View 2 RepliesThe only thing that i like from the iphone are the games.Has anyone ever been successful at porting iphone games to the g1?Or even just being able to make some sort of emulator just for the games?Any answers would really be appreciated!if someone knows how i would love to see the game rope n fly or something similar to it. it seems like a simple game, i want to start to learn how to write my own stuff for android and then i would just try myself.but however i don't know how yet. Also since most people have g1's with multi-touch i was also wondering about any multi touch games? especially the skateboarding game touch grind.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHey any good multi-player poker apps like the Zynga one for iPhone you could reccommend?
View 1 Replies View Relatedsomeone showed me their iphone I have to admit, my jaw dropped and I was drooling when I saw some of their games (i would that all games were freebie versions)
Question: why does the android platform not have games that are as good??
I remember seeing one games, I think it was called scooter - the whole damn screen moved as u mived the iphone left and right I only played for a minute - but it looked damn awesome why dont we have as good games! the persons phone: heck, it was only an iphone 3g - so u cant say it was better hardware or anything angry birds - I like - apart from that, I haven't seen any games I would even rate (ok, so angry birds is just worms game reinvented - but the subtle use of great graphics make it brilliant)
Important: I have an x10 mini pro which is STILL running android 1.6 - is this the reason why? are there better games on 2.1 and 2.2? or is it to do with the fact that there are better developers for the iphone?
Are there any multiplayer interactive games where someone with an Android phone can play with someone who has an iPhone? I'm looking for something like Words With Friends where two people who have iPhones can play scrabble together.

View 13 Replies View RelatedSo we all know iPhone has better games than Android. And I'm love the "Fruit Ninja" game which is like the only one I enjoy playing on my Evo because it has good graphics and above all it's fun. I was wondering if there is anyway to get iPhone games on Android phones? Or if we can request someone to make some of the iPhone games for Android.

Just downloaded it and am playing it now. Man, will EA bring the goodness to Android?
Theres probably all kind of other games too I'll find that I want on my Android.
Now the Desire has been out for some time, i was wondering what people were saying the best Apps or Games were that they have installed
List you Apps / Games. Mine are:
Apps:
Handcent
Launcher Pro
Post it desk
Astro file manager
Toggle Data Widget
Games:
Trap
Word Up
Solitaire
Papa Stacker
Seriously, emulation is not good for performance, but most roms running on gensoid look and play better that games developed for Android. Sonic 3 looks lovely, runs at 60fps and never stutters. It even seems to look higher rez than most Android apps.Android platformer games are nowhere near as good looking or smooth. So what the hell is going on? The hardware on top end Android phones (Desire, galaxy etc) is clearly capable.

View 2 Replies View RelatedBrowsing around the net at work today for Bluetooth Game Controllers, I came across a Mini Bluetooth Keyboard HERE - it's also selling on Ebay. It claims to be compatible with Android, but as we're all learning Android on one phone isn't the same as Android on another.
I'm wondering two things really: 1) Anyone know if it is actually compatible with Android and moreso if it's compatible with HTC Incredible
and 2) If it is compatible, once connected, can you use it in conjunction with Game Emulators (I have the popular one for GBA) so that I could use the buttons on there to play the games.
It's the perfect size for a game controller (too bad they don't also make one for that purpose) and would be much better than the touch screen controls which impede on the game.
Looking for the simple, atari games like missile command, tempest (I know there are space invaders and pong).

I have created my database using sqliteman browser b/c I have to insert a bulk data before the app starts. I have four tables in my db and call each in different activities and created all on the sqliteman. after the data is inserted I pull back the db onto the data folder of the emulator. it works perfect on the emulator but failed on the device. when I try to pull my db on the real device, it shows access denied problem

View 4 Replies View RelatedI know the "cool kid in school" thing to do is make fun of the iPhone market for having 1,000's of 'Fart apps'
But let's be honest at the end of the day it's really not true, and now coming from being a previous iPhone owner and now a Droid owner i can honestly say, the iPhone app market wins by a TON.
This is just a general QUALITY of apps comparison as well.
NO i'm not switching back... but man do i miss the iPhone apps...
Especially facebook.. and others..
You can REALLY tell the difference between the quality of iPhone apps vs Android,
So why am i starting this thread?.. Well i'm hoping maybe a developer could chime in and enlighten us on why this is...
Things i'm curious about-
Is programming in android worse then in the iPhone OS? is that why apps are WAY less in quality?
And you can't give the excuse that it's because things are new, when the iPhone market came out the apps were quality at day 1, many of them were.
So what's the difference? i guess software...
Well i'm sticking with android even though this exists.. in hopes that maybe future Android OS updates and SDK's will improve this very obvious difference.. right now i'm not impressed at all... the apps are all Slow, and they look horrible.
And for twitter? holy crap... iPhone owners back me up here, but the iPhone twitter apps are lightyears ahead of android twitter apps.
Just take a look at Tweetdeck for iPhone, and compare to to what i guess is the best android twitter app, twidroid?
Compare those and you'll see what i'm talking about.
there is a game for Android that is like Fruit ninja for the iphone?
View 49 Replies View RelatedSimple question - how is text-zooming implemented on an Android/iPhone device? Do they pre-compute frequently used bitmaps of a font and replace the text as the scale changes? Or do they extract the contours from the font files and render the text as vector graphics?
