I got my wife a G2 to replace her iPhone 5c about 6 weeks ago. I shut off imessage and she had been getting texts from iPhone users just fine until a week ago. All of the sudden people worth iPhones were not able to send her texts anymore because they were going as imessages. These are people who had been successfully texting her for over a month after the switch.

My girlfriend has a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III and her of friends have iPhones. They are all in a group chat together and the problem is, when my girlfriend receives messages as part of the group chat, she has to actually download them as if they were picture messages. That obviously uses up a lot of data and it gets very frustrating after a while. So how can she get her phone to receive messages normally just like every other recipient in the group chat does, so that she doesn't have to download all of them which not only is very tedious, but highly data-consuming.

I have tried both the stock messaging app and SMS go, and both fail miserably when receiving and sending texts that are in a group thread, I receive them all separately and send them all separately. Is there an app to do this?

I just bought a Galaxy S3 this morning (first Android phone ever!) and for some reason, I haven't been able to send/receive any pictures to/from any of my friends who has an iPhone. I went into At&t earlier tonight and several people without iPhones sent me pictures and received pictures from me with no problems, but everyone with an iPhone couldn't receive my pictures. The techs there told me to try and use the lowest camera resolution and I was able to get one picture to send but still wasn't able to receive any pictures.

1) Comes through multiple times (this happens with AT&T iPhones)
Or
2) Comes through chopped up into individual messages that are also displayed out of order (usually from Verizon iPhones)
I have a screenshot of issue No. 2 but the AC app is not letting me upload it for some reason (never had an issue before) and I can't get the link to work from the desktop (grrr)
Are these issues because of iMessage and what looks like its inability to play well with anything non-Apple? LG-E970
On iPhones the notification is center of the screen in a big graphic. On my LG2 all I get is some tiny icon in the notification bar. Also on teh iPhone the lock screen wakes up to show the voicemail prompt/graphic. On the LG2 teh screen is still dark. So unless I turn on my lock screen, I never know I have a v-mail.

I know u can hold down the home buttom and drag down the bar on top bar but that takes u to the music app which is kinda annoying. Is there a way o get it like the iphones?

The I phone has better games i.e. Iron-man, you can easily download movies to it through I tunes, it has the big hitters in the comic industry DC and Marvel the list just goes on and on. Is it that the Droids technology is just inferior to the I phones?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI can send mms to my friends on at&t that DON'T have iphones, they get them just fine. however, EVERYONE I've tried to send an mms to that has an iphone, it never gets through. this is using chomp for the most part, but I've also tried it with the stock messaging app (the girl i sent the message to using the stock messaging app got it once, but I've tried it at least 100 times over the past few days trying to figure out the issue.and she's gotten a message ONCE).regular SMS texts go through fine, and i can receive from iphones just fine.

incredible mms to at&t non-iphone --> works fine . incredible mms to at&t iphone --> does not work
at&t iphone mms to incredible --> works fine . at&t non-iphone mms to incredible --> works fine
anyone else seeing this?
I have not been able to send or receive MMS to or from my friends who have IPhones. Every other carrier currently works but I can't get IPhone to work. Any suggestions?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an htc evo and I am not able to send video mms to iphone users. I tried changing the quality of my videos to the lowest setting to see if that would work. It doesn't. The videos I would try sending would be less than 10 seconds long. The message I would receive is "The receiving service provider for xxx-xxx-xxxx has a size limit for picture/video. Your message may not be received." A few of the individuals say that they are able to receive video messages and have no issues. What gives?

I have tried six different users (two being mine and my wifes 3gs') and not one successful attempt. I also cannot send text using most of the secondary characters on the number/symbol keyboard, such as the degree symbol. If there are any of the secondary characters, the recipient gets nothing on their end. It's like I never sent it.

When one particular contact of mine sends me a text I will receive an old text instead. Sometimes from that conversation, that day or it may be even older than that. Usually I receive the new text they sent me at some point later but not always. The contact is on the same carrier (Verizon) and using an iPhone 4. I should add that this was also happening on my Motorola Razr (same particular contact). The Razr was rooted and had a new ROM as well, but I believe it also did it when I went back to the stock ROM.
Does this sound like and issue with my friend's phone or mine? Her phone does not do this with any other person but me. And mine doesn't do it with any other person than her.
It happens when using stock messaging or Handcent.
just about 3 weeks ago I went from an iphone 4s to the Galaxy S4, and literally up until a couple days ago everything has been going smoothly. Even texting. But recently , texts from an important number (a number that used to have no problem coming through) are not coming through. So I found since the other phone is an iOS device, and my previous phone was iOS, I had to turn off my iMessage and disassociate my Apple ID from my iphone. I did both of these things, but now this number that is trying to text me is saying the texts won't even send.

The weird thing is that I can send texts through Google Hangouts app, but not the android messaging app.
I'm not receiving any texts from a friend of mine. We were just chatting and realized we haven't been responding to each other because I'm not getting her texts! We both have Verizon.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI flashed a rom to test for somebody, but it's not too stable, I started a few texting conversations and some good byes to friends, I really want to go back to the stable version before tomorrow so I'll have a stable phone to use for my first day of college. What if my phone was supposed to receive a text during the time I'm in recovery or fastboot mode? Will I get the text right after I boot up into a rom for the first time or will I just not get it? I don't want to bring anything up about Android ROM flashing and all that, they won't have a clue about what I'm saying...
View 3 Replies View RelatedThere's actually a phone made by Fujitsu that's similar in that it can be booted into the full desktop windows 7 32 bit by the switch of a button. The downside I see to it is that when you are running it the phones radio is turned off so you can't receive calls or texts also the phone UI is some proprietary Fujitsu software. With that phone connected to my Exchange server I would receive my text messages in Outlook 2010 and could reply to them, which would send the reply through my phone. With Android I'm still receiving the text messages in Outlook but I'm unable to reply, I get a message that I need to set up an SMS service. Any way for me to get the functionality I had with Windows Mobile in Android?

Most of my friends have iPhones and when they send a group text message it shows up as a blank message for me. I downloaded Go SMS Pro and it still doesn't work in there. I don't want any app that would give me a new number. BTW, I receive group texts from those of my friends that have Windows phones just fine.

I have a question which maybe is me doing something wrong. My texts come through the Google hangout app which is good and of course I can reply but it does something weird. When I reply to a text it automatically says not sent and do I want to resend. It does this even if I have a full 3G signal. When I press resend it flies through and sends it straight away. This is fine but the issue is that it's sending messages twice so the recepicant gets 2 texts off me the same??
