HTC Desire :: 2.2 With Sense - Wifi Disabled Since Last Firmware Update

Jul 12, 2010

I think I've read on the thread about the Froyo 2.2 release, that a rom has been leaked that will work with Sense on the Desire? Has anyone got any links/guides to getting this to work?

Secondly, I've currently got my phone debranded but this has led to my wifi being disabled since the last firmware update, I know I'll have to root my phone to install the 2.2 rom but will this then mean I will have to input the network code as that's what I was told would need to happen if I was to reflash my phone with the unbranded rom again.

HTC Desire :: Wifi Disabled On Orange Debranded

Jun 30, 2010

An update came through the other day on my debranded Orange Desire. Anyway it has killed the Wifi. I've seen a thread on here about an RUU update?? That fixed it, but no explanation as to what this is or how it was done.

HTC Desire HD :: All SMS Disappeared After Update Firmware

Nov 9, 2010

Last night they were all there, this morning nothing. At first I thought it was just slow to load them, it sometimes happens & you wait for a couple of seconds then they all appear. But not today. I updated my firmware yesterday twice - first to 1.32.405.3 and then to 1.32.405.6 - but they were definitely there after the updates. I've seen some other threads with the same issue on other phones but they're all at least a few months old. has, disaapointingly, not got all of my messages either. It seems to have most of them (including the last one I sent) but somehow is missing some in between.

HTC Incredible :: Upgrade Phone With Sense UI Disabled

Apr 15, 2010

I'm looking into getting the Droid Incredible but had a question about all Android phones with the HTC Sense UI. I know that there is a wait for these phones to upgrade when Android has a version upgrade for their OS. If I were to remove the Sense UI from the phone would it be possible to upgrade immediately when a release is available? Take, for example, the Droid Eris. Would it be possible to disable/remove the Sense UI and install Android 2.1 and not have to wait? Or is Sense embedded in the phone to where that's not possible?

HTC EVO 4G :: Improved Battery Life With Sense Disabled On Phone?

Jun 21, 2010

I am curious to see if anyone has had improved battery life by disabling htc sense and running stock android 2.1. Since I purchased my evo I have been running sense and just recently disabled it from running by default and set it to run the original home by default. I have seen a little bit of battery improvement but not enough to come to any good conclusion just yet. To me sense makes the phone a lot better mostly because of the widgets so I'll end up switching it back after a while but I was just curious to see if there would be any major difference as far as battery life goes.

HTC Desire :: Stuck In Sense Force Close Loop After O2 Froyo Update

Sep 29, 2010

Just did the OTA froyo update from O2 last night. All appeared to go well and successful, past the point where I heard other people's got stuck. But when I slide down the slider and put in my password, it gets stuck in a force close loop for Seems to not be able to open sense and keeps looping round.I saw a post from someone saying they had that problem, but then they just hit the search button and got the quicksearch, went to settings, then cleared the data for the appropriate application and then it worked fine. But when I hit the search button, nothing happens. If I hold it down, I get the google voice search, but I can't seem to get to settings from there.Does anyone know another method to get into settings as I'm hopeful this will fix my problem as suggested by some others. I'd much rather that than take it back to O2.

I used to keep my SSID broadcast at home disable, and four computers have never had a problem using the network. Only my Incredible doesn't seem to be able to reconnect to a remembered network not broadcasting its SSID. In fact, if I turn off the SSID while the Incredible is connected, it instantly drops the WIFI connection. Anyone have luck having the Incredible use a network without the SSID being broadcast constantly? I'm using WPA2 if that makes a difference.

HTC Desire :: Wifi Unresponsive After OTA Update To 2.10.405.20?

