View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy S2 which I dropped and can no longer use the screen. The phone boots up but the screen remains black. I cannot access the files via usb, and debugging is not on so I assume I cannot use adb. I have several files I need to extract from my phone, including some financial data from an application, contact list, etc.

Essentially, I'm trying to block internet access for certain apps while the rest on the device is connected. I'm running CM10.2 on a GS3.
I was looking at this free Kingsoft Office and here is what it lists among its required permissions:
"Access email provider data. Allows this application to access your email database, including received messages, sent messages, usernames and passwords."
It seems highly suspicious to me even without the usernames and passwords part. The app is in Google Play.
Password manager that can sync between multiple devices? The only one I found was Keeper but it's $10 for each install which would run me 20-30 bucks for 2-3 devices. My wife and I need to be able to access password/logins and share the data.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm interested in encrypting my phone (rootbox 4.2) including the external SD Card (if that's possible..?) but i need to know if you do it, then let's say you take that sd card out of the phone and plug it in your pc, how do you access the data? And is that still impossible to unencrypt the phone after it was encrypted (i mean on last android versions)?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy galaxy S2 fell and my digitizer is apparently non-working - I can see the screen sort of, but there is no touch response.
Anyway, I can't let just about anyone who I take it to have access to my data, since my contacts are stored on the google cloud, I have them all anyway, but I either need to:
1. Access the phone via PC and wipe the data by emulating the screen on my PC.
I tried using Kies air to do it - it recognizes the phone, but I can't open it through it because my phone is locked and it won't give me access otherwise. Of course I can't unlock it since the digitizer is dead.
I tried using software like droid-at-screen, installing the proper SDK components, BUT the phone never got recognized. It is my deduction that I have to enable USB debugging, which, again, I can't do since I don't have the touch interface.
2. The other solution would be to wipe all data manually, which I assumed was done holding the 2 volume buttons + power button, but all that ever got me to was the lock screen along with a "safe mode" in the corner.
At the first loading of flashed rom checkbox "Data Allowed" in the Mobile Network Settings ENABLED by default.
I do not use unlimited Internet therefore.
I need some flashable patch update.zip which I can flash after the rom for switching this option to DISABLE.
It is Really? Where android save this setting?
can't access http://developer.android.com/
View 2 Replies View RelatedYesterday I tried to install a custom ROM on my device (HTC Evo 3D GSM Europe) for the first time and it took close to 12 hours to get it from ICS 4.0.4 to ICS 4.0.3 (when my intention was actually JB 4.2). Let's just say that forgot to backup his Shipped ROM, then installed JB, was incompatible with the boot loader, tried desperately to find a compatible shipped RUU that worked with the CID, spent countless hours searching in xda-developers and then finally settled for a custom ICS ROM until some time in the future.
Now on to my problem. Prior to my Factory Reset, I had moved all applications to the SD card. A simple look-over in the file system indicates all the data is still there, but reinstalling the applications and even moving them back to the SD card doesn't seem to give them access to the prior data (saved games, stored profiles, lists and anything else I might have done). It's as if the app has been installed for the first time.
Is there any way to "link" the data back to the apps (after yesterday's endeavor I ended up with a rooted phone, at least)?
I think lots of people here hold back a little bit on how much data they expose to google. I have a specific question. When apps access address book, what address book are they accessing? The phone address book? What if it's a tablet, which has no address book, is it access your google contacts?
Quote:
YOUR ACCOUNTS
FIND ACCOUNTS ON THE DEVICE
Allows the app to get the list of accounts known by the tablet. This may include any accounts created by applications you have installed. Allows the app to get the list of accounts known by the phone. This may include any accounts created by applications you have installed.
I have an account used specifically for playstore and my tablet and phone. I also access my personal gmail through my tablet or phone, using a different account. Does that mean that Angry Birds knows about both the account used by playstore AND my personal gmail account?

I have a Nexus 4 and I activated developer mode by typing 7 times on the build number. Is there any way I can disable developer mode so I will not be a developer anymore? I switch off in the developer options but I was wondering if I can remove that from settings for good and to not be registered as a developer anymore.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am developing an application with TripIt integration and I make a call to their API and I get all my data in JSON format and save it in an object ListTripResponse. This object contains all the data I need over all the application. What I do now, I write this object to a text file (i serialize my object and save it as a file with ObjectOutputStream) and in every activity I read this file. But this file is pretty long and it takes a while to read it. And i have to use and read this object in every activity! Isn't there a better way to do this? I cannot save this file in a database because the structure is to complex.
