Anyone encounter yr phone keeps on auto restart by itself, if so can share yr experience and how u solve this. Been headach as I can't do a soft an hard reset or even wanna do back factory setting.

My issue is with Facebook service, it keeps restarting. Each time I go into Running services, it shows it again, When I forcestop it. It will restart 5 minutes later or so. I've gone into facebook and turned off notifications and everything. It's been draining my battery, wondering if you could shed some light? I don't want to use a task killer, had issues with it in the past. I also do not have a facebook widget on any of my scenes
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an HTC desire with Orange in the UK and up til now it's been pretty fantastic. For the last couple of weeks though, it goes through fazes daily of just switching off mid-use and restarting 5 or 6 times in a row. Sometimes it boots up fully before restarting, sometimes it cuts out mid start-up and goes again....it's rather annoying as I'm sure you can imagine!
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Desire is about 2 months old and has began rebooting at random times. At first it only happened if i was on a call whilst charging the phone. The phone cuts out then immediately restarts. The O2 screen appears, then the HTC screen then I have to enter my pin. On some occasions, It happens over and over again before I even get the pin entered. Since then, it has happened when the phone is charging and not being used, as well as when I am on a call, but not charging. The phone gets extremely hot near the bottom. I opened it and removed the battery and it is the phone not the battery that warms up. The battery stays cool. I have restored to factory default and installed no apps, but it still occurs randomly. O2 business said I can only have a re-furbished handset!! how does that work? surely if a product is faulted it should be replaced with a new unit. It was only 6-8 weeks old when i first reported it to them. Also the wall charger seems to get very hot, but only sometimes. Anyone come across anything similar with overheating handset or charger?
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy desire was taking approx 40mins to power down so I installed an task killer to show me what was running in the back round. I was astounded approx 25 apps were continually running in the backround so by killing these apps powering down now only take 15secs max. However, ive become a bit obsessed with this task killer. i keep checking what is running and there are things on there that i have never used such as "you tube", "news" "talk" etc. Could someone please point me in the right direction about how i stop these apps from running without me requesting them too? I know a lot of say task killers are not essential but it has certainly shown me the reason why my desire was running so slowly. Also one more thing, after powering off my phone, when restarting, ALL the apps automatically start running then? Is there a startup menu that can be editted for example?

I have been between the Desire, Galaxy S and the Desire HD for the last month but have been really turned off by the small battery on the DHD and have just found I can get almost all the feature on the Desire with 2.2. One answer I couldnt find is does the froyo update for 2.2 have auto caching of the maps? I use my map a lot as I travel all over the city and this really intrigued me about the DHD. If not not a big deal but would make me order the phone right now

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have somehow stopped my desire auto rotating to landscape on all screens and I have no idea how to resolve this. I have changed the view on the browser to always be in landscape just to sort out the problem however none of the other apps such as email and photos will rotate... If anyone can tell me where the setting is to restore this i would be very grateful. I have tried google and the user guide but just cant find it.

I configured my email account so that it only manually syncs, but when i open the widget it already does that. Do you have any opinions or ideas about how to solve this issue?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have set my updates for Peep and Facebook and Freindstream for every 30 mins, but in order for this to work I need to constantly be connected to wifi or mobile web. I am fine with this, but it makes the battery die so quickly. Any way I can make my phone auto connect to wifi or mobile web to do the updates, and then auto connect. Also, any decent facebook app that isnt the default one? I have also read that you can set different profiles up for work or home etc.

As this was user programmable, it was also useful for including things like - "hl" > "hello mate".
On to my point. I write " I'll " a lot but get annoyed sticking the apostrophe in. If I write it without the apostrophe, it's just the word "ill" so it doesn't change it to "i'll". On my Blackberry I made "il" become "I'll".
Or, if I type " il " and keep selecting " I'll " from the suggested spellings, will the dictionary eventually change its default suggestion?
How come the auto screen brightness doesn't seem to change how bright the screen is? The sensor itself is working fine, as using the proxylight sensor app (free on the market) it does actually register changes in light.Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
View 12 Replies View Relatedauto-rotate seems to have changed, it now defaults to the last orientation an application had since last used. so opening it again would disregard the current orientation. for example, if an app was last used on landscape and you hold the phone the normal way (not landscape), when I open the app, it would be on landscape orientation and I would need to shake it just to have it corrected. this is not good specially on browsing the internet, or the facebook app, or the gallery. not sure what other apps are affected. any way to turn this back the way 2.1 auto-rotate works?

