Jun 14, 2010Here is something interesting about the Milestone. Enable Airplane mode, put it on the charger over night. Wake up to find your Milestone drained. This happens with my Blackberry Curve as well. Airplane mode drains the battery faster than its being charged. Has anyone else seen this? Or am i just getting lucky twice?

General :: Battery Meter Bug During Charge Makes Phone Think Battery Is Dead
Nov 9, 2013I have a sprint GNex. I just started having this problem recently (but before the 4.3 update). I plug my phone in overnight and at some point in the middle of the night an error occurs that make the phone think it is off the charger and has a fully depleted battery. The battery level icon shows no charge and if I pull the phone off the charger it immediately says it has to shut down due to a low battery. However, as soon as I turn it back on it is back to normal with a full charge.

my current absolution rom is a backup. i had 3 different roms before restoring this rom. should i have done a full wipe besfore restoring the rom?

May 23, 2014I have a hdc mtk 6572 and I recently bought the battery from the original s4 in Phonehouse, the problem I have is that the phone is not charging the battery to 100% bone phone reaches 100% charge but really this half of its capacity because when the phone is 100% you remove the battery and put it into a unique and puts s4 having 50%.
What I have tried is to remove the battery batterystats.bin being 100% real (loaded with original s4) I have also tried an app which detects that the battery is 1000mAh (in the original 2600mAh s4 the detected so is no battery problem) this app it says you can modify the kernel mAh (which I do not think). The application is Battery Monitor Widget Pro
To summarize a bit, the phone does not detect the original 2600mAh battery so no load to 100%.
General :: Battery Won't Charge Past 0% ON Or OFF And Now Won't Turn On
Jan 15, 2014I just restored my factory image with Android 4.4.2 and then flashed Cataclysm ROM and just a few moments ago I was setting everything up and then started messing with AdAway. I was having trouble with applying the host file but got it working by turning on ADB in developer options. When I rebooted for about the 2nd time the battery started to not go above 0% (it recently shut off right as it was applying a host file)... I got it back on and it wouldn't go above 0%. I took off the charger for a second and it shut off right away after it was on the charger for about 5-10 minutes. Now the red light is blinking while its off and charging but I can't get it to turn on, even when taking out the charger and making the red light go off. I haven't tried rebooting into bootloader yet, and right now it's just sitting on the charger with the red light blinking.
UPDATE: I got it ON, but it won't charge past 0% and right when I take it off the charger it is going to shut off. Should I delete the battery stats file? If so, where is it?
General :: How To Prevent Battery From Getting Full Charge
Aug 24, 2012This question seems a little (a lot) odd. because naturally we want our battery to get fully charged to get the most stamina out of it.
but i read a while ago that for Li-Io batteries the most efficient charge range are 10%-90% so basically that means the full charge -discharge cycles aren't good for the battery but harmful as it cause them to die faster..
anyway i considered this reading as a good theory until i bought a sony vaio laptop which had a battery preservation feature (it limits the maximal charge to 80% or 50% depending on the option) and for more that a year and a half my battery still performed well (less than 4% degradation) so i thought this was a real deal after all.
still the use cases for a laptop and smartphone are vastly different (the laptop can sit with 50% charge just fine since it will be on charge most of the time while the smartphone has to get the maximum amount of energy to last without a charger)
so is there (or can it be made) an app that can limit the charge (to 80% or 90%)

Aug 14, 2013My Note 2 stopped connecting to charger and PC last week. It eventually died. I have since tried another charged battery from my sisters phone and it still will not turn on. The initial start-up "Galaxy" logo appears, but doesn't go further than that. All functions seemed fine until battery initially drained after day two without charging. The data storage was at it's limit at the time too.

They checked it out, downloaded a battery saver app and sent me on my way stating my phone was no longer under warranty. Then my phone would not hold any charge, I again went to the Verizon store and was told there was nothing they could do. I went to Battery Warehouse to see if they could change the battery, they could not. So, I decided, since it was out of warranty I would removed the battery myself and see if I could order a new one. Well that was another problem because noone knows how to reinstall a battery once you open the back and take it out. So now I am going to activate my Droid 3 and use it until I update to an Iphone in August.

May 17, 2014I'm really not "using" my Android S3 phone all day long, it gets frustrating when the bettery runs at 30% at 2pm, without any real use.
So the concept would be:
1) either a "ROM" of Android, which would be seriously minimal - like the device is not a smartphone - so only wake up on incoming call or text message
2) or an app, which does the same thing - suspends the phone completely, and wakes it up only on the incoming call or text message
I was just curious - does something like this exist? I don't care about apps, notifications, wifi or sync, I was thinking more along the lines of would it be possible to use your smartphone like a typical "cell phone", and when you need other apps or full features (GPS navigation with maps, or Shazam, or whatever it is you need) - you just "reboot" or do a quick switch to "full Android" mode, and use those features.
I feel that the battery life should be at least 5 days in that mode, with light usage?

Oct 14, 2013my Samsung s2 on jelly bean 4.1.2 drains battery alot while even in off mode not only that, whenever I press the switch off key the phone won't give me various options of restart, flight mode , sound mode and the likes, the phone will just go into off mode directly.

Sep 24, 2010Many of us have experienced some battery life fall out since the last update. I mentioned this in the battery life thread but I thought it deserved it own topic. I have an app that I downloaded called battery status. it has a battery history. and it says time without sleeping 7h 10m 25s ago. Thats exactally when I unplugged my phone. This explains why I am seeing 2-3% per hour loss while not using the phone and while in airplane mode. Before the update I could keep the phone in airplane mode, not usre it, and leave work with over 94% battery life. So this proves that somehow the phone is not going into sleep mode... I can guarantee that everyone else in that is experiencing battery drain since the sept 16th update is due to this reason. The question is... why the hell is this happening and why won't the phone go into sleep mode?

Aug 10, 2013Every time I let my SIIX batt die the phone states "downloading packages" and "entering store mode". A picture of an android shows up, the only way for me to get my phone to work again is by doing the following:
-Plug the phone in and let it charge a bit
-Unplug the phone from the charger and take the batt out
-Put the batt back in making sure it stays unplugged from charger otherwise it goes back into store mode
Only then will my phone go back to normal and charge....
