General :: How To Sync Music Artwork
Jan 24, 2012
I moved over all my music into the local music folder on the hard drive of the phone. As always, when I listen to local MP3's it plays the song, but it never loads the album artwork because I got these MP3's from various sources.
I was wondering if there is some kind of application that will scan my music folder, attempt to recognize my songs and their metadata, and sync that metadata with album artwork to the files so that they show up in my music player app.

My music library lacks decent album arts, and I was wondering if there is any way of getting rid of the full screen album art on the lockscreen and instead just having my regular wallpaper?

when I play a song I don't get any album artwork. Is there a secret to this or does the default player not support this. The art work shows up in Itunes. Anyone know of any music app that is better than the stock one?

This is my second DX as my first was acting up and I remember that on my first DX all I did was drag the song title into the DCIM folder and everything would appear, music and artwork. On my second DX I did the same thing but no artwork this time around.I have lots of music and it would be nice to have the artwork come up

I purchased a Nexus One a couple of months ago and I am happy to say I feel like I made the right decision. The music player I wasn't to impressed with though so I downloaded Mixzing. I love the app, it works great and is very smooth. But I was wondering how can I get album artwork into this app.

I put a lot of effort into making sure all of my album covers are high resolution good looking ones, however not a single one of my Android devices has EVER displayed the full res artwork, this became more frustrating because I got an iPad 3 on the cheap (I would not have gotten one otherwise) and when I saw how good the artwork looks there.
The problem is even worse when I use my Touchpad, Is there a workaround to stop this from happening?
These are the devices I've had so far have been:
Galaxy Spica->Captivate->AT&T SGS2 (None of them display the high res artwork in the stock firmware nor do they do it under any ROM)
HP Touchpad and my Nexus 10 is on the way (The same issue is present in the Nexus)
All the music players either don't show the artwork or downscale it one way or another (Even PowerAmp does this, it just isn't as noticeable because it makes the displayed art really small) thus resulting in a terrible user experience, I've looked for solutions countless times but I've never found a way around it.
I'd a attach a screenshot of my TP but the size of the file is larger than 256kb which seems to be the limit for pngs.

This has been a problem since google music first became available. It only seems to sync one way (desktop to cloud). If I delete a song in my music folder it remains in Google music. Same happens if I edit a songs tags. Is there any way to get it to sync both ways. The desktop program says it's "monitoring" my music folder so why is it not deleting songs out of the cloud when I delete them from my desktop?

I have used winamp, mediaGO, a couple of Android PC suites and the basic copy and paste my files directly into the phone.
I keep on getting an error, is it something to do with the ICS update???(I have a Xperia Ray)
I got this phone about a month ago, I put 3 albums off of my music library onto the phone and no error appeared, I then got myself a new micro SD card and then realized that ICS had been released for my phone. After the update I was unable to sync music to my phone

I am starting to use my Asus Prime (with Android 4.0.3) to listen to music, and for that I am trying to use and sync it with my PC music library, as I always did with my other player (Samsung P3), but I face some difficulties.
Global context : So, the source is my PC, on which I have all my music in FLAC (ripped all my CD some time ago).
I have Mediamonkey gold, updated latest version. When I plug my prime, two devices (MTP) are detected :
#1- Prime internal storage
#2- Prime MicroSD
I want to put all my music on #2, in a /Music folder, and convert it in ogg on the fly during the sync. To do so, I create a playlist in MM, and in the Sync properties of #2, I set the conversion choice, choose the playlist, and set the directory to use.
Situation:
- first, when I launch the sync, no matter if I have already music from a previous sync or not, it started re-writing ALL the music files on the prime (even if there are only 2 or 3 new files in the source playlist). As I sync more than 1000 music, this takes hours...
- then, for some reason I can't tell, it seems the sync is stopped at some point, because not all the music are then on the prime...only ~25%. As I launch the sync during the night (because it is very long), I don't see it happen. When I arrive in the morning, MM seems OK, the prime as well. Once I had a MM message telling that it could not write a few files (but only around 50... not 500...) and it does not tell why....
So you see my issues...
-It takes for ages because it does not seem to see the deltas in the playlist...
-It stops at some point, so I don't have all the music I wish...

I own a Samsung Galaxy S4 and a Galaxy Tab 3. I want all of the music from my phone to automatically sync with my tablet. I download to my phone directly and don't want to transfer everything manually each time I download a new song.
I see that Google Music can do this but it's designed for music that is stored on a laptop/pc. I'd rather not do it this way if possible as the whole reason I bought the tablet was to avoid carrying the laptop around.
note that the music is stored on the SD Card and not the handset. Not sure it will make a big difference but I thought I would point it out.

