how to setup secret menu
I'm about to return my phone because of LED backlight issues. Is there anyway to check the phone to see if it was a refurb? I know for windows phones, I'm able to check within the system binaries to see if it's a refurbish unit. I was wondering if there's any secret menu or location to check this information.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm searching for some messenger with strong privacy and "secret" features. Better explained, I've found Telegram as a good alternative to Whatsapp with its encryption features, but it lacks one thing that I really need: I'd like to keep some chat very private: it will be very useful if the conversation had some kind of PIN-password-pattern unlocking features.
This is possible for sms (Handcent, for example), but I haven't found it in any Messenger service.

I'm trying to view my AAA password on my ZTE Warp but haven't been able to find a method that will work. I've tried the usual methods: 1) QXDM via the command "requestnvitemread ds_mip_ss_user_prof". Results in "error response received from target". 2) QPST EFS Explorer, but the nvm folder is locked so I cannot access. 3) CDMA Workshop via reading nv items, but 466 and 1192 both show "Access denied".

I know how to create a menu in my application with an icon and text on each "button" of the menu, but this menu is only visible on the activity where I created it...
I would like to know if it is possible to create a global menu which would be accessible from all activities?
Trying to connect to Facebook to make a statusupdate through my Android application.Got the whole thing running but I need API key + secret. Where can I create/get a hold of these?
private static final String apiKey = "<YOUR API KEY>";
private static final String apiSecret = "<YOUR SECRET KEY>";
Tried the same thing with Twitter and then I just "created" an application and recieved "ConsumerKEY" and "ConsumerSECRET", but what is the deal with Facebook?
My Android application uses a secret key to generate a token for authentication purposes. Is there a more secure way to store this than just putting this in the data store? I think for the iPhone, we store it in the keychain. I am aware of android.accounts.AccountManager, but this seems to give other applications potentially the ability to access the password (if the user selects the wrong option) and so seems less secure.

Can anyone tell me what this is and what this does? I figure the best place to ask is here.
I cannot take credit for this as it's mentioned in multiple threads here, I would just like to bring it to the attention of anyone that doesn't already know.Disabling APN when not required has allowed my phone to run for 3 days and still be at 70% battery.To disable APN I installed the app WiSyncPlus from the app store.This app can be used for controlling network/data access on your phone in multiple ways, but all I use is the very simple APN toggle widget.I only toggle APN on when I require data access for web/email/market etc. then switch it straight back off. When APN is off you can still use the handset as an old school phone, for calls and texting, but not mms.There are multiple options in this app for controlling syncing etc. very much worth a look if you use your phone for email too.I also have my Samsung switchers widget app next to the APN widget, so if I have a wifi connection available I use this instead of enabling APN to surf the web etc.There is also a free app called APNDroid that can disable APN but I haven't tried this so can't comment on it's usability.
View 24 Replies View RelatedCan anyone provide one of those developer codes everyone is using for the GPS, instead to change the Max earpiece volume in the phones ear speaker to a higher setting? I was in a loud setting today and I could barely her my conversations. I know this is possible because I did it like five years ago on a Motorola razor...surely this android phone can have volume algorithm changes also.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I tried to activate my phone, it wouldn't work. So I called Verizon from my landline and I told them and they had me activate it manually. They had me type in some random string of numbers to the phone dial pad and it took me to a screen where I set my phone's ID and other stuff manually (that the activation call would do automatically). I'm just curious as to what's in here. Does anyone remember the number? I can't remember it for the love of me and it's not in my call log.

I can get the incoming server setup fine but I can not get the outgoing to work. The other is my school email which is some sort of msn email account variation (username@email.itt-tech.edu which i log into through msn.com). I cant get anything to work for this accuont.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was able to successfully setup a POP account through the Setup Screen...in fact when I go back through Setup, I still see the account. The problem is I can't DO anything with it in setup (including deleting it to start over) and it doesn't show up in my Apps window with an icon! I see it on the setup screen labeled "Setup Accounts" but no matter if I tap it or hold it or swipe it or try to hit the menu key, it just sits there. There is a green button with the checkmark in it. I guess what I would think i ought to be able to do is to assign it an icon (or even get a generic one) and find the account listed on my app screen...I'm willing to reset it, but I can't even delete it to start!

View 7 Replies View Relatedsetting up UCCW so how the widgets created should be inside the UCCW directory..some of the new clocks, battery bars, etc. I downloaded come with just a "UZIP" file, some come with a UZIP file & an image and some come with a whole directory that has weather images, fonts, etc. inside.
In the posts & threads I found previously that didn't really explain how to set up the new widgets, they just said "put everything inside the UCCWoutput folder"....
now, if one widget I download unzips to a folder with all that widgets' contents inside should I just put that folder inside the UCCWoutput folder?or do the fonts go into the "fonts" folder on the SD card and everything else go into the UCCWoutput folder?
right now I have almost everything placed in the UCCWoutput folder...no folder for images or files or font or separate folders for separate widgets....and only a few of the widgets show up when I try to add one to my screens...I thought maybe that each widget should have it's own folder but from what I read in previous posts I found the explanations were pretty vague...."put so-and-so inside the UCCWoutput folder"....that doesn't explain anything really since some widgets have 1 file and some have a UZIP file, a font file and a bunch of images...

I use a bluetooth keyboard to type papers on, and was wondering if it's possible to use it in say SNES9x+ES or Mupen64AE or emulators in general? I'm currently waiting on a replacement keyboard from Sony so I can't test my emulators with it, if they can be used for emulators.
