There was a thread about htc telling us to charge the phone till green then turn it off and charge again till it hits green, i tried this method but the battery led would always go back to orange, i unplugged and repeated step two about 30 or 40 times

Is there a way to calibrate the touch screen? it seems to be slight out on mine when i go to the right hand edge of the screen

View 10 Replies View RelatedI've never been able to calibrate my compass since day one for some reason, but the easily rotating screens were driving me nuts and getting annoying. I was messing around yesterday, and tried hitting the Calibrate button like 50 times FAST AS HELL and I got the compass to appear! Doing it the normal way didn't do anything, as the phone would just repaint the screen with the fake phone showing you how to rotate it.After a few rotations, it turned green. I was like, wow, that was easy...until I tested it. My phone now refused to go to landscape at all!! So I tried it again. After another 50 taps, I went throught the same motions, got the red compass folks were complaining about in another thread and tried the solution that worked for some by deleting the market Compass app I got months ago. I went back to settings and...nope, still needs 50 taps and still got a red compass. I did a reboot and a battery pull, and same result. I can no longer get into landscape mode, EVER!!! The only way to get into landscape is if I am playing a game or something, but rotating the phone for web surfing or texting just doesn't work.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI stupidly did the same mistake again by updating my S2 from GingerBread to IceCreamSandwitch without calibrating the horizontal accelerometere, and now unfortanatly i cannot find the official GB firmware for my S2 .
(if you have a better solution that will fix my accelerometer cause now when i play games like " Trial ", when the phone is in the "normal" position the rider is always going back so i have to rotate the phone about 15 degrees to the right in order to be "normal" )
If I have Gmail set to autosync, but have 3G (and WiFi and 4G) turned off, does this drain the battery when it tries to sync, or does it just not sync? I'd rather not have to manually turn off all syncing when I want to go off the network for a while.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI love my new Android phone, and I am able to sync my songs/podcasts just fine using Easy Phone Tunes.
But I really liked that my iPod/iPhone would sync perfectly with my podcasts. If I played 15 minutes of the Dave Ramsey show on my iPhone, and then connected it to my computer, then I could continue the show on my computer. Additionally, after I connected my iPhone to the computer, I knew which podcasts to delete as it would show them as "played".
Is there a way to accomplish this with the Android phone? I am willing to give up on iTunes to make this happen. I am still using a Mac though.
Many of us have experienced some battery life fall out since the last update. I mentioned this in the battery life thread but I thought it deserved it own topic. I have an app that I downloaded called battery status. it has a battery history. and it says time without sleeping 7h 10m 25s ago. Thats exactally when I unplugged my phone. This explains why I am seeing 2-3% per hour loss while not using the phone and while in airplane mode. Before the update I could keep the phone in airplane mode, not usre it, and leave work with over 94% battery life. So this proves that somehow the phone is not going into sleep mode... I can guarantee that everyone else in that is experiencing battery drain since the sept 16th update is due to this reason. The question is... why the hell is this happening and why won't the phone go into sleep mode?

I've noticed that the standard icon does a really poor job tracking the actual battery percentage. For example, the percentage will show 35%, but the icon will still appear two-thirds green.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a sprint GNex. I just started having this problem recently (but before the 4.3 update). I plug my phone in overnight and at some point in the middle of the night an error occurs that make the phone think it is off the charger and has a fully depleted battery. The battery level icon shows no charge and if I pull the phone off the charger it immediately says it has to shut down due to a low battery. However, as soon as I turn it back on it is back to normal with a full charge.

View 15 Replies View RelatedRooted Droid 1, running LFY 1.9 with it's 1ghz kernel, SPRecovery. Had a weird issue recently; the phone displayed that my battery life was at 40%, then probably ~30 minutes later it was down to 20%. I wasn't using it during that time, I just unlocked the screen to check something. Anyway, I opened my browser and within a minute or two I got the "15% battery life remaining" message, prompting me to connect my charger. I decided I would allow the phone to just die and shut itself down. So I waited ~45 minutes and it went down to 10%, then almost immediately to 5%. I turned on the GPS just to make it drain faster... I watched a one-hour television show and when it was over, I glanced over to the phone to see if it had died - nope, still on. I turned the LED light on, leaving the GPS running for ~25 minutes and it finally powered down. Then I plugged it in to charge and left the room. Came back in about 2.5 hours later and picked up the phone - it was very hot. Unlocked the screen and checked SetCPU and it was running ~135?F but it immediately started cooling down. It was fully charged, however so I unplugged it. I went to bed shortly thereafter and the battery life displayed 90% as I set the alarm to wake me up the next morning. I happened to wake up shortly before the alarm was set to go off and I picked up the phone to disable the alarm and noticed the red 'charge me' light blinking - unlocked the screen to see 5% and just then it powered itself down.
TL;DR -- Phone only got hot that one time, phone hasn't gone dead in stand-by mode again like it did that night. Battery drains at a seemingly normal rate based on my regular use from 100% down to 40%, then it rapidly drains after that, always skipping 30% and when it gets down to 5% it stays alive for quite a long time under heavy load. Is there a way to 'teach' the phone how to check and calculate actual and remaining battery % and to display it correctly? Is it kernel-related? I heard somewhere about doing a 'battery wipe' but I am unsure what that entails and searches are proving fruitless for me so far.

