The 4 default icons, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS & 4G. Does anyone know how to add these to a new screen without just moving them? I have looked at all apps and widgets and can't locate these.

I read on here somewhere that I could add the 3 icons to my homescreen, very very useful but now my boyfriend wants it on his phone and for the life of me I can't remember how to do it.

Can themes to this phone is one main question. I love the themes I can use for my current BB. Can I add other icons to my desktop or home screen that I choose like yahoo mail and myspace like on my BB?
Every time I try to add a contact icon (from a saved image on my phone), my Magic saves a low-resolution version of the crop I make.
When I dial the contact, the picture looks HORRIBLE (it seems like the resolution is about 50x50px or something). I tried making contact icons from photos made with the phone or from high-res images that I transferred from my PC, but the outcome is always the same: the resolution of the icon is too small.
Is there a way to solve this problem? There's no point having a low-res image in a high-resolution image placeholder.
I want to know how to add to the default ringtones. I downloaded Zedge and it works great for voice ringtones but I can't get notification ringtones from this. Help.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm not rooted with anything, however I am running Open Home. I also installed the Windows7 Icon Pack for use. However, I wish to change some of the icons it defaults to when I load them up (particularly the Market icon, which defaults to the Recycle Bin).Is there a way to do this manually? or do I need to download another software from the market? I see some people mentioned "Better Cut" but I'm unsure if that does what I am asking, or if it is just a replacement for Open Home.I'm not too savvy poking around the Android OS at the root.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAnytime I click to add a new event it always defaults to "My Calendar"(phone built in one) as the Calendar it is going to add it too.I have checked my settings and I only have my google calendar checked so it shows all of those events.The "My Calendar" is unchecked too. But it always wants to add it to that one, not google. Any ideas how to change this? Or if not, is there another calendar app you could recommend I use instead of the stock then?This is really annoying that every event I have to change and select Google.I use google calendar for everything, and if I forget once it could cause a lot of problems. Plus, I don't want to think about having to change it manually EVERY EVENT!

I tried to use the SDK and grab the .apk but my phone is not being recognized. I don't know if that is a 2.1 issue or not, but it worked fine with 1.5.

View 14 Replies View RelatedIf I have to keep on posting anew just to get basic answers (such as where Android Linux stores anything), then so be it I will! I like to cherry-pick my icons when an installed theme leaves me with the same one for different functions, or I just think the stock ones look better. This is possible with my home screen app (Dxtop), but I need to know where to find them in the Android system. I actually prefer the stock icons over any available icon paks on the Market, as the 2.1+ set is much more concise and complete than what I see available there (you have the choice of separate icons for camera & camcorder, or messaging next to your voicemail, which are only available from the stock set). The problem is that DxTop can find only the installed icon paks, go to the Market to find more, or call up Astro so that I can search for icons in my system - it has no clue where my stock icons are. Cannot imagine why Android makes it so difficult to use it's default icons, but I want to use them as needed. Can they even be viewed where they are stored on an un-rooted phone? If not, where would they be seen if my phone was rooted?

I just followed the instructions in the stickies root message and boom - I'm rooted. Flashed with Fresh 1.1. Can anyone direct me to somewhere on how to customize the screens? Also, there are a couple of new icons at the top of my home screen - an "E" inside a circle and after a phone call, I get a green circle in the notification bar.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have 4 subscriptions in the news app and the widget on the home screen. The problem is, read news keeps refreshing on the app after i've read and deleted it. If I read all the news, then delete them all so that it's empty, the widget will "load news" and everything will come back. Is this the way it's supposed to work? I thought only unread articles were supposed to sync but mine just keeps loading all the same crap again, as well as new stuff too.

If I try to add a program to my home scree, none of the apps recently installed (e.g mint.com, yelp, dictionary) show up in the list. But if I go to "All programs", they are there. And that's cool, that really work!
Now I would like to do something different: I have seen that some actions can "register" somewhere to be added in the Android menu, when you long press on the Home like this one:

So my main question is the next one:
How is that possible to register for this menu. I guess there is some line to add in the manifest, but cannot see where to do that!
There is a secondary question: once i will have succeed doing that, may I add a different number of shortcuts in my menu ( imagine That I would like to do that for a multi-account twitter client, I would like to see a different for each twitter account in this list.) So the number of shortcut is programmaticaly computed.
I justed remove some pre-installed apps from my Wildfire, then when I try adding Widgets to home screen, I see the first widget named as #a5ff0000/HTC. I tap on it, an error shown: The process com.htc.RosieUtility has stopped unexpectedly. Can someone tell me explain me what Rosie Utility is, and which app that it may depend on, or some reason causes it stop.
