General :: Moto Droid Razr Maxx Under ICS Stops Receiving Synched Emails
Jul 3, 2013I use the Verizon stock email app that came with my Moto Droid Razr Maxx, upgraded to ICS. Emails are synched with both my laptop and my Droid RM. Today emails stopped being received by my phone although the computer still receives them.
I have changed no settings. I can send emails from my phone just fine. How do I fix this? I want to be sure I lose nothing from my inbox or outbox on the phone.

Mar 16, 2013upgrading sd card from 8 to 16 gb. when copying from one sd card to another there is still 5 mb of uncopied files? first made sure the show hidden files was checked, tried a couple progs and to no avail all say directories are the same? is the additional data a swap file or a program.

Apr 6, 2010I've set up Hotmail to be the default email account and has always seemed to work fine (although the sync doesn't always work - when read on the phone, then deleted on a computer, this is not reflected on phone, if that makes sense). However, recently have been having problems receiving emails. I've tried entering the password again; even tried deleting the account and re-setting it up. The former doesn't make any difference. The latter seems to work the first time (with every email coming up unread), but subsequently fails to refresh with new emails.

Dec 10, 2009I'm experiencing some strange phenomenon on my HTC Magic. I have disabled my 3G, so I only use 2G networks.
But on random times, not very often, I suddenly get a message, saying I have new unread Gmail email. When I look at my Gmail inbox, my inbox is totally up to date! I think this is very strange, because I had 3G and WIFI disabled when I retreived these mails. Can Gmail email be retreived via the 2G network? As far as I know, email can not be retrieved via GPRS or other 2G network.
Samsung Fascinate : Not Receiving Emails - When Updates Come Out For This Phone
Sep 17, 2010Just purchased the Fascinate, and so far seems like a great phone. One issue I am having and searching around I see others are also having this issue. Issue being that the phone is not retrieving emails (IMAP) from my servers? I have it set to five minutes and I have to manually get them. Does anyone know when there will be an update to fix this issue?
Also one other questions, when updates come out for this phone, are they automatically installed, or do I need to login in somewhere to download?
General :: Receiving Text Messages From Single Contact
Feb 12, 2012I'm having issues receiving text messages from a single contact.I'm using the Huawei X1 - running Subpsyke's latest rom. I use GoSMS.The thread I speak of has 5522 messages in it - and I am unable to recieve messages. They send fine and I can't get them.
I believe that this may be because of the huge thread size. Is there any way of preserving these messages but creating a second, new thread for the same contact?
HTC Incredible : Exchange Not Receiving Emails Unless Manually Updated The Email
May 18, 2010I wanted to see if anyone else was having this problem. I have my work e-mail setup to work as an exchange activesync. Everything was great up until about 3 days ago. I noticed that i was not receiving emails unless i manually updated the email. So i looked in settings/Send & Receive and under the Set download frequency it was set to "manual". I think to myself that weird since it was set up to "as items arrive" before. I then switch it back and after an hour still no emails but i am getting them on my computer. They use to actually get to my phone before my computer. Anyways i go back and try again but it seems it keeps defaulting back to "manual". I really want to avoid calling verizon since the last tech support called i made took 45mins to resolve the problem.

1. Regarding font size. I realize there is no current setting for font size on this phone (that I know of) does anyone here know if the upcoming 2.1 update will include that?
2. I know there is a text size option for the browser. However, it doesent seem to work on most websites I go to (like CNN for example) I try setting it at different sizes and nada. So far my browsing experience hasent been that good because of this (having to constantly strain my eyes looking at website text) Any tips on why the text size option doesent seem to work?
3. is there anyway to increase the text size of emails and text messages?
HTC Hero :: App Contact Duplication?
Apr 27, 2010I have had my Hero for about 4 months now, and up until this week everything has been fine.I noticed at the beginning of this week that the People App has started to show my contacts in duplicate. This is happening to every contact. I don't have any actual duplicates saved in my contact list, it's just listing them twice in the app.I have checked and double checked that I don't have contacts listed as both Google and Phone, all my contacts are Google.I have checked on a desktop browser in my Google contacts and I don't have any duplicates saved.To note: This is only happening in the People App, there are no duplicates when I go to the "Phone" menu, and there are no duplicates when I use the People Widget or Live Folder Widget.It's a minor problem, but one that I hope somebody can help me with.

