I can't get bettercut to launch the People app or the Camera. It says "This program is no longer installed on your device." I'm using a Droid Eris, and can't quite figure it out, although all other programs work fine.

In bettercuts i keep trying to make a people shortcut with a better icon. I go to the app and start to make a new shortcut. I go to activity and there are 3 different People app in there and none of the 3 actually open my contacts. I don't know what to do to fix it or do i just have to use the crappy icon for people with Bettercuts?

I hate having to open the camera and try to operate the slider to change the mode to video. The Youtube app works but takes up too much space on the screen. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had my phone since June 14th and today noticed my camera lens is cracked. It's a very small crack that goes right across the middle and you have to look hard to see it. Doesn't seem to impact image quality as far as I can tell. It has never been dropped so I'm not sure how it happened. I don't use a case but I'm very careful with my phone. Not sure why HTC made the EVO with a raised camera lens, anytime you set it down that�s the piece that makes contact with whatever you put it on.

However my main gripe with all those is that they dont offer the great UI for the HTC camera and a way to integrate Facebook contacts with your address book like the HTC People app. Has anyone found something that works very similiar to it so I can rid myself of sense forever .
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an app where I want to list all phone numbers and the associated contact name.I see that there is the Contacts.People table for the purpose of getting all phone numbers and that there is a PERSON_ID to allow me to lookup the contact in Contacts.People.Great.Now I see that all the columns I want are already joined to the Contacts.People.Phones table. But that seems lucky in this case.How could I do the equivalent of the above statement in general if the implementer of the content provider hadn't been so nice as to join for me?

It's extremely buggy for me in 2.1 and I basically can only load iconpacks, but not individual icons out of gallery, etc.
Would rather use another product if available?
I'm trying to use BetterCut to create one-touch phone icons on my Droid X. I hold my finger on the screen and get the Add to Home Screen list. I select Shortcuts > Better Cut > Direct Call, and get a list of contacts. But there are only 3 contacts there, out of 400+ in my Contacts list. The one I want isn't among them.
What qualifies a contact for inclusion in this list? All I can guess is that being a Favorite may have something to do with it, because all 3 candidates shown are Favorites. But I have more favorites than just those 3. Can anybody tell me how to get other contacts into that list; or, alternatively, how to pick directly from my contacts list?
A few other threads exist with requests for help on making shortcuts or writing your own code for shortcuts using AnyCut or BetterCut. None of these have been active or helpful.
I am not a developer. I am trying to learn Java, Eclipse, Android SDK, Linux, and AnyCut. I am obviously lost regarding where to start in order to design and develop apps for Android.
I hope this post will become a tutorial with tips and tricks for designing shortcuts using AnyCut's "Make Your Own" option. The "Activity" option will allow most shortcuts but I want a better understanding of what to add to the Action, Data, and Type fields to design shortcuts that successfully navigate android OS.
Please add examples of Make Your Own shortcuts you have created.
Not sure if this is a Desire problem, an HTC Sense problem or a Better/AnyCut problem but has anyone been able to make a direct icon to call or text a phone contact with either App?
I don't sync contacts or calendar to Google but use HTC Sync to sync with my desktop Outlook. It all works well, but of course it means I have no Google contacts on my handset, only phone contacts. Seems that Better/AnyCut can't see these.
I have "Bettercut" installed and its awesome! My question is this, I downloaded some icons and copied them to my SD Card, but how do I select them for my better cut shortcut. I only see the options...

I have all of my contacts linked to their respective facebook accounts, but the pictures that show up when I go to my People never update with the facebook pictures, they have stayed the same since the day I linked the two regardless of how many times the person has changed their default picture since then. Is there any way for me to change this so the pictures in my People update with facebook? Since they are linked I assume they should be able to do this.

Now Apps Organizer is free and Folder Organizer has a free trial version, but Better cut is not free not does BetterCut have a free trial version.
Please tell me what you like/dislike about the apps, primarily BetterCut and Folder Organizer (paid).

I am going to play around with the two free versions of these apps and see if I like them, but unfortunately, BetterCut is an all or nothing app. I just don't want to feel like I wasted any money because the app ended up not doing what I wanted it to do.
I'm wanting to change the icon for a shortcut on my widgetlocker lockscreen. I'm using Bettercut to create the shortcut and change the icon, but it places it on my homescreen instead of lockscreen.

I did delete/rename a few /system/apps but nothing that should affect bettercut's ability to resolve the link. I can launch the contacts app fine using the stock shortcut...but I like having custom icons....

We can't use the same application with different camera device dynamically. For example, we can select the camera device in the VLC (Video LAN Client) on windows because there is direct show on it, but we can't do that on android by camera API without changing the framework. Guys, is there any mistake at my understand? Is there any plan to modify framework to support this situation ?

Every time I press it to use my camera it keeps lowering my ringer volume and when im in the camera mode(from app) it wont snap any pics, it just takes me back to my main page and lower the volume. One of the missing contacts only appeared after selecting 'Show auto gmail contacts' and when I unchecked this option the contact still appears on the phone.This problem also manifests itself when pulling in gmail contacts to Mozilla Thunderbird on the PC so presumably there is gmail setting I have missed - could this be 'display random contacts'
