on ics now there is no volume for ringtone sound and notification sound (separate) like in GB.
on ics now they combine, if ringtone volume is low then notification volume also low.can i get separate volume settings ?

I have a cheap no-name 3G phone using Android 4.1.1..I want to change the sound settings. When I originally bought the phone I set the ringtone etc but now I can't remember for the life of me how I did it because I can't find a setting for sound anywhere.
BUT no sound anywhere! All the 'audio profiles' does is literally change the audio profile..I have downloaded the 'Quick settings' app but all this does is toggle silent and vibrate off and on.
I have the notification sound on and the volume is on high for the text messaging. The phone will vibrate when I receive a text however no sound will play.

When I stay in a hotel I like to set my phone to turn off all notifications except the ringer for incoming calls. Is there a quick, easy way to do this? My blackberry Storm had this as an easy to access option.

this just happened to my phone and I'm wondering if i should take it back before the 30 day mark.
Back when I got my phone, I transfered an MP3 from the computer to the SD card and selected it as ringtone. it is still there and still works.....but now, after the OTA update, when I go into settings/phone ringtone this sound is not on the list. How do I get it back?
Also, under notifications, in the list of sounds the ones on my SD card are not there. I have a sound stored on the card that I would like to set as the notification. I mounted the card to my computer to verify that these files are indeed on the SD card. The phone just isn't seeing them in the list of available sounds...but, they do play if I go into MP3 or Music app.
I have a none branded/unlocked Desire with firmware version 2.10.405.2, now, there used to be an option in older firmware versions, how old i can't remeber, to enable a sound notification for SD Card events, such as unmounting, mounting, etc, but this option seems to have been removed, at least on my phone, could someone please take a look through thier phone settings and confirm if this option is there, or not, i used to enable this option when connecting to the PC so i would know when the SD Card had unmounted/mounted.

Frequently I'll be in the car, and even when I have the Incredible plugged into my car stereo, it still puts music out through my Bluetooth connection and not the headphone jack. Under Bluetooth settings it says "Jabra Extreme Connected to phone and media audio", but there doesnt seem to be a way to say no no bad droid, phone only.
This seems to be the exact opposite problem all the posts I found searching had
I figured out how to add custom ringtones for alerts and calls but I cant for the life of me figure out how to set one for text, a different one for gmail, a different one exchange and so on. any ideas? Also, is there a spell check on this thing? I saw a setting under 'qwerty' but it requires predictive text to be on, which is a no go for me.

There was a setting on the Blackberry while sleeping, the phone would be the only thing to ring or make nose. Email notifications, etc., would be silent. View 1 Replies View RelatedI am currently an iPhone 4s user and really like the way that the switch toggles between no sound (vibrate) and sound. I leave me phone in vibrate mode for most of the day and in the evening I tend to switch it to sound so I can hear the alerts from around my house when I don't have the phone with me. I am thinking about switching to an android device (S4 or HTC One) and have a few friends that haven't been able to duplicate the behavior of the iPhone. They get sound with vibration or some other weird combinations that wont work for me. Is this a limitation of the OS or is it device specific? I basically want everything to vibrate (Ringer, SMS, Email) with the option of changing everything to sound, no combinations of the two. I also need to distinguish between types of messages by using different vibration patterns.
