HTC Desire :: Stuttering During Playback
Oct 19, 2010I use MP3's imported to 320kb quality. Lately my Desire is stuttering during playback, the song will stop for anything from a fraction of a second to 2-3 seconds, then carry on. I've reformatted my card and put everything back on but it still does it. Has anyone else encountered this? I'm sure it didn't do it originally, but lately it's happening a lot. I've read about the headphone socket occassional problem, but this stuttering occurs even if I use the phone speaker. Do I need a faster card if my MP3's are at this quality? I'd be surprised, because most MP3 songs available to buy are now offered at this quality.

Aug 6, 2010I have recently been driven into by another driver and so am in phone contact with the other driver. I would like to record one of the calls where he admits liability and was wondering if this is possible on the HTC Desire (2.2 Froyo). Not sure if there's an app out there or if there's something already pre-installed on the Desire that will allow me to do this.

HTC Desire HD :: Video Recording Only For 1 Minute 20 Seconds
Nov 26, 2010When I want to record a video its saying I can record for about 1 minute 20 seconds. This is on HD 720p quality. I know its the highest setting but I should be able to record longer than this shouldn't I? I have 5.91 GB left of free space so just wondering if anyone has any ideas? The phone storage thats left is 1.01 GB. Could it be that its trying to save to the phone instead of the memory card, and if so how do I change that?

Apr 13, 2010I'm in the process of wring a music player that can play SID tracks (music from the Commodore 64), and everything is progressing nicely, except that I sometimes get audio stuttering.The stuttering only happens when the player is in the background, and another application has focus. It's most noticeable when a cpu heavy app(like Google Earth) is running in the foreground.I have tried adjusting the priority of my thread and increasing the AudioTrack buffer size, but nothing has solved the stuttering problem.I believe the problem is that generating the audio takes quite a lot of cycles (I'm at 15-30% cpu load), and that my audio thread is being starved and cant keep up with AudioTrack's constant need for data.I'm must be doing something wrong, I can't imagine that gui threads should be able to starve a high priority audio thread.I hope someone have some ideas on how to get my player stutter free, as I'm at a loss :)

Dec 31, 2009How can I minimize the stuttering of my graphics?I am using MANY ImageView's in my program (and JUST ImageView's). I change their positions directly, when I need to change them without using "onDraw" to redraw everything. Is it ok, If I do not overwrite onDraw? I have in average 10 objects which I added to the mainscreen-layout.These 10 objects are 5 trees and 5 flowers. The trees and flowers have 5 different states and therefore 5 different ImageViews which I all added to the layout, whose just are invisible. So I have about 50 ImageViews added to my main screen When one of these objects changes its state, I just make its ImageView invisible and the ImageView of the new state visible.Is it ok to do it like that?I realized that if I just use one ImageView for every object and change the ressource of it when its state changes, all objects, which are currently added to the mainscreen-layout, change their position to (0;0). That was the reason, I have so many ImageView's added to the mainscreen-layout.Is there a better solution for that?

Nov 16, 2009we all know there are problems with stuttering and skipping in Pandora. Here's some proof of what's going on when it happens. I hooked up my phone and grabbed the system log as I started Pandora and easily got it to stutter and skip. I added notes as to what what happening at each step.Perhaps this log will raise some awareness of the problem and if we're lucky all this will make it back to Sprint and Samsung and get fixed soon.

Mar 31, 2010I was playing some music today while doing some yardwork and i noticed it was stuttering at the beginning of just about every track it played. I listened to about 12-14 songs and it stuttered in the beginning on about 8 of them, somtimes it would also stutter a few seconds after that but would be fine after that until it went to the next song. Anyone else have this issue? I've got all the apps closed with advanced task manager, so nothing is running and eating up the processor or memory. Any ideas what would cause this or a remedy for it? Any help is appreciated.

Jul 23, 2010Well, its been about 32 hours with my EVO...and im loving it.
I admit, the battery worries me a bit. However, some commonsense things (and not so common sense, like the GSM/CDMA battery life change) have really helped. Task Manager seems to be the best overall task killer app, and keeping background data on but auto sync off seems to be a nice happy medium for syncing.
The major, MAJOR battery drainer? Google Maps/Navigation. The perfect argument for a car charger that can EVER be made. Ye gods.
So I unplugged it from my charger at 11 this morning. As of right now at 6:43 pm i have 41% battery left, have been fiddling with it for about half of that time, and turned disabled the data connection while i was in low signal areas during a short road trip.
Moderate use of Yahoo Messenger, texting, a few 5 minute phone calls, the occasional manual update of the Seesmic twitter client and a few other things have drained it a little bit...but a 5 minute stretch of Google Navigation? Did the most damage to the battery, knocked it down by 7 percent. Again...car charger. Need this soon. Anyone know of any reliable ones?
Other than that, great phone. Versatile, and I'm looking forward to the day that Android 2.2 comes to us for even more battery efficiency. Please feel free to ask me anything about how I have things set up, constantly trying new things out on this!
Samsung Captivate :: Stock Music Player - Stuttering In Middle Of Songs
Sep 6, 2010I am having issues with the music player, the music was crackling badly, I thought it was the headphones so I tried 3 different pairs and the same thing happened, it kept stuttering in the middle of songs. I am not at all happy about that. My mp3 player worked perfectly with the same music files, they are WMP files not mp3 because to me mp3 sounds compressed to shit. I said to because the sound quality blows away any mp3 player and when it isn't stalling and breaking up. I am considering flashing with Odin today and swapping it for number 3. I have not spilled anything on my phone or dropped it, I am so careful with it and I am curious if anyone else has this problem or does mine have a defect. I love this phone and really want to stick with it. I would like to use it for music because the sound when working is amazing. If it is a defect in my phone I will swap for another.

