Jan 25, 2014my android phone is Alps MITOT300.I tried to format my mini sdcard to ext4 type using MiniTools Partition Wizard on windows 7 , but when I put it back to my smartphone it keep saying "Damaged SD Card" , I format it using different phone but it keep saying the same thing over and over ...
The real problem is , it doesn't detected on my Windows (even using MiniTools Partition Wizard) , some Forum says to format it on PC , but how could I format it if my micro Sd card undetectable on my PC ?
Conclusion :
- Micro Sd Card Fully formated to Ext4 using MiniTools Partition Wizard
- Keep saying "Damaged SD Card" on many Different Android Smartphone
- microSD Card is Undetectable on windows 7 (using Card Reader or USB Cable)

May 3, 2014I have an apk that I'd like to edit, just some simple icon and xml changes. I have decompiled, edited and signed with apktool so I'm confident everything there is ok. Only problem is, it won't install.
The apk does have a odex file with it. Is it possible to edit this apk or am I wasting my time?

So i think of something like this

i want it to edit like this "text here 3"
Change only the number. or replace the hole line with a new line where i only changed the number. btw the best is if the script can change a line and not find text and change. Because the number in the text i want to change can vary from different numbers.
P.S i can use root explorer and open the file with a text editor and change it, this works but takes forever P.S.S i got root

Apr 28, 2012I am running some more tests and decided to take a different path for dual boot (for testing anyway, still gonna give it a go with bmp)... so to make a long story short, how do I edit the .bct file that comes with the nvflash zip??? I can edit the .cfg just fine but when I add my secondary partitions at the end of the line up and before UDB, the g2x doesnt seem to boot, like it just stays at the first lg logo and goes no further. I need access to the file to make it kick over. I think. Ive not been able to find out how to edit the file.. although I've not looked 110% as I usually do..
I am not even sure if I've named them right.. but hte way I see it they are all 3 characters in length.. so ive made the secondaries called APS, CAS, & UDS.. that also maybe my issue. but none the less ive attached a screen cap to show they were made and where they fall in the lineup.

The system works just fine after a fresh reboot of my PC. After a few hours, I get the "Login Fails" error (plain text or SMB). The only way to fix it is to reboot my PC. I believe its a Windows 7 setting that causing this. I searched all over the net for a fix and none of them worked. I tried:
Enabling Guest Account
Changed Advanced Sharing Settings
Set "Everyone" as read in the File Share Window
Enabled Inbound/Outbound rules in the Advanced Windows Firewall
Enabled sending unencrypted passwords to SMB via Local Security Policy
I can go into more detail of the fixes I tried if needed. What is an alternative to sharing files from a Windows 7 machine to Android devices? I feel like Ill never get ES File Explorer to work.

I have no modem to connect my pc and and phone together, because i use phone's internet connection on my pc, so i don't need a modem. Because of this, i can't find my way to reach files on my computer using my phone. I set a wireless network on my pc, but android phones does not find the network i created ( i thing something with b/g/n ). Is there any way possible?

General :: Using EXT4 Partition Makes Folder Permissions Unable To R / W
May 6, 2012Basically, it's a permissions problem. I've tried using Permissions fix on CWM but with no luck. As FAT doesn't have a permissions subsystem, seems like there is no problem with it, but as EXT4 has it, everytime the phone creates a new file/folder, it cannot read its own file.
Although I can connect and see the files on the computer, they're marked with a padlock. It means I don't have permission to access it.
I can regain access to the file and the phone can read it back again, but it's a pain in the place if everytime the phone creates a file, I have to put it back to the computer and redo the permissions sets. It can't even view it's own files. I've already tried to set the SD card root permission to myself, and with everyone capable of read/write access. But unfortunately, newly created folders aren't affected by this.
As far as it looks like, it creates a 'user' for every app that makes the file.
For example, the folders on that picture were created by the camera software, so the user of both is "10041 - user #10041". It has R/W access, but nobody else has access to even see what's inside.
I really enjoyed the transfer speeds with EXT4 (I'm on Ubuntu 12.04), even inside the phone and outside, using USB cable and apps feels snappier. I don't want to go back to FAT32..
I'm using a Motorola Atrix 4G and Morrisoft CM7 latest buid (Custom ROM).
Just to clear things up: Device CAN read and write files under EXT4, but it trips on its own tail by settings permissions badly.

Mar 15, 2013Ive hooked my phone up to my pc so many times without error when I had Windows on my PC...and used ODIN to flash back to stock after a mishap.... I cant even count.. within last two weeks Ive moved to ubuntu instead of windows..I set up everything on my phone on ubuntu..sdk and everything...so Ive been building a rom for the fassy and i was testing something I made and something went wrong..so I now have no recovery..no way to get my phone back..Im up and running on the rom but it will not due ( no gaaps ) . So when i plug my phone into a windows pc it will not recognize it for ODIN...in device manager it labelled as " Linux file-cd gadget USB device" and cant install the driver to use ODIN.

Apr 27, 2013One of devs from my device had told us that he'll move system and data images from sdcard to SD ext, but actually he left before doing this so now I'm stuck with useless 5gb ext4 partition on my scard. I'd format it and then change partitions if my sdcard wouldn't be filled with over 20GB of various files. Is it possible to change the size of the second partition to about 500 MB and turn it from ext4 to swap without formatting entire sdcard?

I manage to edit my android's /etc/hosts file. Here's what I did:
1. Create an Android Virtual Device (AVD)
2. Open the AVD with this command

3. Execute the following commands

4. Get the android hosts file

./adb pull /etc/hosts
5. Add my mobile website into the android's hosts file. It looks like the following

127.0.0.1 localhost
172.19.14.46 m.myweb.localhost
6. Push the hosts file to the simulator

./adb push hosts /etc/hosts
7. Open the web mobile in the simulator and Host do not found. The web mobile should appear.
Btw I use Ubuntu 10.10 and android-sdk_r08-linux_86 API 7 (Android SDK 2.1)

Now a strange thing is occurring. I installed an off market app, but I can only see its folder in Android's File Manager, not in Windows XP.
