HTC Desire :: Multiple Exchange ActiveSync Accounts Allowed

May 8, 2010

I am getting my HTC Desire next week and I am moving over from a jail broken iPhone. Now can the desire let me run two Exchange ActiveSync accounts? I use one for work and one for home. Can it do it or is their a 3rd party application that will let me do this?

HTC Desire :: Installing Application That Allow Multiple Exchange Accounts?

Jun 23, 2010

I have been told to install the stock email app and this will allow multiple exchange accounts on my Desire 2.1. But I am unclear as to how this is done and also can it be removed and go back to the HTC one if it does not work.

HTC Desire :: Increasing Number Of Multiple Exchange Accounts In Android Devices?

Sep 19, 2010

Is there any plan to increase the number of Exchange type accounts on HTC Android devices. Maybe in the new Sense Updates? Why did HTC not implement the code included in the stock Androind mail app (since at least 2.1), or at lease leave it alone! Since Hotmail has improved it's service to offer an Exchange style connection option there is a real day to day need to have at least two Exchange accounts on one device. I have been using the stock 2.2 android email client for some time and although it feeds into the unified calender app it does not feed into the Sense contacts ribon etc., I also goes high CPU at times (file conflict?) so is not a suitable workaround. And no I do not wish to use a third party app such as countdown, I like that with HTC's Sense system all things feed into a common thread - third party apps I have found have their own databases for email & calender etc. which I do not want.

HTC EVO 4G :: Support For Multiple Exchange Accounts

Jun 12, 2010

I was wondering if the Evo supports multiple exchange accounts. I have a coworker that has a stock nexus one and he is able to add multiple exchange accounts effortlessly. I know that there are alternative solutions like touchdown and roadsync but why would a stock nexus one be able to and we are not. I would rather not have to install a 3rd party app to get the same experience. Is this a limitation of our version of android or did HTC take this out?

Android :: Multiple Exchange Accounts (IMAP / POP3)

Oct 2, 2010

I just recently came from an iPhone and it seems the android is lacking on the email side of things, perhaps I'm missing something. Is there an app that supports:

- Multiple exchange accounts
- IMAP/POP as well?

I can't even find an app that supports multiple exchange accounts and the apps that do support exchange (touchdown) don't support pop3/imap.

Android :: Multiple Exchange Accounts And Calendar Sync

Feb 27, 2010

I have a Nexus One running the stock Android 2.1. I've got my normal gmail account that works flawlessly, and also my company's email hosted on google apps. Both accounts are set up, and both work for email, but only the gmail account seems to be able to sync my calendar. Is this a limitation of Android, a setting in the calendar, or a problem with the built-in calendar application? If I can't get the corporate calendar to show up, it seems like a pretty big limitation.

Android :: Multiple Exchange Accounts / Different Chat Clients

Dec 11, 2009

With Google Talk I'm automatically logged in with my main gmail account. Is there a way to add other gmail accounts to this? Or swap to a different account when I need to? How about non-gmail accounts? Can I add an AIM account, for example? Is there an app that can manage multiple chat accounts? I use Adium on my Mac to have 3 or 4 different chat accounts open (useful for work, people who don't have gmail etc.) and I'd love to do the same thing with my Droid.

Samsung Fascinate :: Multiple Corporate Sync (Exchange Accounts)

Sep 27, 2010

I've got two Corporate Exchange Accounts with which I want to be able to Sync both email and calendars with my Fascinate. My wife has the Motorola Droid 2 with Android 2.2 and it supports multiple Corporate Sync (Exchange) Accounts. (She has three exchange accounts - two part time jobs and one for personal). I bought the Fascinate, but after I got home realized it only will support one Corporate Sync account natively. I have downloaded and installed Touchdown temporarily to handle my second Exchange Account, but Touchdown also only supports one account. I'd much prefer to use the same application for both accounts so I can see my calendars overlayed.

As I understood it, Android 2.1 supported multiple exchange accounts, but I think Samsung made a decision to override that, by including an Email app on the Fascinate that only supports one account. Has anybody heard about Fascinate's Android 2.2 (Froyo) update and whether or not it will support multiple Corporate accounts? With the exception of not supporting Multiple Exchange accounts, this phone really hit it out of the park for me. Great screen, thin and light, fast, 3G Hotspot (so I can get rid of my aircard). I'm 4 days into my 30 days with Verizon. I hope we hear something about Fascinate's 2.2 update before then.

Motorola Droid X :: Phone Support For Multiple Exchange Accounts?

My wife just got the Droid Inc, which was my first experience with the android os and I have to say, wow! I love it! My only issue is the Droid Inc doesn't support more than one exchange accounts and I have 6. I have read that the original Droid did support multiple exchange accounts, but haven't seen if the droid x does or not. Before I go through the trouble of ordering one and waiting on it to come in, can anybody confirm or deny if the droid x does support multiple exchange account and if so, is there a limit to that number.

HTC Desire :: Way To Exchange ActiveSync?

