HTC Desire :: Music Turns On Itself
Jul 2, 2010I don't know why, but sometimes the music player is turned on. It looks like some kind of stand by feature, maybe I accidentally push a button. What's going on?

HTC EVO 4G :: Music Player Intermittently Turns On
Jun 9, 2010Sometimes my music player (TuneWiki or MixZing)randomly turn on & even though I will pause they they will keep turning on.It normally happens when I am listening to Last.FM or FM Radio.This used to happen on my HTC Hero to.

Aug 27, 2010I have a desire running froyo, using an 8gb card. I'm finding that my music is skipping with increasing frequency. It is not consistent, a track will skip at one point the first time then somewhere else the next time.

Jul 11, 2010Can I ask how you put music on your HTC Desire? I will just quickly explain how I do it:
-Plug in the HTC Desire with the supplied lead (the one that also enables you to charge the phone via the mains plug)
-Select the Disk Drive (mount as disk drive) option, when I do this a window automatically appears on the screen of my laptop, and the option I click on is "Open folder to view files (it says "using windows explorer" underneath this option)
-Another window then opens up which is the contents of my phone (Comes up as Removeable Disk (F )
-From here I open my music folder on my laptop, position each window side by side, and drag'n'drop the music I want into my phone (displayed as Removeable Disk (F )
-I then go back to my phone, select "charge only", and a message briefly appears in the notification bar at the top of the phone which says "preparing SD Card"
-When I go into my music player it will either say "no music found" or (As I have done this countless times now!) it will show the music I have put on the phone with a message that says "unable to play this type of file", even though it is an MP3.
So my question is how do you all put your music on your HTC Desire? Is there anything I must do to ensure the music will play, or even stay on the phone?

Oct 15, 2010I am putting some tunes on there, and notice a lot of my music is in AAC format. It plays just fine, but is MP3 better? When I rip a CD to my computer (old Dell notebook w/ Windows Media or an old iTunes program), I can't figure out a way to convert to MP3s.

Apr 29, 2010This forum and the community has supplied my answers for Missing Album art, I use 'Album Art Grabber' from Market which is good (except compilations find the artist covers instead, but SD card loading is fine bypass) My problem is that my music, once moved to my HTC Desire phone splits into one track per Album (with Cover art =). So a 34 track album, aok in iTunes now lists as 34 Albums with 1 track each.In iTunes its fine. I use DoubleTwist (another fantastic application) to move the music over.Any body else bumped into this problem?

With regard to getting music and video onto the device, what's the best/easiest/recommended way?
Does it come with some sort of media sync app?
I personally use an ipod at the moment, synced to my music player in Ubuntu. This is one of the main reasons that I don't want an iphone - being tied to windows as a pc user.
Is it just a case of drag-and-drop, or can playlists be created and synced?
Also, does it support podcast subscription, management and download in the same way that itunes does, for example?

Mar 29, 2010Using the HTC music player and it is acting strangely. When I have it in my pocket (with the screen locked) it seems to keep skipping about between tracks. I can recreate this effect by tilting it backwards and forwards and it skips a track. I at first thought it would be helped by turning off the accelerometer, but there seems no obvious way of doing that. What I have since noticed is that sometimes the player detects my headphones as a headset (a headset icon appears in the top bar) and then I get these problems. When it actually detects them as headphones, which gives a slightly different icon, it seems to actually work perfectly. It seems to be just luck as to which it recognises as, and it makes it useless as a music player.

Like every other headset I got with phone it appears to have music control buttons but they won't work with music application that's built in to the phone. HTC Desire :: Can't Play Music From New SD Card
Sep 22, 2010I've changed my 4GB card for a 32GB one, and now everything works except playing music. Seeing as that was the main reason for getting the bigger card, I'm a little disappointed.I use a Mac, and copied a load of MP3 files onto the new card while mounting the phone as a USB drive, the same way I did for the original card. I've tried the built in Music app as well as MixZing and MoodAgent, but none of them are able to open the files, which I can see with Astro.I've tried reformatting the card (using the phone) which has made no difference.

May 5, 2010I have had my desire for 4 weeks now cannot not fault it except I have an irritating problem with mp3 playback.I have 16Gb memory card filled with about 14Gb of music,I just like to let the music shuffle which brings me to the problem I have is every time I set it to play music and either put the desire in my pocket or lay it next to me I can listen to sometimes 4 or 5 tracks and the music all of a sudden stops othertimes it could be 15 or 16 songs,it doesn't pause just completely stops.I have tried different music players,i.e the stock player tunewiki and 2 or 3 others and its the same.Its really frustrating while I'm on the train having to keep getting the phone out to reset the music player.

Jun 6, 2010I?m having an issue with the Bluetooth music streaming to my car stereo. it works fine but every 15-20 seconds it cuts out for a second or so and then continues.... I was really disappointed to find this appears to be an issue with these phones as my old N95 Bluetooth music connection to my car was top notch (and that is a 2+ year old phone!?)...
I got a 3.5mm audio jack, plugged the phone in to the stereo and it works a treat (even better sound quality). Now the problem I have is that when I connect the phone via Bluetooth to the hands free phone call function it automatically shuts of the music playing through the 3.5mm cable as the phone assumes I want to play the music via the Bluetooth!! Can I tell the phone to connect to the car stereo for the telephone function and via the cable for the music function?

May 21, 2010I was having trouble getting an album icon to show up when transferring from pc to phone. I ended up trying to sync the album from Windows Media Player but it started syncing EVERYTHING so I stopped it. Then when I plugged it into the pc again it said I'd only got 1gb of memory on the card when I started it was 3.6gb. I've officially only put 6 albums on about 400mb in total yet spent 2.6gb. I'm assuming the tracks I accidentally synced are the cause yet when I open up the drive there's no sign of them. Anyone any ideas how or where I can find them & remove them?
