Im using amazing FPS and i have to store the secret key in the java code. However I am afraid that someone would decompile my apk and find the key. I have decompiled the apk myself and could not find the key, but im no VM expert.

My Android application uses a secret key to generate a token for authentication purposes. Is there a more secure way to store this than just putting this in the data store? I think for the iPhone, we store it in the keychain. I am aware of android.accounts.AccountManager, but this seems to give other applications potentially the ability to access the password (if the user selects the wrong option) and so seems less secure.

I am able to store in the first two for there are only single instances of the data in the XML. The third class contains variables that repeat multiple times. I want to store an object of "third class" objects. I also have a SAX parser class. I am doing this within an Android environment (1.6).
Does this make enough sense without displaying any code?

I need to de-serialise a file into an object of a given type. Basically the method will do this:
FileInputStream fis = new FileInputStream(filename);
ObjectInputStream in = new ObjectInputStream(fis);
MyClass newObject = (MyClass)in.readObject();
in.close();
return newObject;
I would like this method to be generic, therefore I can tell it what type I want to in.readObject() to cast its output into, and return it. Hope this makes sense...then again, I probably didn't understand generics properly and this is not actually possible, or advisable.

Pretty much everything is under lined and I can't seem to find a way to change how it is interpreted. I have downloaded all of the Android SDK's and the Eclipse Plugin.
