So my I randomly got a notification tonight saying my SD card was corrupted. My Eris told me I had to format it, so I tried through my phone, and nothing happened. When I connected it to the computer, I tried formatting it through there and when I click on format (Using Windows 7 32-bit), it tells me there is no drive at drive F: Does anyone have any ideas? I used to have a microSD converter so I could use it in a card reader but I don't know where its gone too, and don't know if it would help anyways.

Been complaining about my moment something terrible. Went Friday spent the money and renewed my contract to get the EVO. The guy warned me about the battery on the Evo being bad. I didn't listen since my friend in work plays with his for 3 hours before getting a low battery. Got the Evo and charged it friday from 11am till 4pm. Light turned green full battery. Didn't mess with it much cause I got busy. Had 3 calls about 5 minutes each. Got on the internet for 10 minutes. Phone had gone down 1 bar at 8pm and didn't use it after that. Went to work at midnight to work overtime to pay for the phone, pulled it out at 2am "RECHARGE BATTERY". Ok, charged the battery from 2am till 5:30am. "full charge". Played with the phone about 10 minutes setting it up, made a 10 minute call, 8am when I got home played with it for 5 minutes. Took a nap, woke up at 1pm, RECHARGE BATTERY. Ok, charged it from 1am till 6pm. Green light, battery charged. Made 3 calls, looked on facebook for 10 minutes, sent 5 text messages, went down 1 bar. From 8pm till 3am I slept. Woke up at 3am, grabbed the phone, it was turned off. Turned it back on, powered up, "RECHARGE BATTERY", phone shut back off. THIS IS RIDICULOUS WITH THESE PHONE BATTERY.......

Running a Bell Galaxy-S with 2.1 and the OCLF. Recently when I lock my phone or it just goes to sleep (screen shuts off) I can't unlock it. The screen just stays blank and it requires me to pull the battery and replace to boot it back up. There doesn't appear to be any consistency with this error and I haven't installed any new apps in recent time that would have changed the phone around.

I manually updated my Eris the other night and I must say I am happy with the update, it has really helped with my battery. What I have done is installed Battery Indicator by Darshan Computing. This puts a battery percentage indicator in the notifications area. I have set the built in timer for an hour and when it goes off I make a note of the battery in form of a percentage. Here is what I have so far.
Hour/Percentage of Battery Remaining
1/98
2/85
3/82
4/80
5/77
6-70

Just got root today thanks to the great work everyone did to get it working for those who installed the leak. I've been trying a number of roms, but can't get any of them to connect to my work exchange account which is a dealbreaker for me. I thought 2.1 added the password unlock feature, but all the roms are saying "Exchange ActiveSync server requires security features your phone does not support" and I believe they've all been 2.1. What am I doing wrong?

I know you can get lockpicker for the incredible to disable this. I was wondering if there is a app for the X that will do the same.

Does anyone know why Google Voice requires an area code to call? I understand that the number it dials from could be from anywhere, so it may need an area code to complete the call, but how about an option to dial a default area code when the person does not enter one?

I posted this at another forum as well. I am not spamming, I just want to sell this because I no longer need it. I'm not sure if this is in the correct area, I am sorry if it is in the wrong area, but I am selling an Eris battery that I bought as an extra. I swapped out to a Droid and forgot about the battery. It was put on our bill, so it's paid for and I would like to pass some savings on to a member here. I only used this battery twice, two days. Asking $25.00 with shipping included to US addresses only. Paypal only on this as well.

Anyways, if your battery goes from 100% to 90% in less than 5-15 minutes, here's why.
First of all when your phone shows its fully charged, it really is NOT (UNLESS you charged it over night). In that case you will notice that from 100 to 90 stays a long while in between.
But if you charge it during the day and your phone has say 50-70% or whatever and you charge till phone shows is 100%. Your phone has NOT really charged to 100%, trust me!
To test, do this. Charge your phone when its down to 90%. Now plug it up, you will see the "lighting" icon showing charging. If your phone stops showing the icon the phone says it FULL to 100%. Most people will unplug and start using the phone. And they will see the phone go from 100 to 90 in no TIME.
But if you leave it plugged even if the phone shows fully charged for 1/2 to an hour you will get more battery life from 100 to 90!
So battery meter still not working properly. Come on Motorola, use your phones so you can notice these things. Stop using iphones for your personal use!
Here's the good things the OTA update did fix/improve.
This is at least the case with MY phone.
- X no longer gets hot while streaming video while on 3G. This was huge for me as the phone got very hot, but only on 3G, not wifi. FIXED
- When my phone was down to 30-40% in battery life. I would restart the phone and the battery would show 70% and stay there for a long while! For ME this is no longer the case. If its shows 30% and I restart the phone it will still show 30% after boot. FIXED.

I was just wondering what settings I can tweak to improve the X's battery life after the 2.2 update. I do not want to root or uninstall bloatware, though (I did that with 2.1 and had a bitch of a time getting the OTA 2.2 to install correctly).