Im looking for a desktop media library/music player that allows a random song sync with android. I also want to limit the amount of memory it fills. For instance i want to set it to sync random songs out of my library to fill a max of 3gb.
Ive tried winamp but for some reason it only wants to sync full albums rather than individual songs, despite making sure the option is unticked under autofill options.

I have a LG Optimus Dynamic LG-L38C. I have been going thru some of my old music cd's and I want to put some songs on my phone. I would like to put the music on my SD Micro card, so I don't know if I can do it with the SD Card in the phone or if I need to put it in the SD Card reader to sync the music to it..
Also, I have some pictures that are saved on flash drives. Is there a certain way on coping them from the flash drive to either my phone or to a disc or dvd so each picture will still show the date of when the pic was taken. I have some pictures in a folder and some pictures that were just copied without being in a folder,, which I want to put all of them in a folder at some point in time. I was gona make my mom a copy of some of the grandkids pics that are on the flash drive and she don't have a computer so she can only watch them in her DVD player that is built into her tv.
I tried coping some before and some of the pictures were different sizes when she went to look at them on her tv. Then I took her cell phone to CVS and they somehow hooked it to there machine and made her a copy on a cd and they all showed up the same size. I would like to learn to be able to do this by learning how to transfer them to surprise her with some more pics I found that she would like to have. But I have to look on line to see how to do it the correct way so they all show up the same size. Also, there will be more pictures as the kids grow that I will need to add to the disc I make her, I was wondering If using a blank DVD would be better to copy the pictures I was doing for her on that if it would hold more pics..

I just got the Razr Maxx. I am a mac user, and am looking for a way to consistently and conveniently transfer my iTunes PLAYLISTS to my Razr. I know transfering the music itself will not be a problem, the issue is synching the actual play lists.

got a Samsung Galaxy S4 (for several years I had iPhones) and I am enjoying it. Now that I have gotten all my music files away from iTunes' clunky clutches I have reorganized them and they are on my S4's sim card and it works great.
The issue is that I have updated a few of the files and moved a couple more around. I want to update those music files on my S4 from my PC. I could just delete the Music folder on the S4 and recopy everything over, but that seems to be a huge overkill.
What is a good way to compare files between my S4 and folders on the PC and match/update between the two? I am using Windows 7. I have tried to map the Sim Card as a drive but couldn't get that to work. I have Kies from Samsung but that is kinda clunky. I have also tried AirDroid (which I think is great) but I can't really sync files with that. Normally I would use a Windows application like Beyond Compare or WinMerge to do something like this.

Has anyone got a good source for icons that can be used in an application?
I'm thinking of things like pushpins, scope sights, house, car, shop, and other small graphics you might overlay on a map or picture.
Most people just rip them off from the web, but I'm looking for an honest source.
A while ago, I found a website marketplace where you could commission stuff from graphic artists. Does anyone have any links for these? The sort of thing I mean is like this: http://www.graphicster.com/Default.aspx (But those guys haven't got critical mass yet). Or these guys http://www.crowdspring.com/how-it-works/ (but they seem a bit high end).

I was wondering what the easiest way to add album artwork for my songs was? Yesterday I did it by clicking each individual song in my folder through usb connection, which would then open up in iTunes where I edited each song and dragged the artwork in it. Although this worked, some album art looks blurry on the phone when I play the song and it did take quite some time through this process. Second, has anyone noticed the new Swype that came with the recent phone update is bad? Now it's hardly lenient on your tracing path and you pretty much have to trace it perfectly and slow to get the word. Also, is there a way to get rid of the dialog box that pops up when it says for example, "the word 'dude' is hidden by the word 'dide', to delete 'dide' do such and such"? It's getting really annoying popping up after many words in the same paragraph.

I've been using a couple of different methods recently trying to sync music on my desire, nothing has worked properly for me, windows media player, itunes sync, doubletwist and even htc sync 3.0 wont do the job.I was using album artwork grabber then to get missing artwork. So i deleted all my music from my desire and started from scratch and just dragged and dropped all the music files to it.This is working great except loads of my album artwork has been mislabelled with a completly different one. Every song has artwork, there is none with the default green logo which used to be there before I'm certain on these songs. But now they all have this other album cover, it's like it's replaced the default music icon cover.I tried clearing the media application data and it rebuilt the library, but it's still the same.

I'm yet to get an HD but am 99% convinced....just doing a little research into things that might be deal-breakers.
With regard to getting music and video onto the device, what's the best/easiest/recommended way?
Does it come with some sort of media sync app?
I personally use an ipod at the moment, synced to my music player in Ubuntu. This is one of the main reasons that I don't want an iphone - being tied to windows as a pc user.
Is it just a case of drag-and-drop, or can playlists be created and synced?
Also, does it support podcast subscription, management and download in the same way that itunes does, for example?
