i have a couple questions, just downloaded adw launcher and i wanna try it, but i don't know how to turn it on, and also how do i disable gtalk and will it affect anything it i do?

Just makes one more thing to do to bring it up from sleeping.Guess I will see what happens with accidental screen touches.From what I see you'd have to hit the on/off button(unlikely) or the home page button(more likely) to get it to come out of resting. Screen touches do not wake it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThis is not specifically related to the Gtalk app, but it is while using the Gtalk app that it occurs. As you may or may not know, UK users of Googlemail have recently been able to switch to a Gmail account. I did this and it caused problems with signing into Gtalk (even though there were no problems signing into Gmail via the Gmail app). I've since followed some advice found elsewhere to go into Gmail, then Settings, then Accounts and Import and to change my address back to @googlemail.com. Doing this has allowed me to sign in to the Gtalk app, and I can see my friends on the friends list but I can't send messages. I always get the message "This message couldn't be sent". Any ideas how to fix this one error in the Gtalk app?

As most of you know that after downloading it, pressing the home button gives you the option of which home screen launcher that you want to..well.. launch..either HTC Sense or Launcher Pro. Well this morning I picked Launcher Pro, but accidently clicked the "don't ask me this again" box before that, so now I'm stuck on Launcher Pro and can't get back to my, or any, HTC Sense launcher. I've gone all through my settings and can't figure it out. I'd like to either get back to my old HTC Sense home screen, get to the DEFAULT HTC Sense homescreen, or get back to being able to have the option to pick which one I want to launch.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been using LP for about a week (it's great BTW!) and this just started to happen so it could have something to do with the latest update. I've set LP at the default launcher and everything works great. However, if I ever long press the "home" button, go to an application, then press "home" again I get the popup asking me which launcher I want to use. I check the "set as default" box then select LP and everything is good again. It all works until I long press home the next time, then the remembered default is gone and I get the prompt again. I've tried rebooting, clearing defaults, etc.

I used ADW for a while, but when I am on ADW my notification bar get vanished. I dk how..so i switched to launcher pro. I had a random shut down once, so now I am thinking it because of Launcher pro.

What I am asking is when I IM someone and they reply back, the persons reply goes on top of my reply. The IM's are out of order. I tried to reboot etc but it keeps happening. It just started maybe about 30 mins ago.

I might check my email and facebook, etc., maybe every half hour and I'm wondering if I will save battery life by enabling WiFi or will that eat more battery?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been having typing issues with the HTC keyboard not seeming to support multitouch and I'm almost positive that it didn't i.e. when I'd hit two buttons at the same time only one would register leading to zillions of typos because I suck. Well anyway, I went and downloaded and installed the Skype keyboard, didn't like it, and went back to the HTC keyboard. Now it appears that after the Skype installation multitouch is magically enabled on the HTC keyboard.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've just noticed that launching the Camera and Camcorder (in the emulator) would result in a black screen (instead of the famous moving small boxes), i've looked for why this happening on the net, apparently that the camera is disabled by default when you create an AVD. Decided to create another AVD with the camera enabled and launched it and still getting that black screen. Anyone has any idea how to fix this ?

By the way, You can run the "camera preview" in the API demos with no problems, how come!
I am new to Android development and have trouble enabling / disabling the wifi & audio services. I get the appropriate manager instance using the getSystemService method. But I don't get any error when enabling wifi using:
wifiMgr.setWifiEnabled(true);
But the wifi is simply not turned on! Similarly I use
mAudio.setRingerMode(AudioManager.RINGER_MODE_SILENT);
or
mAudio.setRingerMode(AudioManager.RINGER_MODE_NORMAL);.....................
I definitely did not want to make a thread about this because I'm certain it has to have been made before, but I searched and searched and couldn't find a thread, so here goes.Ever since the update (the one like two weeks ago, the one that caused crashes and they pulled but eventually put back up) GTalk starts itself automatically. I already changed the settings so that it wouldn't start, and everything was great. But since the update, it randomly starts automatically. All the settings are still set to off, but it will start up whenever it feels like it. It's gotten to the point where almost every time I pick up my phone, I have to check Running Services to turn of GTalk.This is affecting everyone, I'm guessing? Has there been any news about it? Fixes?Also, somewhat off-topic, but I've been away from the forums for about two weeks. I've been on vacation. Have I missed anything big? Have there been anymore updates, besides the one which caused the crashes (and they ended up putting it back up, right? I didn't download the still glitchy version, right?).
