I know about Lock 2.0 but from what I've seen it's not too great. Anything else? Also, can someone give me an explanation on what better cut is? Is it like a different version of sense and home? Is it worth it, or is there something better?

1 - Last night, I put a background app on my Eris and downloaded a couple. Got the message just fine that they were saved to my SD card.
2 - This question in two parts.
A - Where the heck are they? I went to look for them in the settings area, and I can't find them in any "gallery." What am I doing wrong?
B - Once "found," how do I save them to a gallery that I can use to change the lockscreen background?
Again, I can't do this on a PC and rooting is not an option for me (one, I really don't know much about it, and two, I think you lose Sense UI which I like and don't want to get rid of).locate any files on my SD card. As a matter of fact, the only option shown in my settings for the SD card is "Unmount SD card." The Format SD Card is greyed, so it's not letting me choose it even if I wanted to. Is this a setting somewhere else?

Anyone can see this, without having to unlock the phone. Is there a way, using the stock messaging app, to keep this from happening? I don't want to add another third-party app just for that.

Do the messages get stored on my card or device? SHould i delete my podcasts that rest on my card?
I would like to take the lockscreen from aloysious and put it on senseless. I have root explorer and ninjamorph, if either of those will help. I figured I could replace the files using root explorer. I don't know where they are though, or if it could even work.

My phone seems a little more laggy than before. I'm running aloysius v11 and oc to 710 and was happy with the snappy feel and no lag. The aloysius dialer seems to be lagging a bit, going to a black screen for just a second then the dialer comes up. could i have done any damage to my phone with this lockscreen? Once I realized what I did, I did a wipe/dalvik wipe and nand restore. the restore took and my phone was just like before i did this lockscreen thing. but now seems slower. maybe my imagination.
Long time lurker, first time poster here. As a brand new andoid fan, I've learned a lot from everyone here and now I would love to get help for my problem. I have downloaded lots of apps, but now there seems to be a problem. When I click to download, nothing happens, and then an orange triangle appears with the words "download was unsuccessful, please try again." I have tried all of the suggestions out there, removing and replacing the battery and SIM card, turning Wifi off and back on, logging out of Google Talk (although I seem to be automatically logged back in w/out doing anything), using 2G, 3G and Wifi.

Download the app myLock (beta) from the market. (Don't download myLock complete beta) Go into the app, and press toggle lockscreen skip.
Now you can go to settings>security and make an unlock pattern. Now when you lock your phone and press the unlock key, you go straight to the pattern unlock screen and the app bypasses the htc lock screen. Pretty sweet. You even get the cool eclair clock on there!
I am using a lockscreen replacement (Grdlocks lockscreen delete),and my HTC alarm will not turn off without powering down the phone.Does anyone know if there is a fix for this? (Besides getting a new alarm app)I remember reading about this before and thoght I read that I can re-install the HTC alarm/clock. But i cannot find that thread (might have been at xda).

I was able to apply the rotary one here [THEME] Rotary Style Lockscreen for EE 3.0 or CE 1.1 [UPDATED: 06/08/2010] - xda-developers
However, I can't seem to change it to the first one, which is the one I really like. Metamorph goes through and applies the XML and apk, reboots, but always comes back to the rotary one.
Does anyone know where and how I can get this lockscreen?

View 8 Replies View RelatedYesterday, I noticed that the Social Networking app was not updating. I couldn't find any setting to sync it manually, so I figured maybe a factory reset would do the trick. So....after I did the reset, I noticed that none of my apps were downloading. They all said "downloading" but nothing was happening. So I ended up just restoring from a nandroid backup I did before the reset. Im glad to say that the Social Networking is updating now, but apps are still not downloading . I went to settings/applications/market and cleared the data and rebooted. Still nothing.

Once the money was there, the status went to purchased, but when I try to download either I get "download failed." The apps are Droid X/2 Overclock and Droid X Recovery Bootstrap. I've tried clearing the market cache, applying the market fix in build.prop. No dice. The phone is rooted, overclocked, and has a slightly modified build.prop (this postdates the download issue).
