General :: Damaged Ext4 MicroSD CARD / Undetected On Windows
Jan 25, 2014my android phone is Alps MITOT300.I tried to format my mini sdcard to ext4 type using MiniTools Partition Wizard on windows 7 , but when I put it back to my smartphone it keep saying "Damaged SD Card" , I format it using different phone but it keep saying the same thing over and over ...
The real problem is , it doesn't detected on my Windows (even using MiniTools Partition Wizard) , some Forum says to format it on PC , but how could I format it if my micro Sd card undetectable on my PC ?
Conclusion :
- Micro Sd Card Fully formated to Ext4 using MiniTools Partition Wizard
- Keep saying "Damaged SD Card" on many Different Android Smartphone
- microSD Card is Undetectable on windows 7 (using Card Reader or USB Cable)

May 31, 2012I've followed so many guides. [URL] ..... (this is one I've used of many)
It seems that, whenever I'm done formatting in GParted the microSD card is unaccesable through windows and thus I cannot place a new ROM to install on my SD Card.

Nov 24, 2012There are no options in the settings to format the sd card, just mounting and unmounting as well as total space etc. I am running ICS 4.0.4 and am not rooted ! Also, I was not sure if the settings were created by LG because they are different from the other versions I have seen.

Jul 4, 2010I've tried re-adding the songs twice now and every time it deletes a BUNCH of the songs. The only place I've noticed this was with Cascada. I have about 40 songs of hers that I tried to add and when I disconnect the phone from my computer and view the Music list, it only has 3, the same 3 every time. I'm putting the files on my SD card in MP3 > Cascada in their separate album folders. It keeps the folders and AlbumArt.jpg files but deletes the songs! Why is it doing this?

Nov 28, 2009So my I randomly got a notification tonight saying my SD card was corrupted. My Eris told me I had to format it, so I tried through my phone, and nothing happened. When I connected it to the computer, I tried formatting it through there and when I click on format (Using Windows 7 32-bit), it tells me there is no drive at drive F: Does anyone have any ideas? I used to have a microSD converter so I could use it in a card reader but I don't know where its gone too, and don't know if it would help anyways.

Sep 10, 2010The SD card on my samsung fascinate worked fined until I tried to save a sound from a mms. Then my fascinate starting slowing down... until i removed the sd card. Then the phone ran fine.The problem I have is that I tried to format the sd card both by phone, and by computer. However the phone would freeze up if I insert the card, and my computer is unable to format the card. I tried going to controlpanel//administrative tools/computer management -> disk management, but it was unable to format the card.I even tried downloading something called an "sd formatter" however it appears as though my card is "not supported". Does anyone have a solution on how to return it back to normal? It appears as though normal formatting methods are not working.The card came with the fascinate 16gb, class 2 if that helps at all.

May 6, 2012Basically, it's a permissions problem. I've tried using Permissions fix on CWM but with no luck. As FAT doesn't have a permissions subsystem, seems like there is no problem with it, but as EXT4 has it, everytime the phone creates a new file/folder, it cannot read its own file.
Although I can connect and see the files on the computer, they're marked with a padlock. It means I don't have permission to access it.
I can regain access to the file and the phone can read it back again, but it's a pain in the place if everytime the phone creates a file, I have to put it back to the computer and redo the permissions sets. It can't even view it's own files. I've already tried to set the SD card root permission to myself, and with everyone capable of read/write access. But unfortunately, newly created folders aren't affected by this.
As far as it looks like, it creates a 'user' for every app that makes the file.
For example, the folders on that picture were created by the camera software, so the user of both is "10041 - user #10041". It has R/W access, but nobody else has access to even see what's inside.
I really enjoyed the transfer speeds with EXT4 (I'm on Ubuntu 12.04), even inside the phone and outside, using USB cable and apps feels snappier. I don't want to go back to FAT32..
I'm using a Motorola Atrix 4G and Morrisoft CM7 latest buid (Custom ROM).
Just to clear things up: Device CAN read and write files under EXT4, but it trips on its own tail by settings permissions badly.
General :: How To Read / Write Ext3 File System Image In Ubuntu
Feb 18, 2012I developed a cramfs rom for the np7 after user dochoppy found root for the nextbook premium 7 tablet, but he then converted to ext3 which because its packed with features will be more popular. So I am trying to edit his ext3 rom in Ubuntu 11.10 and here is what I do:
1. Copy and paste system.img to desktop
2. Create a folder called system on desktop
3. In command prompt:
cd ~/Desktop
Sudo mount -t ext3 -o loop system.img system
(Asks for pw)
4. Doc said something about only being able to edit as root, so after some Googling I find out how to create a program that grants root.
5. (Open "run as" program) then I type "nautilus /home"
(Asks for pw)
6. Navigate to mounted system and I have read/write privileges (but only in this window)
7. View the system mount properties, and it says I have 14.2 mb free space on device
8. Delete files throughout the system folder to make room (but when I refresh properties, free space increase doesn't show)
9. Try to add my own files after deleting some others, ans rather than using the increased space, it just fills the fourteen megs before telling me "device is out of memory "
why is the system not physically making the proper system increase and decreases.
General :: Changing Ext4 Partition To Swap Without Having To Format Entire SDCard?
Apr 27, 2013One of devs from my device had told us that he'll move system and data images from sdcard to SD ext, but actually he left before doing this so now I'm stuck with useless 5gb ext4 partition on my scard. I'd format it and then change partitions if my sdcard wouldn't be filled with over 20GB of various files. Is it possible to change the size of the second partition to about 500 MB and turn it from ext4 to swap without formatting entire sdcard?