Nov 21, 2013My Nexus 4 (purchased directly from Google) automatically downloaded the latest update today. I installed it, and everything crashed. My phone is now caught in a continual re-boot loop. It gets as far as the little dead robot, and then stops with the message "No command", holds for a bit, and then starts the reboot again. Has been doing this for the last half hour or so.
How can I break the cycle, or reset, or something? Anything?
HTC EVO 4G :: OMJ 2.2 Kernel ROM Installed / Major Drop In Battery Life
Oct 4, 2010I did unrEVOked 3.21 and applied OMJ's 2.2 netarchy kernel ROM. I am not sure what my battery life was at this point but I was now on 2.2 after using eclair 2.1 for so long. I wanted to go to the new stock kernel so reupdated to OMJ's stock kernel 2.2 ROM. I also added back the Sprint TV Widget. Ever since, I have noticed a major drop in battery life. I usually get 30-40 hours on a single charge. Now I'm down to about 10. It is REALLY screwed up. I have CWM backups of all of the phases, including my 2.1 ROM. I might experiment rolling back if nobody else has any better ideas on how to debug?
I am using ATK but I make ATK kill itself so it is only there to help me kill procs. I noticed QIK and FRING seem to run all the time now whereas they didn't before I updated them. Not sure if that is related. TOP app shows me nothing special but system_server taking up most of the CPU like maybe 6% peaking while idling. Otherwise I just can't figure it out!! I used to be the one bragging about how awesome my battery has been (running original OTA1 which let me still use unrEVOked 1.0 to get simple root all this time). I am finally on 2.2 and I'm disappointed with battery life now. WiFi is WAY better but that is about it. My Nexus One does not suffer from 2.2 battery blues.
Android :: Can't Find Voice Recorder App With Two Major Features
Jul 29, 2010I've searched high and low, but I can't seem to find a voice recorder app with BOTH these features.
1) The app must have a home screen widget that allows me to start and stop recording without launching the app itself.
2) The app should let me dictate into a long single dictation every time I click record, rather than creating a separate voice file each time. The closest app I've found is voice recorder, but it insists on making each recording a separate file, rather than just appending a new recording to the end of the old one. Anyone know of a good app that can do these things?
HTC Droid Eris :: Major Charge After Factory Reset
May 20, 2010I did this factory re-set last night to try and take care of some pretty bad keyboard lag in the browser and a few other sniggly problems which seem better. BUT now I have a pretty major issue I have never encountered before. When I plugged into a USB on my macbook last night to charge only, the indicator showed it was charging. When I woke up this morning, it said it was still charging and only showed about 75% full. Huh? I thought. That makes no sense. Now I am in a conference, typing and tweeting away on my MB, with my Eris plugged into it and it shows the lighting bolt in the battery but doesn't show the green bar animation in that battery. Instead, it shows just above the level where it would get yellow. The red charging LED is on too.
Then, after about 1.5 hours of this, the screen goes dead. I hold the power button and the phone reboots (so it had been off). Once it goes through the process, I get the message to connect my charger. Not a warning of 10 or 15% battery. Just connect now and a big empty red battery on the screen. I plug it back in and back to a lighting bolt in the battery but no moving green bar, a red LED above that and the trackball flashing white. In other words, now that I've done a factory re-set, I am getting no charge when plugged into my computer. Haven't tried plugging into the wall yet. I will tonight when I get back to my room, but this is not good. Considering the crappy battery life normally, I plug my Eris into my computer when at work in order to keep it full charged all day. It's also shutting off while plugged into my computer! Since first posting at 10:30 AM today, It is now saying it is charging and showing the battery filling animation, but it's been "charging" since then and has not completed. Battery level is about 25% the moment I unplug it (Settings->Battery) and up time and awake time are identical.
Motorola Droid X : USB Connection Major Annoyance / Way To Shut These Off?

Is there a way to disable the haptic feedback (vibration) from the HOME keys - I have successfully stoped this function for the touchpad.:
1. My phone will access YouTube but does not play all videos. It plays about 30 % of the ones I select - is this a phone problem? Is than an update?
2. I charge my phone each night, 11p to 7a and plug it in to the car charger for longer trips (use a bluetooth while driving) - am I killing my battery?
3. What will be the major advantages of an upgrade to Android 2.0 which I hear is rumored for the Eris in 1stQ 2010>
Love the phone...can't wait to try the GPS 'Where Am I' app on a local golf course (can it identify the bar also?)