View 13 Replies View RelatedToday i found a new battery issue with the phone. I tried searching the forum but as you can probably see from the title could not find the right words to define it. At night i left the battery at around 70% and when i woke up it was shown as 5% (no i did not sleep for 24hrs straight.). with the sync, bluetooth, GPS, wireless and Data (through Quick Settings) off.
but thats not the fun part yet. it comes when i plugged in my car charger the battery level jumped from 5% to 60% within a millisecond. I know the the charger box said "Fast Rate Charger" but this is ridiculous. unless i got one of those freak hyper super fast charger (which i doubt, hardly that lucky), there is a software bug. Does anyone know how to remedy this cuz now i dont think i can trust the battery level thingy. It fun when it happens this way but i dont think i would be laughing if the battery dropped by 50%.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Motorola Milestone with Android 2.1. I'd like an app which shows the battery level in the notification bar. Nothing fancy, no estimation of remaining battery life nor fancy eye candy. If it can show a more precise reading than the Milestone built-in one, which only decreases in 10% intervals, fine, but only if this isn't a drain on the battery. I know there are several such apps, but which do you think is the best for my needs? There are so many it's hard to try them all and choose. I just want something basic and simple which doesn't drain the battery. I tried "battery indicator" and "battery status pro"; they both do what I need, but I'm afraid they might be an additional drain on the battery.

- I'm running the "Battery Left" widget and I have it displaying "estimated percentage left", "system percentage", and "estimated time left until dead".
- I listen to A LOT of Slacker Radio.
My issues:
- I was previously getting about 19+ hours out of a fully charged battery. 2-3 days ago I started having issues with the widget (I think it may have started when I installed an update to the widget) so I recalibrated it to no avail. Then I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Within a few hours it claimed that it was getting accurate readings (when I first installed the widget weeks ago, it took days to get accurate) and now says that I should be getting 9 hours out of a fully charged battery. I know that can't be right so I'll see how the widget adjusts itself over the next few days, but, any thoughts? (I know a lot of you guys use the same widget and know how it works...)
- Also, In the first two hours of my phone being unplugged this morning, it went from 100% to 70%. I did run Slacker for about an hour and a half of that time, but could it really drain the battery that much that quickly? And I noticed that when I close Slacker, if I go into phone settings, applications, running services - there's still a Slacker update thing running in there. Could that be draining the battery too, even if it's only checking for updates?
- I really don't run a lot of stuff on this phone. I keep wifi and gps turned off. I use bluetooth only a few hours each night. Minimal web browsing. Although, my POP email gets checked every 5 mins (but I just changed it to every 10) and I do use gchat and text a decent amount, but I'd say overall, it's "light" use (except for Slacker which could be a huge drain, right?)
I connected a usb cord that came with my galaxy, to the front usb ports of my new computer. I built it myself but i think i connected the from case usb cords wrong to the mobo or may be the mobo is defective. My phone turns off as soon as i connect it to the usb cord connected to the front. Could the battery be screwed? My phone still boots up, it just doesnt charge as fast. If not at all i left it connected to the wall charger all night tonight and it was only half charged by morning. Should I just order a new battery off ebay for my galaxy?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've had a Droid X2 for almost 2 years, and as phones usually do, the battery life became pretty bad. It would get to 5% and then quickly die halfway through the day.
I purchased a new battery, and found it to be just as bad (supposedly). It would be down to 5% by noon without much usage, so I thought maybe the problem was with my phone and not an old battery. I'd just turn it off or try to find a charger...
It took me a few days to realize that it lasts hours past when it gets to 5%. HOURS. It reached 5% at about 1pm EST today, I used it my whole commute home on the train, made a two 5-10 minute phone calls this evening, and now past 9pm it still hasn't died.
So, it's not the battery. It's not the worst problem to have... but it would be really nice to know how much battery I have left.
Note: I rooted my phone about 1 week before I got the new battery.
