My phone suddenly powers off itself, then again switches on itself and gets hanged ( all of these times phone was connected to power cable for charging). I tried taking battery out twice and inserted it thinking that this may solve the problem but unfortunately it didn't help.

One big problem I've noticed is that when you need to have your phone switched off (e.g. on an aircraft, etc.) it's all too easy for the phone to switch itself on whilst in your pocket - the "power on" button just needs the slightest tap and then it springs into life.I know whilst on a plane I could pre-set it to in-flight mode before powering it off, but that's not the point. Like when powering the phone off, there is a delay and a set of menu options. I'd like something similar for powering the phone on - programmable delay and/or combination of pressing say home and the "power on" button.Does anyone know of an app or some code I could run to alter the way the phone behaves ?. Not sure if the only way to add this functionality is part of a flash update as it needs to survive a power off, etc.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis has happened to me several times in slightly different cases. Several times I've mistakenly placed calls to the wrong people (due to just messing around with the phone).
In a panic, I pressed the "back" button thinking that it will cancel the call. It didn't. I also tried the "home" button. Also no good.
I had to drag down the notifications bar to see the phone call in progress and finally access the red Hang Up button. That worked. The problem is that is is SLOW. And worse, one time the phone would not respond to the button press until after several tries (maybe the CPU was busy on something).
Anycase, that would appear to be a major problem with all these touchscreen-only smartphones - lack of a physical Hangup button.
Is there any workarounds to this? Perhaps some sequence or combo of the existing physical buttons to forcefully hangup an errant call?
Yep. So. It appears that roaming becomes activated from time to time on my phone. For no discernable reason. Anyone else had this issue? Or can anyone suggest a remedy.

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust bought myself the HTC desire HD 2 days ago and couldn't be happier except for one thing. Whenever I make or receive a call everything works but I can't hang up...the phone goes dead but the call is connected until the person calling/being called hangs up, and then I have to take out my battery to be able to use my phone for texting/apps etc, everything else works fine its just the screen refuses to light up again after I take it away from my ear.
If anyone knows what could be causing this or a fix it would be greatly appriciated.
This has only happened a few times (when i say a few times i really mean that... I put my phone in the car dock basically anytime im in the car) but I'm curious to know if anyone else has had an issue with their Droid powering down or power cycling when they simply remove if from the dock. If this is an issue with my droid only then I need to get a replacement but if not, I'll just handle it and figure its a known issue thats being looked at.

Iwant to activate the phone, but am having a couple issues i would like to resolve before doing so. When i try to use the camera, the phone powers itself off and then back on. And when i dial the *228 to activate it I have no dial pad to select the option to program the phone.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI use a Samsung i5700 (Spica/Galaxy Portal/whatever it's called this week) and ideally I want to be able to toggle 3g off and on (for the sake of battery). Problem is that every solution (Juice Defender, APNDroid etc) work perfectly for maybe an hour, but then 3g stops being able to connect, forcing me to reboot (at which point everything is fine until I toggle 3g off again as above). Having read about this stuff, it seems to be a problem for many people, not just users of this particular phone.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI bought a HTC hero (white, in UK) a few days ago - It worked totally fine until today! Now it switches itself on & off continuously! Unless I take battery off! The only way I can rectify the problem is if I take the SIM card out altogether, then it seems to stay switched on without a problem! I have also tried another SIM card just incase I had a fault with my SIM but it does just the same.

This has happened to me twice now, so I'm trying to find a solution before it happens again which does not involve a Firmware reinstall, with the associated aggro of reinstalling Apps and setting everything up again.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI purchased a 2nd hand 16gb Tabtech M7 Tablet off ebay. Its running Android 3.0.
Its in great condition but it has 1 problem. When I turn on wireless it turns itself off after a few seconds. It doesn't even turn on long enough to make a list of nearby wireless networks. I've tried a full factory reset several times and this hasn't worked. The factory reset only takes about 2 seconds which doesn't seem very long so I'm not 100% sure that the factory reset is working properly.
1) Does Google think there will only be one screen size on Android phones? The reason I ask is because I haven't been able to find anything on "variable" layouts in Android? I would like to create a layout with 2 webviews, one 80% of screen height and the other 20%. Is this even possible, or do I need to assign the height of each as a static "px" value?
2) How do I preserve the data in my views when someone switches between landscape and portrait? I doubt it's hard, but I've not been able to find it. Can someone post an example?
