HTC Desire :: Turning Into Killer Music Phone?

Aug 17, 2010

Have you any tips/advice? Music is the main thing I use a phone for but so far the Desire seems very lacking. We'll start of with actually putting music on the phone, as an ex iPhone owner iTunes was a breeze, organise the music the way you want then just sync, simples, With the Desire however its just not that simple, you create a folder called music and just copy all over, simple in itself, the issue however is there is no organisation, everything is through each other, just thrown on there so finding anything is a nightmare. Then there is Podcasts, On my Nokia X6 I go to podcasts, download what I want and like most phones the podcast goes into a podcast folder in the music player, nice and simple, not so on the HTC Desire, you have to get a podcast app, then you have to start entering long xml addresses and its just a major pain, again I'm sure i'm missing something.

HTC Desire :: Phone Turning Off

Jul 30, 2010

today my desire for the first time turned off by itself.it happened while the mobile internet was turned on and i was trying to load a youtube video. the phone just turned off. i turned it back on, and it turned off again.i managed to turn off the mobile internet, and the problem stopped. i tried watching the same youtube vid via wireless and the problem never happened.i then tried using google navigator with the mobile internet on and phone turned off once again. thing is i have had the phone for 2-3 months and this has never happened before. this morning my phone updated 3 apps, "quick settings", "advance task killer" and "google maps". could these updates be the source of the problem? o2 said to try the sim in another phone and rule out a network fault. still need to get round to doing that.

My native music player has started turning itself on at different times. I will get a triangle in my notification bar, open it and the music player is running and listed as ongoing. There is no stop button, only pause, and apparently backing out of the app does not turn it off. Should I look into a task killer for this?

There's something wrong with my Desire. Sometimes the multi touch doesn't work at all. In that case, I have to reboot the phone. I don't know why. This thing happened 4 times today. And another problem is turning on the Desire. Sometimes the phone vibrates shortly for 5-6 times and cannot turn on unless I take out the battery and re-insert it. What's wrong with the phone?

HTC Desire :: Single App Task Killer?

Jul 14, 2010

Looking for a widget with a single app task killer - one that can kill just ONE app.I want to kill, for instance, BeyondPod because it overtakes control of the music player when it runs (it gives it back, but only after the podcast is done). So, I'd like a "BP Kill" button.I don't want to kill any of the other processes, which is what other taskkiller widgets do.I guess the analogy is I need a scalpel and not a sword.

I want a task killer that automatically kills processes when they load. Some apps like HTC sense and the built in messanger app I would love having them killed instantly, is there one that i can get? Before you say, yes the Eris DOES need a task killer. Asked any eris user, once it gets below 30 MB of ram, it slows down to a near halt. They majority of thos for me is processes that load without me telling them too, and ons that I never use, such as htc sense or the default messager apps. I'm rooted btw.

HTC Desire :: Phone Not Detecting Computer - Can't Sync Music

Jul 28, 2010

I have an urgent problem with my desire and would appreciate any help. My desire is not detecting my computer when I connect the USB, I connect it and it begins charging instead of asking me about the connection type. As I was puzzled and thought this was very strange, I checked the "connect to PC" settings only to find out the "ask me" option was indeed enabled . When I connect the USB to the computer it begins charging and displays "USB" on battery status, but it does not actually detect the computer, nor does the computer detect the phone (even when I change the default connection type to "disk drive" it continues on charge mode). Has anyone any clue as to what is wrong with my desire? I am very confused because as I said, I select the "ask me" option but it does not "ask me", I really want to fix this as it means I cannot sync music onto it, any ideas?

I see that on the phone there is an option to do Auto backup to the SD card, which I have just ticked. My question on is is that..how long does it take to backup, and when does this happen? As I have had no messages to tell me if this is working.

Also, is there a way to manually backup the same data, using an app or something like that?