Jun 23, 2010

I got my HTC Desire last week and Synced it with our Kerio Mail Server 6.7.0 patch 1. Had to add the line to allow unsupported devices as it was giving some connection issues and then worked fine after that. The problem has been with the syncing of the contacts. It syncs fine for about the first few syncs and then it gives an error on the phone "failed to connect to the server" But it syncs mail and the calendar perfectly. The issue is that the syncing of the contacts is second on the list of 3 items to sync as per the phone. So it syncs mail first - fine, contacts second - error and then calendar - fine. I removed my contacts from my mail on the server and it still didn't update on the phone. So wasn't communicating with the server as per the error. If I delete my contacts on the phone, it then connects fine to the server and I get my contacts back. Works fine for about a few syncs and then without adding or deleting any contacts I get the error message back.

I tried to delete the account and recreate it -> no change I give a try to Touchdown app, and it retrieve all folders. I don't want to use another app than the one given with my HTC, so here is why I post this topic.

HTC Desire :: Exchange ActiveSync SSL Problem

Jun 2, 2010

I'm trying to get my HTC Desire syncing email with my company's Exchange 2007 server, but I'm getting an "Error when doing SSL" error when I hit the "Sync now" button under "Accounts & sync". My searches on the forums seem to suggest that this issue usually arises when you use a self-signed SSL certificate, but my company uses a certificate signed by Comodo, so I would have thought that would be fine. Workmates using iPhones don't have any problems connecting to Exchange, so I'm left scratching my head as to why I'm having this problem.

It's also a little weird because, when I enter my username, password, server name, etc. it seems to update my mail alright the first time, but then comes up with this error every check after that, and always fails to sync my calendar and contacts.

Do Android 2.1 phones not come with the root certificate for Comodo or something?

Android :: Multiple Exchange Accounts / How Email Works On Android OS?

Jan 10, 2010

I am considering getting a Android based phone, something like a My Touch from TMO or the Nexus One Google phone, however, I have a question about how email works on the Android OS. First, if I have multiple email addresses setup, will they be setup separately or all in one main "mail" box? Second, when I receive a message and respond to it, will it reply from the email address that received the message or will it use a generic email address such as the GMail account that is used to setup the phone? I really like the touchscreen and the fact that the screens are larger than the BlackBerry and it makes the overall experience very nice, however, I am very fluent with the BlackBerry and it does everything I NEED it to do, however, I WANT to have a little more fun with browsing the web, etc.

HTC Desire :: Multiple Gmail Accounts Setup / How To Remove One Of These?

Sep 16, 2010

Android Version: 2.2 (2.10.405.2)
Network: Orange, CPW unbranded handset
Taskiller Used: Previously ATK - now none.
Issue:

I have two Gmail accounts setup on my phone, both of which use Google Apps, so the addresses are (at) example1.com and (at) example2.com as opposed to ending in gmail.com. I use my first account to sync my contacts, calendar and mail, and my secondary account just syncs mail. I then added an old @gmail.com account for no particular reason and now it won't let me delete it and gives this reason: "This account is required by some applications. You can only remove it by resetting the phone to factory defaults".

When I first added the account, by default it didn't turn on mail sync. I have left that unchecked, and also left contacts and calendar sync unchecked. Therefore, this account hasn't yet interacted with any apps/programs. Is the reason I can't delete this @gmail.com account because Android recognizes it as a 'proper' Gmail address? I have searched for similar threads, but ultimately the discussions there seem to focus on different problems.

Android :: Exchange Activesync Problem Desire HD - Cannot Send From Android Native Mail App

Nov 13, 2010

I have a brand new Desire HD. Up until 2 days ago, everything was working perfectly with my Outlook Exchange Account on the native Android Mail application. Running Android 2.2

Since then, there is something wrong with our Outlook certificate, and when I launch Outlook on my PC, I get a message that the name on the certificate is not valid. Ok, fine. So on the PC, I press "OK" and I am off and running.

On the Desire, I still get email, but if I try to SEND and email, it neither reaches the recipient, nor does the email end up in the "Sent" mail folder. When I go to "Accounts and Sync" and look at the Exchange account, I also see that i have a sync protocol error on Contacts syncing.

Now, I have installed Touchdown, and I CAN send email from here. Also, I have a friend who has an older Android phone that does not seem to be affected in a similar fashion connecting to the same exchange server.

Problem: The Touchdown app is kind of a pain from a user interface standpoint when you try to edit a contact. and it costs $20. And, I really prefer the native Mail widgets and stuff.

I am stuck using Touchdown at the moment so that I can send and receive emails, but I am hoping to find a workaround. Our IT people are working on the certificate problem, so maybe that will help. HOWEVER, I cannot afford to be without email every time there is a certificate problem.

HTC EVO 4G :: Exchange ActiveSync

Jul 28, 2010

I bought the Evo for my personal use. However, I was looking at an FAQ this morning on my company's IT site on supporting Android devices thinking it might be a possibility. Currently personally funded Blackberry, iPhone and Windows mobile devices are supported for connection to our Microsoft Exchange email services.

I noticed the following in an FAQ in regards to Android support, is this true? I thought the Evo supports ActiveSync?

Question: How can I access my corporate email on my Android device?

Answer: At the moment, XYZ does not support Android due to its lack of ActiveSync support (access to Microsoft Exchange email). When/If this option becomes available, updates will be posted through the Mobile Device website.

Question: When will Android be an option for users?

Answer: XYZ has decided that we will not support the Android for corporate email at this time. If/When Android supports ActiveSync we will re-evaluate.

Question: How about if I have a personally funded Android phone?

Answer: Presently, corporate email access is not available for any Android devices due to its lack of ActiveSync support (access to Microsoft Exchange email).
