How do I extend the number of rings when someone calls me on my HTC Desire?
It goes to voicemail far too early, but I cant see how to change it in settings at all.

had a nexus one since march and one thing that i would like to change is the number of times it rings before going to answer phone i'm on o2 in the uk, and use o2 answerphone, runing froyo.

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy friend just lost his Desire at an airport. The pattern lock is active, but that does nothing but protect the data on the phone - Not SD. The first thing they would do is to switch the phone off and replace the sim.
Now here is my question : Is there an app that will send an sms to a preallocated number if the phone is booted up with a different sim? I know some Samsung phones can do this. But having an app that requires your own sim to be able to find it if stolen is quite pointless.
I thought I'd share what I have done to extend the life of the battery.
View 11 Replies View RelatedBeen loving my new DHD however have this intermittent problem when making a phonecall all i get is a single beep and 'call ending' message. Today while outdoors it just refused to connect but working ok now.
It rings once at the receiver then cuts off so I was told.
I have plenty of signal and the person I'm calling can call me back after getting the one ring and wondering whats going on after the I've tried several times!
Loving my DHD, using for 5 days now.
I do have a problem/query which I can't find an answer for.
My screen goes dim after 10 seconds of no use and then a few seconds later turns off and locks the phones.
How can i extend this - when reading from the web, it takes me longer than 10 seconds to read stuff but I have to keep touching the screen.
First post, go easy! Bought myself an unbranded/unlocked Desire this week and still getting to grips! Anyway, I was previously on vodafone with another phone, and stuck a new Virgin Mobile simcard in my Desire. Everything fine and hunky dorey. Then today I've had my old vodafone number ported onto my Virgin sim card. That *works* in that people can call me on it etc.However, when I go into Settings -> About Phone -> Phone Identity the phone number is wrong, its the number that originally came with my Virgin simcard, not the number that is now associated with it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm running 2.1 on a HTC Desire and I have a wierd problem with my contacts.Prior to purchasing my Desire I used a Nokia N96, all my contacts were stored on the SIM card which I just popped into my new Desire.If I go into Phone I see all my contacts with their numbers displayed underneath, however if I go to "People" I only see the contact with no number associated with it, if I go to edit a contact it does not show any number at all.Also if I send a text from another number (which is stored in "People") the text delivers and show only the number it was sent from, it does not link to the stored contact.I copied all SIM contacts to the Phone to see if this made any difference, alas it did not!
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just got my Desire a few days ago, and so far i am very pleased with it (coming from a Nokia N95 8GB). I do find the contact handling somewhat counter intuitive however. For example , i have some contacts from facebook for which i have no other contacts created, but i need to add additional information (in particular phone numbers). I do not seem to be able to add information to a facebook contact. Do i really need to manually create another contact, then manually give it the same name and then link it to the facebook profile in order to have a place to add the phone number?

View 7 Replies View RelatedWell it's 1am, I've taken my phone from my pocket and found that the screen is on and it's two minutes into a call to a friend of mine who called me earlier in the evening! This seems to happen regularly. The calls are always to the person who last called me. I think it happens when I've been playing with the phone and put it back in my pocket having forgot to turn the screen off first. Does anyone have any solutions before my friends start blocking my number?

"61408707080" instead of adding the plus "+........." or simply "0.........". this then screws me when eve ri try to call them or message them, is there and easy fix for this or simply just don't link their facebook with contact?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just purchased my new HTC desire and i have a problem : 1) Adding a new contact number to either phone or Google account. Name/surname are saved but the phone number doesn't get saved; so when editing the contact, no phone number appears. Then, when gonig under Phone and typing the letters of the name just added, i can find it in the drop list of "guessed names" with the number right under the name. I want to be able to view my contact and see the phone number from the application People; and that's impossible now because of this problem.

One feature I liked on my Blackberry was the option to add your email address and alternative phone number to the lockscreen so that if you do lose the phone, there's a chance a decent human might contact you and arrange to return it. View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Incredible usually just rings once. If I pick it up, it says the person is still calling, but the phone isn't ringing. There's some setting about stop ringing when you pick it up. I do not have that set, so it should keep ringing to matter what.It is not consistent. Sometimes it just rings once.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI want to sync my phone contacts with the gmail account. I read several threads from this forum and tried to change from phone contacts to google contacts instead. However, nothing happen when I manually sync. The icon rotating indicated that sync was in process. Afterward, I checked on my gmail's contacts, nothing change. No contact has phone number. I even tried to create some dummy contacts but not work either.
View 3 Replies View RelatedOccasionally, a couple times a month, my Moto Droid will ring, the phone app pops up... but there are no sliders to answer. It rings and rings, and about the time that it's going to go to VM, the sliders will finally appear. Sometimes I miss the call, other times I can get it. More often, it will ring, and either the phone app doesn't show up at all, or it shows up but then disappears (phone goes black). I have to manually unlock the phone (I have gesture security), and then I can usually get to it. if the phone has gone black, I fumble around with hitting the power button, shaking it (I have screebl), touching the screen and finally the gesture screen comes up. Kinda feels like multitasking/processor priority issues they haven't elegantly worked out yet, but I wanted to see if this sounded familiar. Any apps that make it so that when the phone rings, processor priority is handed to the phone? I don't see the app killing other apps, just downgrading their priority to (nearly) zero until you're done with your call, or even just until you have answered your call. The flaw is just in the answering part. When a call comes in, I want my *phone* to be super responsive to that *phone* part of things, y'know?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Droid Incredible will only ring once sometimes. I've tried custom ringtones, default ringtones, I made sure that it is not set to "Quiet on Pickup (or whatever)". It's not like it goes to voicemail or gets cut off, when I look at the screen, the caller is still there, waiting. I answer it and everything goes fine with the phone call. The problem is my work requires me to be on call alot, and if I don't hear my phone ring that first time, I may not get another ring. It typically only occurs when it is laying on a flat surface, face down but it doesn't happen everytime it is in this position. It used to happen less than once a day, it now happens more often. Today it happened three times before lunch.Anyone know how to experience this or know how to fix it? Verizon had me do the whole *228 thing. it didn't help at all. View 7 Replies View RelatedI got my Inc about 2 months ago and at first I thought this was just a fluke, but it's happening all the time. Basically, if my phone is sitting flat on my desk and I get a call, the phone will ring for about a second before going silent. It still vibrates and still wants me to answer the call, but the ringtones have stop.
I even experienced this today driving in to work. The phone was sitting on my leg when I got a call. Same problem. Rang for a second and then silent. If I am holding it or it's in my pocket, it seems to ring without any problems. That "silent ring on pickup" or whatever option in the settings is not selected and I don't believe I have any sort of app installed that controls the volume of the phone.
I've had the DroidX a couple of weeks. This morning it stopped ringing on incoming phone calls. It does vibrate. Last time it rang is when I was playing with settings to have it stop ringing when I place if face down. I've undone that facedown setting. Ringer is ON. I've cycled it on/vibrate/off and back ON. Silent Mode is OFF Phone Vibrate is OFF Audible touch tones is ON and I hear tones on phone keypad Volume is Audible.I can select and listen to my ringer tune.
