in to peep that also doesn't update. if I start the twitter app they are all there.
Anyone else noticed this / found a solution ?
Last time it was out of a couple of days and then just started working again.
My X10 won't let me update to the new software at all. I've followed all the instructions, but it just says the update has failed every time. Am I the only person with this problem?

I have noticed that the green 'online' status indicator in Talk doesn't update on my phone when someone signs off, it stays green for them. They show as offline on my PC but continue to show online on the Droid. If I sign out and back in to Talk on the phone it will update their status, but otherwise not. I've tried closing chat but that doesn't seem to work, I don't see anything in settings that would affect it either. Any ideas?
I'm the only one using Android, my other contacts are all using Talk online (not with a phone) if that makes a difference.
I've never used bettercut and am after a tutorial. I have this homescreen. want to change the GMail icon to the same green as everything else.

It's extremely buggy for me in 2.1 and I basically can only load iconpacks, but not individual icons out of gallery, etc.

I'm wanting to change the icon for a shortcut on my widgetlocker lockscreen. I'm using Bettercut to create the shortcut and change the icon, but it places it on my homescreen instead of lockscreen.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to use BetterCut to create one-touch phone icons on my Droid X. I hold my finger on the screen and get the Add to Home Screen list. I select Shortcuts > Better Cut > Direct Call, and get a list of contacts. But there are only 3 contacts there, out of 400+ in my Contacts list. The one I want isn't among them.
What qualifies a contact for inclusion in this list? All I can guess is that being a Favorite may have something to do with it, because all 3 candidates shown are Favorites. But I have more favorites than just those 3. Can anybody tell me how to get other contacts into that list; or, alternatively, how to pick directly from my contacts list?
Is there an app like bettercut that lets you edit icons? I had bettercut on my droid and it worked perfectly but I keep getting an error when trying to use it on my inc.

I am not a developer. I am trying to learn Java, Eclipse, Android SDK, Linux, and AnyCut. I am obviously lost regarding where to start in order to design and develop apps for Android.
I hope this post will become a tutorial with tips and tricks for designing shortcuts using AnyCut's "Make Your Own" option. The "Activity" option will allow most shortcuts but I want a better understanding of what to add to the Action, Data, and Type fields to design shortcuts that successfully navigate android OS.

I create the shortcut fine, but when I click it, it says the application doesn't exist. I did delete/rename a few /system/apps but nothing that should affect bettercut's ability to resolve the link. I can launch the contacts app fine using the stock shortcut...but I like having custom icons....
View 22 Replies View RelatedNot sure if this is a Desire problem, an HTC Sense problem or a Better/AnyCut problem but has anyone been able to make a direct icon to call or text a phone contact with either App?
I don't sync contacts or calendar to Google but use HTC Sync to sync with my desktop Outlook. It all works well, but of course it means I have no Google contacts on my handset, only phone contacts. Seems that Better/AnyCut can't see these.
I have "Bettercut" installed and its awesome! My question is this, I downloaded some icons and copied them to my SD Card, but how do I select them for my better cut shortcut. I only see the options...

In bettercuts i keep trying to make a people shortcut with a better icon. I go to the app and start to make a new shortcut. I go to activity and there are 3 different People app in there and none of the 3 actually open my contacts. I don't know what to do to fix it or do i just have to use the crappy icon for people with Bettercuts?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am new to Android development. I am using a x-platform development tool which builds and signs the APK for me. This tool has a bug and it does not generate APK's with the version code I specify, all APK's generated are version 1.0.
I would like to unpack the APK, edit the version code, and then resign and repackage it. It was signed using my keystore originally, so I have the keys needed to sign it again. How can this be done?
I am wanting to change the icons for a lot of my apps on my home screens. I have been looking at BetterCut, Apps Organizer, and Folder Organizer. Now Apps Organizer is free and Folder Organizer has a free trial version, but Better cut is not free not does BetterCut have a free trial version.
Please tell me what you like/dislike about the apps, primarily BetterCut and Folder Organizer (paid).

*Is BetterCut really worth $2?

Are any of these going to meet my needs of wanting to change the icons on my home screens?
*Are the icons dependant on the app that changed them (in other words, if I uninstall BetterCut after changing an icon, will the icon still be what I changed it to, or will it go back to the default icon)?

I am going to play around with the two free versions of these apps and see if I like them, but unfortunately, BetterCut is an all or nothing app. I just don't want to feel like I wasted any money because the app ended up not doing what I wanted it to do.
I just got to thinking and I realized that I change my layout each week, sometimes more then once in a week. I don't just mean add an icon or widget, i mean change icon appearances with BetterCut, rearrange icons/widgets...add/remove the amount of screens, change background images and lockscreens.....you get the point. so with that being said, how often do you change your eris layout???

Is ClockWork Recovery for every device? How is it possible to extract the stock rom without ClockWork?