Jun 10, 2010I received my Evo Tuesday in the mail. I had my number ported over from AT&T Tuesday afternoon and my EVO activated. Since that time I have received only a few of the text messages being sent to me and some I send are not being received. For example:
1. I was having a conversation with a Verizon user, I got 2 of their replies, then I never got their 3rd one. They sent 2 more messages after that, never got those either.
2. I had a conversation with an AT&T person and we had about 5 replies back and forth before they stopped receiving mine.
3. A Verizon person sent me a random text and I never got it.
4. A Verizon person sent me a random text and I got it, but they never got my reply.
These scenarios have occurred over and over with both Verizon and AT&T customers. Sometimes the texts will make it, sometimes not. I don't know anyone else on Sprint's network to test it with them. I have literally spent the last 2 days on the phone with Sprint tech support, No one can figure this out.
- My EVO isn't rooted or doing anything fancy, it's pretty much out of the box.
- I am NOT using a task killer.
- I have updated PRL multiple times
- I have updated profile multiple times
- I have rebooted and removed the battery multiple times
- I tried downloading both chompsms and handcent to see if that helped but it didn't.
- I had an "RTN" (was also referred to by tech support as a ##something-or-other) hard reset done at the Sprint store (losing everything on the phone in the process). It didn't help.
Tech support was positive this would resolve the problem because all else had failed. Since it didn't, they're all out of ideas. I know it can take a day or two for routing to get straighted out but it's been 2 days and the behavior has not improved. It also doesn't make much sense if you're going back and forth fine one minute and the next minute it just fails completely. I use this phone for my job, and 90% of what I do on it is messaging. I really need to get this working. I do not want to go through the drama of doing the Sprint 30-day return and trying to get my AT&T account back. It seems a very simple thing to just be able to send & receive texts messages. My SMS service with AT&T was quite reliable.
HTC Incredible :: Not Receiving Text Messages - Why?
Sep 18, 2010I seem to in almost all instances not be receiving text messages. This is definitely hit or miss. I've determined it's not service related as it's only happening to me, and it's not location related. It's not related to the services of the people texting me. It's definitely not every single time, but it's a lot. My messages seem to be going out without a problem. After extensive testing I seem to have narrowed down this problem somewhat. There seems to be a problem with the messaging app on my phone. I determined this by downloading Handcent SMS. The moment I did this, I started receiving text messages again consistently and without problem. Uninstalling the program put me int he same place I was before. Can anyone determine what the problem may be with this additional information. Perhaps I have done something ill-advised to my phone so here is as much information about it that I can think of:

I am running a 2.1 rooted phone with (as far as I know) the stock ROM that came with the Incredible (prior to 2.2). I purchased the phone with 2.1 and it did an OTA update to 2.2. However there were so many problems with the update that I decided to go back to 2.1. I did this and rooted which seems to prevent the OTA update even though I don't have a custom ROM. In addition to Rooting, I disabled (using the method of moving the files to a disabled folder)

Aside from this and installing some apps, I haven't done anything that I can think of to the phone that may have caused this problem. There are only a few apps that I've installed that I didn't have before downgrading and rooting my phone.

I do occasionally receive a text message but it seems more "miss" than hit. As far as I know, I was not having this problem before I went to 2.2 (and then downgraded back to 2.1). Since I'm back at 2.1, I don't see how it should be any different from before unless I did something. Seeing as how it doesn't look like anyone else has had this problem after rooting (as far as I've been able to see in the forum). I'm hoping I've missed something. I've tried *228 option 2 (and option 1). Nothing else seems affected, not call quality or email or any data services that I can tell. I'm of course perfectly willing to completely reset my phone but only want to do that if it will actually do some good.
HTC Incredible :: Way To Fix Vibrate When Receiving SMS Text?
May 25, 2010My phone will not vibrate when I receive and SMS text message. I have checked and unchecked the vibrate box multiple times and nothing changes. It is not a big deal unless I have my phone on vibrate mode because I am in a meeting or something. During those times, I have no way of knowing if I received a message outside of pulling out my phone and checking it every few minutes. Anyone else having this problem or have any suggestions?

May 2, 2010I have uninstalled all my sms messaging apps except for the default HTC messaging app. Every time I receive a text message, I get 2 audio notifications, and there are two icons on the notification bar. When I pull it down, one of the notifications sends me directly to the message, and extinguishes one of the icons. The other icon simply says "you have an unread message", and when I click on it nothing happens, and the icon never goes away (unless you hit clear) on the notification pull down menu.It seems to me like I have two messaging programs installed, but I have gone over the list of apps for an hour and can't seem to find it.If it helps, the icon looks like a postcard, with a vertical line down the middle., black and white.

It should be possible to create a new contact App by duplicating an existing one, either in GMail Contacts (in a full-fledged browser) or directly in the Contacts app on an Android device. This would allow, for example, adding new members of a family or new employees of a company. Then, just the new name, email or phone number (or whatever) could be entered to replace the duplicated ones and leave the remaining fields all the same. As a former Palm user, I was able to do this on that platform (primitive as it now seems by comparison to Android).
