May 14, 2010Using the default browser and click 'Menu --> Bookmarks' Then 'Menu --> Sort By' Then I select 'Mostly used' and hit OK.
It now sorts by 'Mostly used', but when I go back to my bookmarks, it often reverts to sorting by 'Newest'. It's usually fine when I immediately look at the bookmarks again, but when browsing later in the day it reverts back. I prefer to have my most used bookmarks listed first and having to reset as often as I do is annoying.

Sep 27, 2010Is it possible to actually re-sort an Android SQL DB? for example, I want to resort the Bookmarks DB. I can query the data and sort it with "Browser.BookmarkColumns.TITLE + " ASC" in the query but this will only sort the list shown to the user and will not sort the DB itself. Therefore, if a user uses my app to sort the Bookmarks by Title(ASC) and then goes to the Android Browser Bookmarks - the order will remain default (other than the one selected on my app).

Oct 5, 2010Just installed the latest update to LPP with the swipe gestures. Its brilliant, it really is. My question is simple really, and I'm sure Ive read a solution somewhere before, but here goes... On the bookmarks swipe gesture, which brings up your bookmarks, how do I make my Dolphin HD bookmarks show, instead of the generic browsers??? In other words, can I import bookmarks from Dolphin to the LPP bookmarks?

Nov 19, 2010I just switched from a Nokia N95 to an HTC Desire on Android 2.1 (Froyo isn't out in the Middle East yet I guess). I'm having a lot of trouble getting my contacts on to the Desire. On setting up the phone, it has pulled my contacts from Gmail & Facebook, which I don't really need. I will not be calling or mailing most of the people on that list. There are a 1000+ contacts on those lists and I don't need all of them on my contact list. I tried to use the Nokia Ovi Suite to sync contacts, but for some reason I was not able to transfer them onto the PC. So I copied them all onto the SIM card and then put the SIM into the Desire and exported them to the phone memory.
The problem is that on copying them onto the SIM on the N95, I have multiple entries on the list. For contacts with more than 1 number under them, there are separate entries for each number, with the same name. Is there a method to group them the same way they were earlier i.e. One contact entry with a Home, Mobile, & Business number? Do let me know. It will hugely helpful. The only other way I can think of is to sit and enter all the numbers manually!

Apr 22, 2010I have the "large" bookmark widget on one of my screens. Everytime i go to the websites from this link it comes up with a version of the site that is maybe a day or 2 old. For instance i just went to phandroid.com and at the top of the page it shows the latest article as "Android 2.2 allows Auto Updates" when in fact if i go on it on my laptop there are 13 new articles..... even when i refresh the page (on my phone) it does the same thing...

Sep 13, 2010When I first got my Desire I used the stock internet browser. I added a bookmark for netcarshow.com. After a while I started using Dolphin HD which I found to be far better, and started adding several bookmarks to Dolphin. Fast forward a month or so and I'm still using Dolphin HD and have been using LauncherPro for the past couple of weeks.
The problem is when I add the LauncherPro Bookmarks widget to a homescreen. It only shows the bookmark for netcarshow.com; my saved bookmarks in Dolphin are nowhere to be seen. They all show when using the browser, but not in the LauncherPro widget. I've looked through every setting for Android, Dolphin and LauncherPro but can't find a way to import/export the bookmarks. Also used Astro to look for bookmarks folders (to copy/paste) and viewed the SD card using USB on my PC, but unable to find any stored bookmark data. The LauncherPro widget is excellent but I can't figure out how to get it to display the Dolphin bookmarks, any ideas?

I am however, having problems with the bookmark display in that it is not displaying the web pages in the widget as it should be, it just comes up with the name and a standard image. I have tried just going into the page but it doesn't work.

I have a full page (4x4) to fill, and would like something that shows either a scrolling list or a collection of thumbnails of the sites. The stock Android widget only shows 6 thumbnails (non scrolling) and the HTC Bookmarks widget will only show 6 bookmarks, 5 of which are links to Orange webpages that STILL show after I deleted them! I have a fairly short list of about 10 bookmarks, stored by Dolphin, and I want quick access to them from my homescreen without placing individual icons.

May 17, 2010It's only a little niggle but I sort my browser bookmarks alphabetically but most of the time when I go back in they've gone back to being sorted by newest.
This happens without adding any new bookmarks!

Jun 11, 2010Looks like the bookmarks within the Bookmarks Widget are posted in the order that you surf and are NOT subject to any type of sorting. However the bookmarks within the Bookmarks Application launched from the browser's menu are sortable. Is there any way to make these two independent bookmarks list sync with one another. I know there's an application out there to manually sort the widget's bookmarks but I want them sync and match.

2) I use Handcent, trouble is when I recieve a text I get 2 notifications from the stock program and Handcent, how do I "turn off" the stock program anyone know? this is actually quite annoying!
Android :: Last And First Name Sorting In Contacts?
Jun 28, 2010I was very confused when I looked at the list of my contacts the first ftime after syncing them to the Desire. Only then I realized: this thing is sorting first names first! I find this most annoying and unusual. And worse: I found no setting, yet, that would allow me to choose the sorting.
