HTC Desire : Video Recording Restarts Phone
Aug 14, 2010My phone constantly restarts after trying out the video recording. I've tried removing the battery and rebooting it again but it still keeps on restarting. Can someone advise me? Btw..my phone is not rooted.

Jul 29, 2010I just rooted my incredible with unrevoked and everything is workinhg except my video camera. I set the resolution. To 720p and I hit record and it stays on for 4 seconds and then restarts my phone. Please help. Wireless tether works though. I'm very happy about that.

Nov 24, 2010My Desire has restarted itself a number of times automatically. Twice it restarted when I powered it up. It powered up and then restarted. Three times, it restarted while I was using the Navigation app. I wasn't actually using the turn by turn navigation. I started it and just started up the map. It worked for about a minute and then the phone restarted. The restart while the Navigation app was running happened twice today.
Has anyone had similar experiences? Do you recall what you were doing when it restarted?
HTC Desire :: Restarts Constantly - Takes Time Booting
Aug 28, 2010I have a branded Desire, with Telstra software. These last few months have seen my desire constantly rebooting itself. This occurs 2-3 times a day without fail. It not only restarts itself, but takes a good 10-15 minutes to fully boot - constantly 're-rebooting'. I have removed ALL after-market applications, removed all data from the memory card, so it's back to how it was straight out the box (with the exception of user data - contacts, messages etc.). I don't feel comfortable with debranding / rooting the phone. Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be causing the restarts, and a possible way around it? There is no definitive process or application involved in the restarts, it is entirely random.

i created a folder "ringtones" within the "media" folder and placed mp3 files within it.
the only problem being, it only notices the files when the phone has been rebooted. Is this normal?

Jul 7, 2010Right basically you can find the UK T mobile internet settings on the T mobile website. On the Speed Test app, the highest speeds I get are 1.8m/bs downloads and around 500kpbs upload. However, those were at off peak times at night etc (probably when nobody is using the net).Generally I get anything from 0.3 m/bs to 0.9 m/bs though. Lately I've been experiencing some inconsistent internet speeds and reconnection attempts so for I've gone back to the default settings. Tbh though I'm not sure if it makes much difference.

Jun 10, 2010I have discovered an error in my phone which seems to occur only when connected through 3G (not WIFI).
What happens is the following: I turn/have the phone with 3G on and turn on the youtube app. I click on a movie and the whole phone completely reboots immediately; i.e. I get the whole "HTC quietly brilliant" intro screen and have to enter my PIN again.
I have downloaded a log scanner and ran through the above specified actions (phone rebooted again) and it saved everything that happened according to the log. When wanting to send the log to my e-mail, the phone rebooted immediately again(!). I turned it on again, shut 3G off and went on WIFI. After this I sent the log to my e-mail. No problems. My sister has a Desire as well and has no such problem...
So, now I have this log and was hoping someone would let me send it to him/her and have a look at it to find a clue as to what's wrong.. Maybe I have to bring the phone back or maybe it can be solved in a less troublesome way (read: I can keep this wonderful apparatus with me...!
HTC Desire :: Shutdown Out Of Blue And Constantly Reboots - Broken?
Aug 30, 2010Today whilst surfing the net via wireless (only for a few mins) my Desire shutdown out of the blue and now constantly reboots - all it shows is the O2 Welcome screen before rebooting. Tried stopping this booting by holding down the power key and now it's stuck on the welcome screen! Any idea of what I can do? I've already removed the battery, sim and mini sd card and tried starting again but I still can't get past the o2 screen!

My question regards a copy of Family Guy (Something, Something, Something, Dark Side) which I purchased yesterday. The standard DVD also comes with a digital copy on the DVD which, when inserted into the drive brings up a choice of transferring the file to my computer to be copied over to my Desire as either a iTunes file or a Windows Media Video (WMV).Ideally I want to avoid the iTunes route as currently I have no use for that program on my system so I would like to be able to use the WMV version. When I copied the file to my Desire, it didn't play and the phone didn't seem to recognise it. Can anyone please give me advice on how to play a WMV on my Desire?
