My friend just got an iPhone and he is using an app called TextFree which enables him to send and recieve unlimited texts with the same app (you are given a different number similar to google voice). And I was wondering if there was something similar for Android.

When I recieve a text message, the lockscreen displays the name of the sender and the first few words of the message. Anyone can see this, without having to unlock the phone. Is there a way, using the stock messaging app, to keep this from happening? I don't want to add another third-party app just for that.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI noticed this was happening after I flashed xtrSENSE 4.2 a few weks back. I couldn't send or recieve emails on my phone. I went into the app and cleared cache/data and It works for a few minutes then back to normal. I've read through previous threads and have seen the same tips and tricks. Is anyone else having issues with their gmail? I'm not sure what else I can do besides re wiping (I don't think it has to do with the ROM I flashed so I'm not running to do this)

View 10 Replies View RelatedHow do i look inside my current rom to see if anything is out of wack with my framework? mms stoped working for some reason. i cannot send or recieve mms or video. if i wipe and clear cache and reinstall the rom it will work just fine but when i titanium backup all my apps and system data, thats when i lose the ability to send pics or recieve them. i have not deleted anything from the system but it seems as something has gone missing. any help is greatly appreciated . i am running second wave with latest radio.

I was playing with the lock screen and had accidentally set up a random lock code which I was unable to remember.Ever since then, I've not been able to send or receive text messages. I can make calls, go on the web and and even update my Facebook status from my Contact Card. Any suggestions? I've soft reset the phone, hard reset it once more, taken out the battery, all that good stuff.When I try to send a message, I get this Error code coming up a moment later.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI can not send pictures via text message with the stock message app, Handcent, or Chomp. I had been using Handcent for the past 2 1/2 months or so just fine, it would send pics. Then all of a sudden about a week ago it just stopped. It just kept showing the turning green circle over and over until the sending failed. I updated it, I uninstalled it, I reinstalled it. I tried Chomp. I tried the stock app. None of them will send a pic to another phone or to an email. I can send pics to facebook with the facebook app. The stock email app will send an email with a pic attached however.

I found the option to change my outgoing text message under my settings, but now I just need to know how to use the feature. I tried it a few different ways with my son calling me while I was on another call, but I ended up dumping him into voicemail instead of sending the text message.

View 7 Replies View RelatedSo my inbuilt email app works with my hotmail account and i can send and recieve emails, but it doesnt syncronise so when i delete an email on my laptop and then reload my email on my phone the email is still in the inbox.
Basically i just want an email app that lets me delete things and actually delete them rather than just deleting them on my phone and not on the actual server and obviously being able to send and recieve emails would also be good.

Anyway, in the space of 3 days I have used 100mb already & haven't really been using browser or downloading (I did obtain album artwork for transferred music files on Mediascape though). Is it possible that Timescape updates of Twitter & Facebook are draining my monthly allowance? I would check emails on the phone too. Haven't been watching YouTube or anything like that.