I'm looking to copy selected albums to my phone but during the sync process I'd like them to be re-encoded to a lower bit rate so I can fit more on the phone. I'd like this done during the sync so I don't have to keep a second, lower bitrate copy of everything.WMP12 claims to be able to do this but, not surprisingly for a piece of Microsoft software, it doesn't actually work so I'm looking for something else that can do it. Is there anything else out there?Also, nearly all media managing software constantly just refers to syncing "playlists". I don't ever use playlists as I tend to listen to whole albums in order so I select artist then album, no need for a "playlist". Can I use these things to copy across whole albums without the need to create a playlist of that album and use that to sync?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm a new desire user and would like to know if there is a way (apps/setttings etc) to stop the phone from going to sleep and screen locking when it is on charge? I use it for listening to music in the car in a charging dock and it's a pain to have to unlock the screen and enter my password if I want to skip tracks. I have to have the password active because of the corporate email policy. Anyway of setting it so it doesn't turn off when on charge?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis morning I installed update 2.17.61.2 and since then I've noticed a fault with the auto-rotation feature. For things such as internet, SMS inbox, email inbox etc. the screen view is stuck on landscape and will not auto-rotate back to portrait when I tilt the phone
Also I tried playing Teeter and the ball doesn't move no matter how much I tilt the phone. I've tried resetting the G-Sensor Calibration but it doesn't resolve the fault.
Has anybody managed to get the news widget to auto-update? Twitter is fine just the news widget.

On to business: This morning I wanted to take a daft self-portrait of myself (a doddle on the ol' sony erisscon). It's really tricky and I tried self timer etc... So I looked in the big manual. Page 143 and 146 describe an auto capture function - for just such an event as a daft self portrait. Only problem is I can't find it!
I'm in camera - definitely photo not video - and then menu which brings up settings. All the settings are there except that one.
Any ideas? Would be handy to know where my "auto capture" option has gone!

Desire is not coming with NaviPanel software (unlocked or not) regardless of firmware version so this could mean that we will get an fw update soon (before 5 July) to include the NaviPanel app.
Until then the folks at xda forums managed to get the app to work with Desire and they even modded it to work with brut maps instead of maps.
Since the official car holder is scheduled for launch after a month and a half from now and is going to cost TWICE as much as the Nexus official car holder I'm wondering if it is possible to make any regular charger to trigger the auto launch feature?

I have done a search on this site and a few others in the hope of finding out a problem I have with SWYPE on my DHD.
I have auto spacing selected but when typing a sms using SWYPE, no spaces are automatically placed in between words. However when I use the SWYPE keyboard for entering in a calendar entry, spaces are automatically defaulted between words.
The version i am using is 2.4.44.10912 (has English language) and there appears to be a red circle on the space button for the message SWYPE keyboard but the red circle is not present on keyboard when I am entering in a calendar item.
I have uninstalled SWYPE and re-installed, but the issue is still present. Any ideas?
I installed froyo this morning and had to download all my apps again including dolphin hd, now when I use the pinch to zoom the text does't automatically fit the screen anymore, I've checked and the auto fit box is checked.

I've ticked the Update automatically button, in the weather settings, but when I go back to it, the settings default to not being ticked?? I didn't have this problem before. I was wondering if anyone knows how to stop the Desire/android from automatically connecting to specific wifi networks. I have a wifi network at home which I want the phone to always connect to when in range. I also have a wifi network at work, that I only want to connect to from time to time to update the calendar and download emails. Currently I have to turn off wifi when at work until I need it, but I've had this working before. I'm on my second Desire as the Orange 2.2 update fubar'd the first , my first phone would always ask me if I wanted to connect to the works wifi, the new one just connects straight away, and it will only be a matter of time before my twitter app gets me into trouble.

View 15 Replies View RelatedGot my new desire a few weeks ago on o2, I am having problems with the HTC weather & flip clock widget (the one you get with it), when I go to the weather settings and set the auto update for every hour (or any interval) I do not save the settings, the auto update is always unchecked when I go back to check. Done the usual things remove the widget and added it again to the screen but still does not work.

Recently, although it's still refreshing the sync time icon at the bottom every hour, it's not actually updating the widget with the new information. It takes a manual sync for it to refresh. Auto-sync is on, background data is enabled.
View 4 Replies View RelatedFirst of all I'd like to point out that I have posted this in the HTC Desire section because I'm not sure whether my problem is Android or HTC Sense related.I have linked my contacts to their facebook profiles so I can see thier pictures awesome.Except that whenever I compose a new text message and click on the people icon, I get a list of every single one of my facebook friends, and multiple entries for each - one for email, phone etc.Except obviously I only want to text one of the people in my contacts, but keep slecting someone's email address that they've listed on facebook, or the wrong person who shares the same first name. This is highly frustrating - random people appearing in my message recipients list is something I have never had to deal with before in my 10 years as a mobile phone user.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for an alarm clock app with one very specific feature - allow me to set the alarm tone to automatically stop after X seconds, then start again at the next snooze interval, and play for another X seconds.
Sure it seems every alarm app out there allows me to set Snooze intervals and stuff, but with my waking up habit, I don't like to physically have to touch the phone to get it to shut up until the next snooze interval. I like to lay in bed and let the alarm go for like 3-4 snooze intervals before I finally wake up.
I've tried Alarm Clock PlusV2, Alarm Clock Xtreme, Quick Alarm. None of them seem to have this.
