Ok im trying to link my contacts to their facebook accounts if they have one. I tried linking someone today and they are not in my facebook list. It seems the list has not been updated since i got the phone cuz none of my newer friends are on there and all their profile pics are old. How can i update this?

Some of my contacts photos update, some never do, some do it randomly. Yes I sync, I update through the contact, I've tried everything I can think of. Whats the trick here? Yes they are all linked because they have pictures but some have pictures from 5 months ago!

View 8 Replies View RelatedI just recently got my xperia x10 and had to almost immediately upgrade to the 2.1 system. I am noticing a few things that I'm not fussy about from the 1.6 system but the thing that is bugging me the most is that I cannot (figure out how to) link contacts in my phonebook to their facebook and twitter accounts. In 1.6, when you edited a contact it gave you the option to click LINK. I cannot find any of this on the new system. As well, for contacts that I had linked before, their facebook profile pic (current from the time when i linked them before upgrading to 2.1) shows up on their contact information (i usually only link facebook, as i dont use twitter as much) and their profile is linked. However when i go into EDIT, it says FACEBOOK, Timescape and a big exclamation mark that has a message beside it saying : Timescape Plug-In Manager contact information is not editable on this device. i SHOULD be able to edit and link all my contacts. that was the whole purpose of the xperia having this timescape program.

They have a strike through line on them. I need the social networking.apk and motoblur contacts sync apk. Can somebody up loaf or let me know how to restore them. I'm thinking about sbf'or will a factory data reset be ok?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have all of my contacts linked to their respective facebook accounts, but the pictures that show up when I go to my People never update with the facebook pictures, they have stayed the same since the day I linked the two regardless of how many times the person has changed their default picture since then. Is there any way for me to change this so the pictures in my People update with facebook? Since they are linked I assume they should be able to do this.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI got my DroidX on 7/15 and on 7/16 linked all my phone contacts who have facebook to a facebook contact via social networking. I kike how the phone sets the picture, I like that in the contact entry it shows me thier status on facebook. What I don't like is that when I open up a contac that is both a phone contact and a facebook contact and I tap the facebook icon on the contact screen I get 3 options (view profile, write on wall, and poke). If I open up a contact that is only facebook and tap that same Icon I get 4 options (view profile, message, write on wall, and poke). Is there some reason linking the facebook contact to a phone contact needs to remove that option? I'd like to be able to send a facebook message from the phone to any contact as easy as I can send a text message.

Otherwise, the contact on my phone from Facebook may be, and in many cases is, missing lots of relevant information. For example, many people don't keep their full address, or their phone number, on Facebook. If this is so, then no phone number or address is stored on my phone for the many friends who got in my contact list via the Facebook Motoblur magic. I can update these manually, via the phone screen-keyboard, but I would like to use the much easier-to-access PC to gmail user interface. I opened the FB app from my Rezound (ICS) and looked at the settings. The "Sync Contacts" option is set to "Don't sync"
Then I looked in the Android Settings --->Accounts&sync--->facebook where there are three boxes, sync calendar, sync contacts, and sync live feed. I made sure all those boxes are unchecked.
I figured I'd just try deleting FB from my Rezound but it seems to be undeletable if that's a word. It's like standard bloatware that I actually use on occasion.
So why are my FB contacts still merged with my Google contacts? I am seeing my contacts with their FB photo and this drives me crazy. I don't want FB communicating with my address book. Gingerbread didn't do this.
I am using 2.3.5 android and my contacts are in google contacts. I have also added my facebook account and some contacts are synced between both accounts.I use titanium backup pro for my backups but I cannot restore the linked synced (after some reboots, the stop being synced)
Is there anyway to make and restore a backup if the sync contacts information) using titanium backup pro or other app?
Am I the only one having this problem? I purchased my samsung epic a week ago and every since I've been getting the message that my facebook contacts is unable to syn at the moment an error of some sort,and too try later.WTH? My facebook calender syncs but not the contacts.I thought that it was th phone so I took it back to the sprint store they restarted my hard drive but it still didn't work,thy sent me to the repair center at another store and the general manager told me to go back and tell them to replace the phone and that I shouldn't be having issues so soon. Well I did that,they gave me a new phone and guess what.yep u guessed it,still the same issue.I went back to the repair center they played with it for 2 straight hours while I waited impatiently and still I walked away with the same problem. What the heck and I suppose to do now?

View 3 Replies View RelatedOk, so this is my first time with Android. When I first set the phone up with Facebook, it pulled EVERY friend I have and puts them in my phones contacts. After searching, I found that I can unsync them in my 'all' contacts list etc, but they are still showing up when I push 'PHONE' at the bottom of the home screen. They are behind the dialer. Is there anyway to set that screen to show recently dialed numbers or favorites or something?

I don't want to see a huge list of contacts every time I open the phone. When I go to the "people" list, and I go to "delete", it takes me to a new screen that only has contacts that I manually entered on the phone. It doesn't show any of the FB contacts, so deleting them is not an option. How can I delete them?
