HTC Desire :: Where To Find Stock Google Froyo ROM?
Nov 18, 2010
I am looking for a stock google rom (With No Super User) for my htc desire phone. Anyone know where I can find one? All the roms I am finding are modded. I'm just looking for something that can be updated OTA by Google.

I have used Lambrospowers (XDA Forum) Rosie patch to enable drag n drop when in helicopter (leap) view. It works flawlessly on my rooted stock Froyo Desire. If anyone is interested, I will provide more info on how to install the patch and where to d/l it from.My desire is rooted but S-ON and odexed. It only works on rooted phones.I love this feature that only comes on DHD & DZ as part of the new sense 2.0 ui as standard.

I've uploaded a pre-rooted version of HTC's latest ROM. This is basically stock with root, except I've disabled the annoying boot sound. It includes radio 5.09.05.30_2.To install you must be rooted with custom recovery. A full wipe shouldn't be necessary if you're currently on an official rom, since this isn't modified from stock. Do a nandroid backup before you install. There's no changelog from 2.09.405.8, but I've noticed my GPS problems went away.

I have a unbranded HTC Desire. I'm still on 2.1 which I rooted 3 months ago. I'm wondering on updating to froyo and keep root. I'm not interested in any custom rom's, I like stock one. The only thing I rooted at first is to install my app's on SD instead of internal memory. My device specs are:
Os: 2.1-update1
Baseband: 32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11
Sw: 1.15.405.4
HBOOT: 0.75.0000

how to go back to stock so they can get the official froyo rom. Why exactly?
- you may never be able to root again
- stock froyo apps2sd is very bad comparedto rooted a2sd+
- rooted roms based on the stock froyo rom will be faster and more stable than stock

Orange haven't had any since 26th August and won't have any until the 8th!?! What the hell is that all about lol my mate is going mad. He's called 'em up to upgrade, got a mint deal but now has to wait to receive a text to tell him that they are in stock (Like that is ever going to arrive He's been told that they receive them on an add hoc basis, sometimes 10, sometimes 700. Sounds a bit slack if you ask me. Does anyone think that there is a connection between a delayed Froyo release and low stock? Don't forget that they were blaming stock shortages on the success of the Galaxy S because it slowed down the production of the HTC as Samsung apparently manufacture the screens for both. wish I could treat my customers like this

Just wondering which kernel - in terms of performance and battery life would be the best to use with teppics rooted stock froyo rom.
I'm currently using this kernel with the sd card read fix and gpu+ fix but I'm wondering if theres something thats better in terms of performance and battery life.
Desire Kernel for Teppic74's ROM - xda-developers
I've heard many good things about richards v5 kernel but I don't want to OC or do anything crazy. I just need the sd card read fix... maybe the gpu+ fix and no OCing as I do want to keep my battery life as is.

I've been running the official OTA HTC FroYo update for a few weeks now and haven't really had any problems. However, today I noticed that the Google Talk shortcut when tapping a contact's photo has disappeared and has been replaced with another Phone icon. When clicking this icon I am prompted to choose from a list of completely unrelated applications to complete the action with? Google Talk is NOT listed on this screen. This icon only shows up on contacts who are online on Google Talk, so I assume that the 2.2 update has somehow broken the Talk shortcut in the phonebook?
I've taken a few screenshots to help explain the error:
I clicked some of activities listed, and most would do nothing/just open normally, apart from when I chose "People" and came across a dialer screen that I've never seen before:
It's listed under "People com.android.htcdialer" and looks quite nice but I haven't figured out a way to access it apart from navigating through the Google Talk error! Has anyone else seen this screen?

Ok, so I restored my phone back to stock, when I go to system updates, says my phone is up to date, however my phone is not 2.2 its about 6 months old.
Any thoughts? I'd like to update to 2.2 and then find a reliable "full" root procedure for 2.2.

