HTC Desire : How To Connect BT Headphones To Phone Source?
Jun 7, 2010
I've got a set of Sony Ericsson HBH-DS970 bluetooth headphones. I can pair the headphones fine, but for some reason only the Media source on the Desire pairs with the headphones - the Phone part doesn't. Is there something I haven't done? Has anyone had any similar problems with other BT headphones?

How to connect two sets of bluetooth headphones with the same phone at the same time.
It seems to me that it requires os level changes. Do you agree? or can it be done with an app?
It seems like an obvious improvement, useful for two people running together, or on a plane together. I wonder why no one has made this happen yet?

Plugging in a headphone/speaker to the audio jack seems to terminate audio to Bluetooth. I would like to have audio both places out the headphone jack AND on bluetooth. Is that possible?

I've just set up Ical to sync with Google calendar so I can sync that with my Desire but when I plug in my phone, it starts looking for HTC sync and obviously can't find it as it's windows only. I've set debugging to come on as I read somewhere that would enable the phone to connect to my mac but it's not working. The computer can see the phone when I plug it in as a disk drive though.

Is there a pair of in the ear headphones with mic that's in between the apple headphones and bose ones? I've looked into the bose headphones, but that's alot of money to go into some wired headphones.. Does anyone have them, can you say they're worth getting for that cash? I use my phone alot for music, so good headphones are important.

Just curious about others' experience with the headphone audio on their Desires.I use etymotic ER-6i earphones. In a quiet room I set the volume to "1" (i.e., one notch above nothing) and it's still a bit loud. That's how sensitive they are. While playing music there is a very noticeable hissing & popping (more like a thumping). This noise can be isolated by turning the volume to "0" while the music is playing.Others have complained of this, and different people have claimed their music is crystal clear. I wonder if there's a common defect to many but not all desires. or if only those of us with particularly sensitive earphones can hear such quiet interference.Maybe it's something else causing it, like the wifi? I will experiment later.

I use in-ear headphones which usually perform at very high volume. That is to say, I have to put the volume very low on the phone for an optimal use.
However, my HTC Desire, even at the lowest possible volume, is still too loud for my fragile ears. Is there any way to fix this and change volume settings?

I have a question about the headphones supplied with the Desire. I've not got mine yet, but are they any good? I normally use sennheiser CX300 II's, are they as good as these or better? I need to get some more headphones as mine are knackered. I was going to order a pair of CX300's for when my Desire arrives, but if the ones supplied are as good, then I'll not bother and save the $$$.

Simple enough, if anything other than standard, which headphones do you use?
- Name
- Pic
- Price
- Recommend? yes/no
I'm stuck with the standard HTC offering at the moment, not great quality, may look into others...

I've searched this forum, but couldn't find the post that is same problem as mine, so I'm hoping you guys could help me out.I updated my HTC Desire a week ago to Froyo, and was having no trouble until today, when I plugged my headphones into my Desire, I couldn't change its volume when I played the music on the device. Even I pressed the volume controls on the left, it didn't change. It stayed in loud volume. I went to setting on Desire, and changed the media volume, but still nothing. I did the Factory data reset twice today, but still having the same problem. Also, this has nothing to do with the volume issue, but I cannot turn my cell phone off. Every time I tried to turn it off by pressing the button on the left top, it once does turn off, but few seconds later, it turns on automatically. I didn't know if I should create two different threads for each of them or not.

Got a Desire partly because once the 32GB comes out (on pre-order) I'll be using it as an mp3 player as well as a phone. Managed to find a good program to sync my music with it (MediaMonkey) and now the only other hurdle to this seems to be the volume levels which are too low for my liking. Will simply getting headphones with a volume control push the volume up further? I'm planning on buying some headphones for it that'll include a mic, volume control and maybe a couple of buttons to control the music, but is there anything that has all these? I'm not keen on bluetooth devices in the slightest, so just want some super-duper in-ear headphones really.

When I first got the Desire, the inline controls controled the functions of the HTC and Android music players, (not 3cubed for example.) Since installing Doubletwist music player, the controls now control Doubletwist only..? So now if im using the HTC player and press the > controll to pause the song, it starts playing the last song I had open in Doubletwist over the top of the song I was listening to in the HTC app. and the only way to stop it is to use task manager to kill Doubletwist.

When playing music or watching video using the headphones that came with it, there is a lot of crackling and hissing. If you go back to the home screen, there is a high pitched whistling sound (almost as if you've placed a microphone next to a speaker and are getting feedback as a result.) I can't seem to get any FM radio stations either. I've tried three different sets of headphones as well as the set bundled with the Desire and all have the same problem. Is this a known issue or should I phone O2 and get it replaced.

So I was cycling home from work listening to some music on my Desire through the headphones via Meridian music player. During the trip home the music muted for 10 seconds or so and then re-started. I checked the phone and noticed that I had a missed call. My phone was set to vibrate only. I didn't feel it vibrate in my pocket whilst cycling. When I've listened to music before I've always heard some notification through the headphones when a call, text or email has come through but I can't be sure that the phone was on vibrate on these occasions.
Can anyone confirm that when using the headphones with the phone on vibrate you will not get an audible notification when a call, text or email comes through? If this is the case its a bit annoying because if its an email I am happy to wait till I get home but if its a call I want to take it straight away. With no audible notification you have no way of knowing whats come through.

I've had the Desire for about 3 weeks now and it's a brilliant phone. However, quite often I listen to music from my Desire through my headphones to help me get to sleep. Unfortunately though, the lowest media volume setting is too loud through my headphones. It's seems to be either a choice of no music (i.e media volume turned to zero) or the next level up (which is too loud). Is there anyway to get a volume in between the two? I've tried apps such as AudioManager but to no avail

If I'm on the home screen of my Desire and I play the Play button on my (bundled HTC) headphones, both Music and Listen start playing. If I was already listening to music and I hit the button to pause it, the music pauses but once again Listen starts playing. Is there any way I can easily avoid this?

On my way to work I use the headphones attached to my Incredible to listen to iHeartRadio/Padora, etc. Once I get to work I make sure I kill the applications that I am not using, including the music applications. Once they are killed I remove the headphones from the phone. The problem is that once I remove the headphones, the music application automatically starts and plays over the speaker on the phone eventhough the applications were killed before I disconnect the headphones. The only way to stop the music from playing is to task kill it again after I disconnect the headphones.I am using the headphones supplied by the Blackberry Storm that have the microphone.

Having trouble to get the headphones to work consistently with my DX. I've only gotten it to work once and I have no idea how I did it...When the headphones are plugged in I can hear the caller but they can't hear me, but once I unplug the headphones the normal mic input on the phone works correctly and the caller can hear me just fine. Are there settings that I need to adjust in order for the iphone headphones to work with DX?

I have setup eclipse with Android SDK on the same Win XP machine.
