I've made a folder called Photos in the root of the SD card. So now when I go into Photos I see a folder called ' Camera Shots' and all the folders in the 'Photo' folders. But I also see other folders on the card. For example my MP3 folders have album art in them - which also shows in Photos. How do I exclude Photos from showing certain folders?

Is there a way I can tell the stock apps (music, gallery etc) to only look in certain folders?For example, I have a folder /Music and I only want the music app to look there.The Gallery I only want to look at photos.

As it is right now Android does a stellar job finding your media and adding it to your gallery. I found this video showing how to hide a folder by renaming the folder using Astro and adding a "." to the beginning of the folder name.

For example, it just searched my SD card and came up with an "icons" folder that contains various program icons. Is there seriously no way to tell it not to appear in HTC album? On windows mobile we had to resort to registry edits to correct this, but I'm afraid we can't do that on android... Also, is there serious no subfolders? So I can't have something like: Photographs -> Family -> Pets
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe Gallery app that comes with my S III shows all sorts of "junk" folders that are created by apps (e.g. Re-Volt creates a "LOADING" folder with images, another app has created a "cache" folder etc.).
Is there a Gallery replacement that allows you to hide certain folders?
I think QuickPic allows this. Any more?

View 4 Replies View RelatedIve tried help that i found online, as in hooking up to computer and adding folders, but still, if i go to the gallery i have 2 folders regardless. "my pics" and "all pics". it doesnt show any folders. if i snap a pic itll be in "my pics", any other pic i add just goes into "all pics". this is frustrating as i want it neat and easily navigated... not going thru every picture i have.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy problem is nothing major but its just annoying and im looking for a fix, after formatting my phones memory card (the one that came with the phone) all the photo's that i take with the camera saved under "Camera Roll" in mediascape but are then also doubled up into an album, i was just wondering if someone would be able to tell me how to stop it the phone making doubles of the photos, the phone never use to do this before i formatted the memory card.

But even I unselect the "SIM" in the People application's view option, the Phone dialer's list (left) still has both SIM contacts and google contacts, they are double. I don't want to delete the contacts from SIM card, as sometime I may be able to use the SIM card in other phone for emergency call (in case of battery off, etc.). Any one can the advise how to do?

even my old samsung flip phone had this option. it's just useful to be able to put messages i want to keep into a separate folder rather than having to keep it in my inbox and lock it.
I connected my phone to my computer through disk drive so that I could manage the Gallery. I found my Gallery in the DCIM folder and created three new folders within that folder.
However, if I go to the Gallery on my Desire Z, all my pictures are still lumped into one main folder. A friend of mine, who also has the Z said that his pictures are not in the DCIM folder, but somewhere else on his SD card.
Am I doing something wrong, did I create folders in the wrond location or is something else going on here? It should be possible to have several seperate folders in your gallery, right?
I usually view email with attachments from my pc because I usually lack the time to download the attachment. Today, I had some spare time so I tried to download an attachment. It downloaded fine but when I went to view it, I received a pop-up box to save it to the sd card. After pressing ok, I was told the save was successful but now I can't find it. Aside from pics and videos, how do I access other folders with saved data?

I've added a folder onto the homescreen and added direct message contacts to it, which is exactly what i wanted, better than the HTC People widget for me. How do you rename the folder? Because I'd like to call it texts and set one up for calls. But when I create another folder, it is again called "folder". So you can't differentiate between the two.

View 2 Replies View RelatedFor some reason, my inbox for my IMAP connection to the office email decided to empty itself on my Desire (2.1).An email arrived and I opened the inbox (not the email) and my inbox was empty.I have just popped in to the office (day off - typical!) and all my email is still there so it's not a total loss, just a little confusing since everything was working sweetly.The email server is based on an OS X 10.6.4 server in the office (not that this should have anything to do with it really).I've been through checking the settings and they're all OK. Only thing I haven't tried is removing the account and putting it back on. Might give that a try later on.