Does anyone else's battery go from 100% to 90% really fast? Mine does even after the update a couple weeks ago. I didn't know if it was just my phone. I charge it fully then after a few text messages it's on 90%. GPS is disabled, battery saver mode enabled, brightness 20%, social apps sync over WiFi only and that is never turned on.

A few days ago I woke up really excited to get my Froyo update. The first day I had it I had an error that kept occurring because of the htc keyboard I had previously been using. After restoring the keyboard to stock that problem went away, but the biggest problem of all took the forefront. I can't go more than 5 hours without needing to charge my phone. Before the update I usually charged my phone daily because I am a relatively heavy user. After the update, I am not using my phone any more than before. Today I charged my phone 3 times. Some people have said it is the facebook app, but I uninstalled the latest updates. I have noticed many of my programs are opening up in the background on their own.

I had read that the froyo update helped battery life. Granted I have only had the phone 3 days, I am not noticing great battery life. I have everything shut off that I should, and I have done a factory reset right after the froyo update.

Just updated the Droid X, battery died, and I charged it to 100%. The battery is dropping like crazy. It just dropped 10% in 10 minutes of use. Anyone else? I have had consistently bad battery life on this thing.

I was at work yesterday. Up at 3:30 AM, at work at 4. Phone was on entire time. At about noon the battery was at about 50%. I was very excited about this. I put my phone down for 20 minutes, came back and it was down to 5%? Drained the entire battery yesterday and let it charge overnight. Haven't seen any problems. Didn't have anything like this before the update. I did a reboot and took battery out as well to see if it was a false read, but nothing...

This morning I woke up and my droid had 20% charge left in it and it was fully charged when I went to sleep. This has never happened until after the update but I also got a new droid the same day. So I dont know if this is due to my new droid or the update. Has anyone else noticed this?

Yesterday I clicked the update button on my droid, and now my droid is dead, all that appears is the motorola logo, even after pulling the battery. Of course technical support at Verizon has no clue what is wrong. The phone will not even turn off unless i take the battery out, the motorola logo shows until the phone goes dead.
As this is my second droid, I don't know that I want a 3rd one. My opinion is that the droid would be a neat smartphone-- if it worked. I doubt that anyone could ever consider using the droid as a business phone, since it randomly quits working. I've had many cell phones and blackberries and never had to return any of them.
I have the best buy protection plan, but not sure that entitles me to a new or different phone, since my droid is about 3 months old.

Forgive me if this has been addressed somewhere but there's a ton of threads that say 3g and battery so I couldn't find what I was looking for.Anyway, WHY does 3G use so much battery? I can see why if I'm on the internet or downloading files etc but when it's simply on in the background not doing a thing, why does that drain the battery so much??

I'm new here and a new Eris owner had it now for about a week and love it so far.I've read through several of the threads here about the battery and best ways to conserve, and I've tried to apply them (and I appreciate the info I've been able to find here).I'm conditioning the battery now (fully drained/charged it a few times), have set the brightness down lower, turned off bluetooth & wifi, set email checking to 2 hrs rather than 15 minutes. My question is about the effect on the battery of using facebook and peep/twitter as apps running on their own home screen.I have each of these two on their own screen so I can see updates but is this more draining on the battery than instead just having the apps as icons and then opening them up (meaning does this mean they are open all the time and draining battery)? Also, I have 3 email accounts setup but set to check every 2 hrs. Would this be more draining than just 1 email that checks every 30 minutes?

Which of these batteries do you suggest for my Eris? I am still in the 30 day period (and plan to upgrade if a newer phone is released within the period), but after that I am pretty sure I am going to get an upgraded battery.
The current options are:
2x BATTERY+DESKTOP CHARGER FOR VERIZON HTC DROID ERIS - eBay (item 280468408194 end time Mar-22-10 19:05:38 PDT)
or
Innocell 1750mAh Slim Extended Life Battery
The Seido one is larger and has a reputation, whereas the ebay one is slightly larger, but comes with the charger so that I can carry two. With the Seido, I would probably just do a complete replacement and not carry the extra. The ebay on is also vastly cheaper. <--not too big a factor, as if I keep the phone I will not cheap out on arguably one of the most important parts. However, as a colege student, the cheaper price is nice.

I was having major issues with battery drain on 2.1 (second leak) and after reading some threads here I removed the HTC battery widget. This appears to have solved the problem. Apparently the phone was not going to sleep when I had the HTC widget running. The awake time was nearly what the up time was. Without the HTC widget I do not have this issue.
Has anyone ran the Android Battery Widget on 2.1 and does it create the same problem?

As a Verizon wireless employee I get to play around a lot with the phone and today I found that the stock battery out of the HTC Ozone (which is a 1500 mah) fits under the battery cover of ourEris. It is a hair thicker, but it fits.
