Just received my Desire today. Like most people love the phone but wondering if there is something similar to Advanced Device Locks which I used on my N95? This phone really needs something like this where you can lock individual apps.

Every time i lock the screen the SIM locks as well, meaning I have to enter the SIM pin code every time I unlock the phone! Also no one can call me since the SIM is locked. Anyone else got this problem? This happened once in a while on 1.6 but since my update to 2.1 this morning it happens every time.

View 17 Replies View RelatedI currently own a i9300 and LG-F200L (2 phones for 2 SIM). I got addicted flashing rom and i found a cm 10.1 unofficial build of LG-F200 K that is similar to F200L. My question is: Can I flash the K rom to L and then flash the baseband,kernel for L?
Is there any merger for it? What can i do with my device? (Found 3,4 LG stock modded chinese, vietnamise roms)
I have the No lock app/widget on the phone but is there a different 1 that requires a code to be entered to lock/unlock the screen, so far no lock hasnt been unlocked(well to my knowledge) and called someone when in my pocket but it could happen in the future.

Wifi.
1) I've set this up and it seems to work, but I would just like to know what the advanced settings are for? I turned off the phone before and turned it back on and my wifi settings werent there and I had to re enter everything again is there anyway to ensure they are always saved? is it because my ESSID broadcast is disabled?
2)Is there anyway to make it so that whenever I am in range of my router, the phone can automatically connect to this?
Do you know if ATK uses much cpu/memory and battery when running in background, when using the autokill-feature when going to standby because it than needs to refresh the running app-list always.

But if I go back to the 'advanced task killer' few minutes after closing all the apps, I see all the apps are running again. And also I cant close the default music player with 'advanced task killer'.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have now installed a generic HTC Desire Rom on my phone all good there.When i copy the rootupdate.zip and boot into recover mode and then run the recovery-windows.bat file , i get a Device Not Found message.I have USB debugging enabled and i also have the USB drivers installed from the SDK and the Sync software.Any ideas as to what i can try?

I am currently waiting for t mobile's stock to arrive before they swap my SGS for a DHD. I've played with one for a few mins happened to be a HTC rep in a local phone shop showing it to the staff and I asked for ago which I did but didn't get much time on it. took a few pics (very impressive camera) scrolled around. Seemed sooth even if it has far to many stock apps IMO by the looks of things. Am I still doing the right thing will all the experience you guys now have of it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI ordered a combo kit from amazon, very cheap. I know some chargers lock up the screen, but this one had a review from someone with an Inc. saying it was fine. Anyway, wall charger locks screen, but shows it is charging, led lights up. Car charger works fine, no screen locking up.
So... am I doing any damage to my phone using wall one? Was thinking I would just use overnight when phone is off. Anyone else using one that locks phone?
I can always just toos wall one, and keep the car one, still great deal for the $4 is spent.
I recently was sent an OTA update and did it. Well , it wiped all my work Exchange settings out. I reconfigured and now I am forced to log in with a password AFTER I swipe the screen lock at the bottom.
This was occurring before the 2.2 update in Sept. and I used the No Lock App. Well now, the No Lock app doesn't even work. I work for a small company and they couldn't find the "Mobile" settings in Exchange that I have read about in other posts. Anyone know why this is happening and if there is a fix? I have other Android users at my office and they do not have to unlock with a password.
Since the latest update of Listen, my phone seems to shut itself off when I'm listening to a podcast and I get an email notification. This happened once yesterday and then again this morning on my way to work. Actually it's more like it locks itself and becomes unresponsive. I have to remove the battery and then power on again. Yesterday I couldn't see it, but this morning the buttons lit up and the led blinked even when it was locked up but the screen just wouldn't come on. Anyone else out there using Listen and have this happen to them?

When I press and hold on a widget to move it and let go of it in the place where it originally was, launcher pro locks up and I cant move through any screens.
The only way I can fix my problem is to press the menu button, go to applications and force close launcher pro.
It's really annoying, anyone else dealing with this or have a fix?
So I wanna uninstall stuff that came with the device. It is an unlocked device, not from any telecoms company. I wanna uninstall teeter for example and Peep and Stock as I do not use these apps.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I connect my Desire with a USB cable, the PC says "Device not recognised", and the phone keeps searching for a while untill it says it cannot find HTC Sync. No contact is possible, also not as diskdrive. What I have tried to solve this; Downloaded latest version of HTC Sync, gave it a fresh install (firewall and internet connection turned off), rebooted PC, rebooted phone, but to no avail. Also I checked the USB ports in Device manager, and at one port (the one with the Desire connected), it says "unknown device". It looks like no drivers are installed.
I also tried copying the drivers manually to the win32 directory, but this did not help. All this I repeated several times, browsed the web for hours and hours, made a handfull of calls to the friendly people at HTC, but neither of these solved the issue. To complicate matters; the first couple of days Syncing just worked fine, the two weeks after that not anymore. On some occasions, after a complete new installation-session, the device connected once, but not anymore after that. Since the calendar has become the center pillar of my existence, I am on the verge of becoming hugely frustrated. Hoping the truth is out there, and somebody of you guys knows about it..
While on holiday my HTC Desire starting reporting that it was running out of space. It could never figure exactly what was taking up the space unfortunately, but I assume one of my apps was using a stupid amount of data.
Anyway on the last day of my holiday the phone refused to boot at all. It shows the HTC screen, then the carriers custom splash screen (T-Mobile), then reboots and goes back to the HTC screen in an endless loop.
I booted the device into the recovery console and received the following errors:
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command
E:Error in DATA:data/recovery/log
(No Space left on device)
I'm aware that I could do a factory reset, but I don't really want to lose all of my apps, scenes and other data if I can possibly help it.
I found one site where a guy claimed to have been able to fix the problem by connecting to the device using adb and then deleting some files, but I can't get adb to recognise the phone. 'adb devices' always returns nothing.
So, can anyone tell me how to get my phone (which won't boot into anything other than fastboot and recovery) to connect to adb so I can wipe some files? Will the phone have to be rooted to do this? (It isn't).
Do I have any other options other than a factory reset?
I'm writing this for the HTC Desire, but it should work for all other models and most likely all other Android phones. The process was identical for my old Sony Ericsson C905 and my girlfriends SE W580i.
The problem is the phone is looking for the album art within the track itself. So, we need to embed it, because having a .jpg file in the folder will not do. The phone does not look for the album art there, so it's not going to find it!
1. First you need to download a freeware program called mp3tag. Install it and run the program.
You may donate to mp3tag if you like the software. I've been using it for quite some time and I gave them $20. Not much, but I hope it helped them
2. Secondly, drag and drop all the music that does not have album art stored within the file. Highlight a number of tracks, best to do this an album at a time. Now you can either right click in the empty album art box like the image below and find the album art on your computer.
I heard that you can un root your desire(rooted) and it can get the updates,is this true?
If so i thought this: Root my desire->get all the apps to sdcard and not on memory-> unroot->profit!
Is this correct, mods?
