View 4 Replies View RelatedFabulous or any other ROM/theme creator i was wondering if its possible to maybe link to a guide or a quick explanation or how to make my own icons like for the notification bar? I.e. The battery, 3g... Stuff like that and how to know what size and everything.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI could have sworn I saw something about a link to the Droid Incredible User Guide. The only link I could find by Googling it is invalid. Was there an issue with the guide and was it taken down? It's raining here this weekend and I though I would take this opportunity to acquaint myself with the guide before I get my phone next week.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI first want to start by saying I mean zero disrespect. I have the utmost respect for the moderators here and all the people who make this the most user friendly android forum around! With that said is there any way to have the thread ROOTING For Dummies + Extras stickied? This is nearly a request. Mat lock has made a great guide that has been proven to be a great tool. Im sure many people would agree that having it stickied would benefit many users especially the newer users trying to learn. Short and sweet, to the point.

You must be on the 2.1 OTA or 2.1.3 leak. This link will take you to information of how to get back to stock to receive this update.[url]
1. Download and re-name to update.zip
2. Turn your phone off, and then back on by pressing Vol-Up & End/Power until the phone starts.
3. Wait 15 seconds.
4. Then press Vol-Up & End/Power again - you should get a short menu, one entry of which will say something about "sdcard:update.zip"; choose that.
5. After the update applies itself, reboot.
This will change your Settings>About Phone to
Firmware 2.1
Baseband Version 2.42.01.04.27
Software Number: 2.37.605.4

Reasoning behind March 31st coming and going and nothing OTA? Looks like we've been bumped from Eclair to FroYo and this is the projected version. www.stevebirstok.com/android/froyoleak.zip Root files are included as well.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I just got my Google Voice invite today, and rushed through the setup process. I now can't for the life of me, figure out how to NOT use my Google Voice voicemail and just use the standard Verizon voicemail.
When I go to Settings>Call>Voicemail Service and toggle it back to "My Carrier" and then dial *86 instead of getting my Verizon inbox choices it gives me my Google Voice voicemail greeting and prompts me to leave a message.
I've toggled the "Google Voicemail" and "My Carrier" setting back and forth a few times to no avail, tried to reboot, unlinked and uninstalled everything and still can't seem to figure out how to get back to the normal Verizon voicemail box. I know I'll eventually get comfortable with GV that I'll just want to use that, but for the time being I'd like to use my Verizon voicemail. Not to mention that there were 4 messages in that inbox that I hadn't listened to yet and now I cannot find them or access them anywhere.
I am having trouble linking my Facebook contacts... I upgraded to 2.0 today and when I attempt to search for and link a Facebook profile to the phonebook entry, it tells me "no matches found." I've tried reSyncing and restarting, and nothing helps.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI rooted and installed Aloysius and I like it a lot! But I want to try the new Sense-Able or Evil Eris (or any stable rom that supports overclocking) - is this difficult to do? Everybody is posting about trying out all sorts of different roms on their phones but I'm having trouble figuring out that part of the process.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAnyone else having an issue with this? Not that I need it since I mostly use the search button on the phone. Just curious.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been using streamingradioguide.com to stream talk radio to my pc. You can pick a show and it will list all stations carrying it live at any particular time. Unfortunately most of the stream links are Flash. So I've searched for the station call letters in android apps and they're not there. The links from mobile stream center won't play either. Is there anything for Android that will search for call letters and play the stream?

no need to flame or i will hunt you down and eat your kids
I've seen the DROID users guide online and of course the one that comes with the device. But there are a Lot of things missing and honestly I don't want to have to always "figure it out". Is there some comprehensive guide available that details everything? For example, I'm using a widget that came with the phone, I think its the Power Control widget. There is one control on there (looks like a Refresh icon). I have no clue what it does. Lastly, does anyone know if Moto, Google, Verizon has a feedback forum. I like the phone and it has some really cool features, but I have some feedback (positive of course) to help them improve it.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI know everything is just starting to come together but is there a guide available that explains the rooting process? Even if it isn't specific to the X I would like to learn more about what I'm doing before I start following any step-by-step procedures.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThey sure didn't ship one with the phone. Is there a Droid (or Android 2.0) User's Guide on the web that gives detailed operation on all the Droid functions (including tips & tricks)? It sure would be handy!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a WebView in my Android App that is loading an HTML string using the loadDataWithBaseURL() method. The problem is that local anchor links (<a href="#link">...) are not working correctly. When the link is clicked, it becomes highlighted, but does not scroll to the corresponding anchor.
This also does not work if I use the WebView's loadUrl() method to load a page that contains anchor links. However, if I load the same URL in the browser, the anchor links do work.
Is there any special handling required to get these to work for a WebView?
I am using API v4 (1.6).

Mostly used for employee training and the like. Anyway its a must see whether your the curious type or you just want to know every little bit about the Droid. Let me know what you guys think.
View 4 Replies View RelatedHave there been any posts on a Droid Buyers Guide? I am going on Wed to buy one from my local VZW store, and I want to make sure I get a good one. For example, manufacture date after xxx, or serial number higher than xxx, etc. Have there been any noticeable differences?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI run the risk of getting flamed for this... but I deem it a worthy thread, as things are constantly changing. I haven't found an up-to-date thread that has satisfied me yet.
I recently joined the Android community with my purchase of the Moto Droid. After a few days, I became interested in the rooting process and gave it a go... upgrading to Froyo. There have been several ROMs I've tried out, but I'm very hesitant to try more due to backups.
Will somebody provide me (in words or a link) the best way to backup all of my applications and data when testing out a new ROM? I tried Titanium Backup (and even donated), yet I never have successfully restored from a backup. Some applications and system data restore, but a ton of apps don't install, and I have to re-enter my email accounts (and appropriate sync settings) every time. This and the number of apps it doesn't restore (especially Swype) makes it not worth messing around with.
I read something about Nandroid backup, but that just looked like it was a backup in case something went terribly wrong with a ROM or something of the sort. Also, it looked like in the Simply Stunning (ChevyNo1) 4.2, there was a built in backup script... but I'd like to be able to venture between ROMs.
I want to be able to backup all of my apps and system data (gmail accounts, sms, etc), install a new ROM, and reload all of my apps and data.
There are a few ways to change the color of the clock, notification bar, and pull down menu.
Standard disclaimer: I take no responsibility for anything you do or screw up on your phone.
AdamZ has updated method A (now called Droid Customizer) and it now changes all notification colors. It will overwrite any other changes you have previously made to the services.jar and framework-res.apk files so the manual method is still useful for people who have already made changes and don't want to lose them.
A - [Release] Droid Customizer v1.0 *Updated 3/02* (edit 4/7/10: fixed this link)
If you are familiar with the installation process of the smoked glass themes then this is an option. Has 13 color options as well as 12 font options that you can use.
B - Manually (sorta) change everything. I did it this way because AdamZ's method in A wasn't out yet and I think the way described in method A might overwrite other changes you have made (not sure on that though)
This will probably look long with a lot of steps but it really isn't too complicated.