I have this phone for probably two months now. Overall I'm quite happy considering I have an old one for more than five years.
However, I have two issues that are really bugging me. I think it might have occurred after the froyo update although I'm not sure.
My first issue is the GPS. I takes much longer than before to find my location although when it does it is very accurate. Lots of time it's more than five minutes. It was much faster before. I don't know what's going on!
Second I have 4G problem. If I serf the web with 4G, I'm fine. When I turn on my tethering more than 90% of the time, it will automatically revert back to 3G even if I have good connection (two or more bars). This is quite maddening to say the least. Was wondering if anyone has any ideas. Will a factory reset.

How's the music player find the music? I am currently just dragging mp3s or album folders onto a random folder on my sd card. The music player finds these songs and plays them but I am curious if there is a better way to organize media stored on your phone. I currently have ASTRO file manager but I haven't done much with it.

I'm looking for a stock unrooted FRG22D ROM to keep on my sd card. I used to have one to flash to set my phone back to stock, just in case I had to return it. I cant remember where I got it and can't find the thread it was in.
I found the file here is a link to it http://www.droidforums.net/forum/rescue-squad-guides/80664-unroot-back-stock-2-2-without-sbf-rsd-lite-droid-1-only.html

I like the stock android launcher in Froyo, so since it isnt included i found the APK for it on XDA. It installed fine and everything but when i click the phone icon it says "this application is not installed on your device" or whatever. I'm assuming its looking for the stock froyo phone app. Anyone know of an APK out there for this, or any other way to fix this? I'd like to use that launcher but its kind of pointless if the phone button doesn't work.

I had an issue doing the OTA with Unrevoked3.It can work, but you have to do it manually.First, download the update and save it to the root of your SD card. The official one is floating around somewhere. I can't upload it here - it's 84 Meg.Anyway, all you have to do is boot into the bootloader:
1 - turning off the phone
2 - while holding down the volume up key, press the power button to turn the phone on (DO NOT RELEASE THE VOLUME UP KEY)
3 - when the fastboot screen appears, release the vol. up key. Use the vol. down key to move to <bootloader>
4 - press the power button to launch bootloader. Hboot will do some diags.
5 - Vol. down key to select <recovery>. Press power button to launch
6 - Phone will boot into recovery mode.
7 - Use vol. keys to select sd card:update.zip. Press power button to launch. Sit back and let the install do it's thing.
I am also still rooted with unrevoked3

Where can I find the stock Android 2.1 icons for my Incredible? I am using LauncherPlus Pro and would like to replace the icons on the dock bar with standard Android ones. But, they are not usable in LPP unless I have the .png files or an icon pack.
Can someone direct me to where I can download them?

So I upgraded to Froyo last night. Very nice update, amazing how fast this new version of android is. Along with some of the enhancements already mentioned, it seems the stock keyboard is much more accurate and I find my self not deleting so many letters.

So long story short...and a lot of work later.
I rolled back to 2.01 sbf and got the update to 2.2 and it failed. I rolled back to ESE81 (2.1) sbf and got the update...and it failed. I ended up getting FRG22 off another forum and i am updated.
Now I want to find a FROYO SBF file so I can wipe and get a clean install of Froyo.
Do you think one will make it's way into the wild?

All files needed are available on my web site: Android - whiterabbit.org unless you still need to root your phone or downgrade to 2.0.1, the files needed for that will be linked to from those guides. The purpose of installing this way is to use the original OTA updates from Google, and only modify them enough to have root access. When you are done, you will have a system that is capable of installing the next OTA (gingerbread) when it arrives. Hopefully we will be able to patch it in the same way to keep root. This is only for people who don't want to run custom roms, but still want to have root.

I'm trying out the ota stock froyo release for my Evo/supersonic and after installing the "adobe flash suite" or whatever they call it in the market, every time any sort of flash is attempted to load it cancels out and takes me back to the home screen.

so I took the leap the same night the froyo leak was out. I was on rooted 2.1 and followed the steps of intalling the ota and then re-rooted and installed the leaked froyo.I tried most of the fixes, but would rather wait for the "real" Froyo OTA. My question is simple, do I have to remove the effects of the OTA (downgrade the hboot) before I re-flash to a stock 2.1 or will the 2.1 reflash take care of that?
