My X10 won't let me update to the new software at all. I've followed all the instructions, but it just says the update has failed every time. Am I the only person with this problem?

Does anyone have a solution for this , it just Vibrates with incoming calls even though the ringtone volume is at its highest?
The speaker works , if I play music or Games through it , but incoming calls are just Silent?
Anyone else Having this problem?
My X8 was getting restarted when try to play a video. It was also getting restarted while playing the video shoted with that Own X8's cam. I updated the S/W but no use of it. Whats the reason for it. Is there any solution.
View 3 Replies View RelatedOk people, I have found a way to extend your battery life enormously, to the extent that it is what it was advertised by Sony. Some of you guys may know that I have helped on a lot of other minor issues when the x10 first came out so am not lying on this.In the battery life thread, I have mentioned that last week, my battery was amazingly great where overnight, it only reduced 3-5% of the battery and a good days use only drained about 30-40% of the battery. I did not know how this happened but I have finally found out now after testing it 3 times.
My solution:
I turned off my phone, then turn it back on, used tasks killer right away because the phone when turned on, activates a lot of apps and then i killed all apps except my beautiful widgets and settings. And that is it, battery was amazing and you can use your apps as normal and battery life was as good as mentioned above.
Now, the problem that kills the battery where you will have to restart your phone again for the good battery life: When downloading a new app or updating from the market, the battery became horrendous again. When I did this, the battery overnight drained 25-30% and a days use drained over 60%.But all I did was restart my phone after installing a new app or updating and did what I mentioned above and the battery was back to it's amazing self.I have tested this 3 times and it works for me. It is as simple as turning off your phone and back on again so go and try it to see if it works for you.
When i am setting up the wallpaper i am unable to get the full wallpaper even though i have taken 200*320 size is there any solution for this

I'm getting pretty crazy. The phone is completely unlocked i can access all menus with no problem but as soon as i make a call it says "Call ended" and messages remain unsent with a red exclamation mark. No messages or calls can be received either. I've tried 2 different sim cards with different providers and on both cases the signal is full but the same problem persists.
View 33 Replies View RelatedI have a big problem,it happens once a day(it happend before MR1,with MR1,and with MR2). Cant unlock the screen,when I need to drag padlock left or right it just cant,padlock stays on the left or right side, I can get it back to the middle but unlock - NO (sometimes it promts for some ''unlock code'' but it is not usual lock code as I never set a lock code) and in mean while if you receive a call from some one he complained later on that why didn't you receive the phone, my answer is always that phone never vibrate or ring but when i check the miss call log the call was really there.
The only temporary solution is soft reset. Somebody have something to say?
Is there any offline slution for backup of all datas, and restoring them?? Why was the offline issues thought before.

I live in Denmark, and my friend with same phone and tele company have no problem updating. What I'm I missing??
I recently swapped my own X10 for a HTC Desire for a multiutude of reasons I won't go into, but my GF kept her X10 in anticipation of the 2.1 Update. She has updated the phone now, although it did take two hours and kept failing.
Anyway, she is happyish with the phone, but I still feel guilty, as it is so terribly slow, and I recommended the phone to her in the first place.
Anyway onto my question. If anyone has a HTC Desire and an X10, they may have more insight, but basically, the X10, after the update, is really slow.
I have sat my Desire side by side with her X10, and tried to do simple tasks, like go into settings, or load media scape, or add widgets, etc, and the X10 is sometimes seconds behind the Desire. I am hoping this is due to a bad install of the update but am not sure.
Everything seems to lag, pressing settings, going into the app drawer, loading the messaging app, and it doesnt always take the same amount of time to load things either. Sometimes going into settings comes up instantly, other times it takes 5 or 6 seconds. Things just seem to hang for no reason. Even scrolling the app drawer and settings screens up and down seem laggy.
We both have launcher pro installed now too, as I find it to be an amazing launcher, but the X10 with launcher pro is again miles behind speed wise, to the point of, to me anyway, almost unnacceptable lag.
Anyway, I just wondered if anyone, hopefully with both phones too, could advise me. I dont want to advise her to do the update again if it isn't going to help. I am privately hoping it is not the limitations of the X10 that makes Android 2.1 so slow, but just a bad install, but i'm not holding my breath.
I'm not good in phone software, i just want to know can X10 Update to Android 2.1 or 2.2 now? and I'm using Android 1.6 at the moment.

I restarted the phone is not getting restarted.
Even I did " Remove and reinsert the battery and then restart your phone. If this does not help, charge the phone. It may take up to 30 minutes before you can see that the battery is being charged.
i've found that my x10 really disappointed me even after updated.. still alot of bugs! and so slow~==... that really irritates me alot... SE pls do something to improve the phone as i can see the specification of this phone is really good just that the software sucks. and this phone is not cheap at all. cost me almost like the price of an iphone

I followed all the instructions on updating to Android 2.1 and I did not have any error messages in the process. When I boot my X10, I am still at Android 1.6. Worse yet, the backup/restore application does not restore everything. I have to reconfigure my main screens and the worse of it is my Touchdown client needs to be reconfigured for exchange sync and I have to reconfigure it and re-download everything again. How can I diagnose why my android doesn't update? I am using Windows 7 x64. The process looked like it was working, but I see the following in the driverinstaller_install_usbflashdriver.log file:

My phone charging port is broken. I have been unable to charge the phone and connect it to the pc. Can anyone advise if it is possible to still get the update. I have taken the phone to a few places to see if the port can be fixed but no one is guranteeing they can fix the com port.

View 3 Replies View RelatedYesterday (08/08/10) my X10 said there was a new update available and to download correctly I needed to connect it to a computer update through PC Companion 2.0. I did this and followed all the on screen instructions correctly. I got to the final stage and it asked me to disconnect the phone switch it off remove the battery, reinsert and then turn it back on again. The instructions said it may take awhile for the phone to come back on again because the phone will be updating. So far my phone has not come back on again after 24 hours of waiting, all that happens is the sony ericsson logo is displayed for about 10 seconds and then the phone turns off then the same process is repeated. Any ideas whats happened or what I can do to fix this or will it be a job for Sony? I have emailed them but of course they were absolutly no help what so ever.
