Oct 27, 2010well im new to this rooting thing, my evo was sucessfully rooted then i started to look around for ROMS and Kernals and i see that baked snack 1.8 is pretty good so i downloaded it put it on my SD card, wiped my phone and cache and when it is opening the zip file that it is in, it says (BAD) and doesnt work, can somebody tell me what im doing wrong, btw i saw on the baked snack website saying that i need to have the lastest wimax update and newest radio, are these things im going to need or i have to make sure my phone already has those things.

Jul 20, 2010I loaded Baked Snack Beta 9.7 ROM last night and have nothing but good things to say. It's over clocked to 1113 using Set CPU. The overall phone runs extremely fast and smooth and I have not had any FC's or random reboots. I also score approximately 1 MFLOP higher than Fresh Rom 1.0.1. Bottom line I am very happy and I had never even heard of this ROM until yesterday.

Oct 1, 2010Hey guys, I really liked the speediness of BS1.7 when I tried it yesterday, but I didn't like the subtle changes to the UI so I reverted back to the stock rom. Does anyone know if it's possible to customize a rom? My main gripe with BS was the bar at the bottom of the phone was changed from a gray/silver color to a transparent black. If I could change that and reinstall certain apps that weren't included (like Sprint Nav), I think it'd be perfect. If not, then is it possible to flash a kernel using the stock rom? I'm mainly trying to overclock the cpu.

Oct 6, 2010I installed this tonight , and yes I wiped everything. I can't get tether to work. Any ideas? Also, where can I get this #6 kernel everyone is flashing over this Rom. I know its built in but i guess people are reporting it being more smooth with that flashed over.

HTC EVO 4G :: Music Player With Baked Snack 1.7
Sep 14, 2010I'm rocking the HTC Evo (obviously) and am enjoying the deliciousness of Baked Snack 1.7 (with what I believe to be the #6 kernel). My one gripe with this ROM is that any music player I use (HTC, Stock Android, Music Mod) causes whatever track I'm listening to to restart randomly if I leave it paused for too long. I'm listening to audio books (Stephen King), so it's a pain to have to keep on finding where I left off. This happens if I let the screen go dark, plug in the USB cable, you name it. Does anyone know why this might be and if there's a workaround for it happening? The HTC player on stock Sense did not have this problem.

Sep 23, 2010I used Unrevoked 3 to attain root and have flashed Baked Snack 1.7 onto my phone with Clockworkmod.
Everything seems to be well and good save for my phone is no longer detected by my computer. It will not accept a charge and will not detect as a removable disk.
I've updated to the latest WiMax update per instructions on Baked Snack's website.
Have I missed a step?
when I plug the cable into my phone, the "Select which type of connection to use" box appears for a split second then diappears. The battery is not taking a charge nor is the phone detectable on my computer. I've installed the hboot drivers prior to using unrevoked 3.

Oct 23, 2010I recently installed this ROM and I am happy with it so far. There is just one glitch I noticed and I cannot remember if this happened at all on the stock ROM, although I don't think it did. When I'm done talking on the phone and pull it away from my fat head, the screen lights up like it should, but I cannot hit the END button for like 2-3 seconds. Shouldn't it "take" right away?

Sep 20, 2010I gotta say, after my first time messing with root and choosing my first rom as the Baked Snack 1.7, I couldn't be happier with it. I have an EVO and my wife has an Epic. As soon as she got her epic, I was immediately jealous of how smooth it ran. Well no more, as the Fresh Baked 1.7 improves performance and removes the 30fps limit making this thing run the way I wanted it to from day 1. So far everything on it is working, all the excess sprint stuff is gone, and it actually bugs less than the Official sprint build I was using before.
Keep up the good work devs, and whoever is interested in rooting, I recommend the fresh baked rom for sure. Although my comparison to other roms is non exist, to have the full feel of the phone as it was released with sense but running smooth is fantastic.

Nov 11, 2010I kind of figured ROM manager was a clockwork thing but after I flashed the latest MIUI build and the English pack #2 it started to boot into Amons recovery instead of clockwork. And yes I didn't change my recovery to Amoni it even said on the program that clockwork. 2. 5. 0. 1 was my recovery. But that wasnt the worst part.Now when I try to flash one of my other Rom backups it says Rom manager has superuser permissions but then it just sits there. I finally was able to get into clockwork... did a backup via My backup pro, but I couldn't do a restore of one of my saved Roms manually it gives a MD 5 or a MIDI 5 mistake something like that.

Sep 25, 2010I am using ROM manager. I am using a stock 2.2 after update. I rooted with unrevoked. So, I am trying to back this up. When I choose a name for it, it turns into the dreaded white EVO 4G screen and never does anything until I pull battery, and reboot the phone.I guess it's safe to say this is not going to work and I have to manually do the backup, etc? With all those steps.You see, what I want to do is put Fresh on my EVO ...dab a little in custom ROMS.

Sep 24, 2010I have been trying to install a custom ROM on my N1 using ROM manager. I have been PM'ing with Rusty! all morning and he has given me a lot of help (props to him). The issue that I am having is that when I try to install the ROM it goes through the back up portion of it but when it goes to apply the .zip file it says it's no good.More specifically I am trying to install this ROM (Talderon recommended it, props to him also):

I am trying to install the FRF91 Black bar version. I downloaded it, put it at the root fold on my sdcard, opened ROM manager, clicked install from sd card and it goes through some stuff on the screen then tells me it aborts the install and leaves me with a clean slate of android (I then run the back up on it).I also tried downloading cyanogen mod from ROM manager itself ("Download ROM").Once it downloads the ROM it reboots and leaves me with an android guy with an exclaimation point.Any hints or tips of what I am doing wrong?