Oct 3, 2010

I have spent the better part of a day with this and still am without functioning wi-fi. Let me summarise:decided to flash my Orange branded Desire with the stock Froyo RUU on Friday eve. created goldcard, downloaded RUU, all went well and very quickly. Noticeable battery life improvement with Froyo, even smoother when scrolling etc etc. All good Stupidly this morning, I decide to check for an update, without my goldcard inserted. Installed update to 2.10.405.20. Wifi dies I tried instructions to revert back to stock 2.1, using same goldcard. I had issues with this so had to create new goldcard on a new sdcard.after numerous attempts I finally was able to start the update only for the bootloader screen to display CID error: update fail!I know this has been answered on various forums (including here) but the info is now so disjointed and has not been update in about 3 weeks, that I feel a little lost now. Software spec:
H boot - 0.92.0001
radio -
software - 2.10.405.20
webkit - 3.1
baseband -
can someone please offer some help? I simply want to revert back to stock 2.1 again, find an RUU to get back up to froyo again, and this time, ignore the (seemingly insignificant) update that caused my wifi to fall over!

HTC Desire :: How To Get Back My Wifi After Update

Jul 2, 2010

Quote (in red) below from weirdNumber Mine is a Desire that i have previously debranded. I have formatted an SD card, copied over the downloaded zip file, re-named it, but it fails with incorrect CID. Do i need to create a Goldcard again?

I basically did the same thing that I did when I debranded my phone.

You need a goldcard (Lekky has a guide on his website) then I installed the
RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.21.405.2_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4. 06.00.02_2_release_126984_signed.exe from RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.21.405.2_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4. 06.00.02_2_release_126984_signed.ex - xda-developers

I said it was from Modaco earlier which was my mistake.

I suspect if your phone is already a generic one then you can just download the zip from that thread and follow;

Samsung Behold 2 :: No Update File Exists Message When I Check Update Firmware

Mar 2, 2010

The version of the software that is most current is version 6 (the phone shipped with version 3).

To ascertain version: Go to Dialer/Hit Star/#9999#

You will see the PDA; Phone; and Software Version numbers in this section
The T939xxxx6 for PDA AND PHONE and then
Software Version - ending in .006 on the last line.

I was told that the reason that I keep seeing the "No update file exists" message when I check "update firmware" is because I have the latest version.

At some point my phone was updated without giving me a message. I did notice the red and blue arrows yesterday. But there was no message. My SD card mounted and dismounted on its own and gave an error message, and then all references to the error and SD card disappeared.

If your phone is/has exhibited this sort of behavior, you may already have the update.

HTC Droid Eris :: End Key Function Disabled Since 2.1 Update

May 16, 2010

Has anyone else experienced any issues in relation to the end key function after the 2.1 OTA firmware update? I had spare parts installed when I was running version 1.5 and had the function of the end key set to "home, then sleep", and I would use the end key to lock the phone screen to prevent pocket dialing, etc. Since the update I received OTA this morning, the key has been unresponsive with the exception of it's normal function of the power off menu when holding the key down or ending a call.

The screen will time-out as set (I changed mine to 15 seconds so I can lock the screen more quickly) and lock, but I'd really like the function restored. I un-installed spare parts and restarted the phone as I felt that it might be causing the issue as my wife's Eris' end key is functioning normally after update. However, no such luck as the key is still not working for me.

Android :: Disabled Google Talk Startup / Disabled Stock Messaging App

Jan 20, 2010

Just wanted to relay my issues that occurred with Startup Auditor. I use a Moto Droid 2.0.1.

First issue: I disabled Google Talk Startup as non of my friends have an Android device. This caused an issue with the Market. none of my apps would download the updates and I could not Download new apps. The Market is somehow connected to Google Talk. After enabling Talk and logging back in my apps started downloading.

Second issue: I disabled the stock messaging app because I am using Handcent SMS. This caused my text messages to delete themselves. When I opened my messaging treads all that was shown was my side of the conversation. After re enabling the stock Messaging app my messages started downloading and showing up in the treads. Handcent must use some of the same things that the stock app uses and Startup Editor was killing.
