Is there such a widget/app that can place a button on the home screen to instantly lock the screen instead of pressing the power button.
The only one I could find takes 6 seconds before it locks.

There seems to be plenty of adequate little homescreen button apps to lock the screen. but they turn it off at the same time. I want the option for both. I already have one that turns the screen off, now I want a different one that just brings up the ICS default lock screen (the one that shows up just after turning the screen back on or at OS startup - if you set it to have lock security).
I'll put em in the icon group on the home screen.
It's cos sometimes I just need to lock the screen while carrying the phone for a short while [and don't want to touch something while grabbing it by the screen], then easily [without having to press the power button] unlock phone again to resume using it once I'm done carrying.

I'm using Jorte as my organizer and wondered if I can place my Tasks etc. on to a spare home-screen? I'm also using the App. Folderorganizer; Do I need to use this to do it or can I do it through Jorte? What other possibilities are there please? ( without me having to re-write my planner if I install another Calendar app. )

I have the button working with a pending intent, but I can't seem to figure out how to change the button image when it is pressed. I tried using a selector and it works in my widget test activity, but not in the remoteview. How could I implement this functionality in the home screen widget?

I know you can use the contacts widget and add people to that, but I really only need it for my girlfriend and I don't want a huge screen hog like the contacts widget. I use 'Soccer Score Centre lite' at the moment but I'm not happy with it - as I can't figure out how to track games taking place (apart my 'my club') and it doesn't lock the screen so my screensaver comes on and then it doesn't refresh properly. I know fotmob is a popular app as well - could I seek people's views on that? I'm after an app that shows you all the live games (and when clicking on them you can find out the scorers, the yellow / red cards and so on) and for it to show you the upcoming fixtures as well.I'm a championship support - not EPL - so it needs to cover all leagues. View 17 Replies View RelatedI am plan B and AVG security installed, both don't always work, I have pattern lock on the phone but even in pattern lock mode when i press and hold power button the phone gives me option to shutdown.
If someone steals my phone they will be able to shut it off without unlocking it since holding down power button still works. So is there a way to lock the power button from shutting off phone when the phone is in pattern unlock mode?
My phone was working just fine and randomly the lock button stopped working and the home button brings up the power screen!

What I mean is that I need a phone lock for security reasons - however it is a pain to use it every time I turn the screen on. Is there a way to have it work only when you turn the phone on? Right now if yu don't have a phone/screen lock security set if someone steals your phone they take out the sim card and use the phone normally ... if you do have it, then you must use the password every time you want to use the phone (I hate it). I know the best thing is to have a secured access but I was just wandering if it was possible to do seomething different?

I now use a skin on my phone which doesn't allow for easy access to this power button so I'm wondering if there's an app that I can use to lock my phone screen without having to press the power button. I have looked at "lock 2.0", however, it seems to be more for actually unlocking the screen.

One thing I found annoying was having to press the power/unlock button and then swiping the screen to unlock the phone every time, is there anything in the market or some setting to avoid pressing the button and just swiping the screen or possibly using the touch buttons on the front of the phone then swiping?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got my Milestone from Telus here in Canada. When the phone powers up, two 'sliding' buttons appear. A green one on the left to unlock the phone, and another one on the right to silence it.
When holding the phone in one hand, the green unlock button is too low on the screen for a comfortable flick with the thumb. If it were on the upper third of the screen instead of the lower third, this would be much easier.
Any way to move it higher on the screen?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAny app that has secure lock screen like with pattern or code unlock, but also has access to camera app straight from lock screen without unlocking the phone... though there would be another security needs to be applied that if the phone is used by someone else, they can use it to take pictures or videos but cannot go into gallery or review other data if the camera is activated by straight from unlock screen....and then, if one needs to access the gallery from there.. they need to draw secured pattern or key in the unlock code....

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for an app or widget or shortcut or something that will force the phone to lock. Right now the phone locks after 10 minutes. However, if a situation arises where I need to lock the phone immediately there's no option to do that. There is an option under Settings to trigger on power button push. I'm not a huge fan of that since I use the power button to switch off the phone when I don't need it (to save battery). If nothing exists I might try the power button option.
I have a Verizon Motorola Droid Bionic with Android version 4.0.4.
Any way to get Google Now as (not the shortcut) a widget or on your lock screen?
