i recently noticed that if i recieve an email with an requested read confirmation on my exchange profile, the phone sends this confirmation without asking me.is there a way to disable this behavior?I'm using exchange push on the stock android email app.

I just keep seeing it pop up here and there. I removed mine and it started getting my mail every 5 min just like I told it to. Dang I love this phone!

I have set up the Internet carrier APNs (HSDPA, EDGE, 3G etc) and I wonder if it is possible that Android asks me for confirmation when connecting to one? I don't like the idea of changing the APN name to cheat/workaround it (to make it impossible to connect by setting up non-existing APN), I like to see what connection possibilities are around me. When I'm at home I have a WiFi and also would like to be sure the whole transfer is being done by WiFi, not EDGE. With each connection request confirmation I'd be sure I have it under control.

I own a Samsung Galaxy SII Skyrocket on AT&T's GO Phone network and I haven't been able to receive confirmation texts from apps and businesses that require phone number verification (Uber, Facebook, Twitter, ect.) Specifically, what I'm doing is forwarding MMS pictures sent to my phone to my email. Its doable, I know the basic process. Unfortunately I have to do this manually every time. As there are a lot of pictures that must be forwarded every day... I am looking for something that, when an MMS is recieved, automatically forwards it to my email, or even just another phone number. On the iPhone, there is an option to automatically enhance a photo after clicking on it in the gallery, and it will fix red-eye, colours, brightness and contrast. The reason is this: my father has problems with his phone but has no technological knowledge. I'm testing a hybrid phone/scanner that came from China and I noticed the time was wrong on it (we don't use the phone part), so I went into time settings and it was set to automatic date & time and timezone, but when I turned off automatic timezone it said it was still China even though I've been using the device for a week. When I look up our IP on the web it says it's in the US in the correct state so I don't understand why Android is not locating the phone by IP.
I've noticed on other Android phones the time randomly goes incorrect when off cell service (like on my old Droid 2 or Galaxy Tab which I keep the cell service off for), so this appears to be a bug in Android. Is there a way I can smack the phone so it does it automatically or do I always have to expect Google not to do this right and make me have to manually set the timezone (and sometimes the time)?
I've read online that Google maps has a feature that allows for automatic screen dimming when using Google maps. However, I can't find the setting. Has it been removed?

I'm currently building a custom ROM based on android 4.1.2 and I am having two questions:
1. In Settings -> Display -> Brightness there is no checkbox for automatic screen brightness. Can this feature be added (the check box to turn on/off the automatic brightness)?
2. When I activate the automatic screen brightness (using notification bar toggle) and the battery drains under 15% the brightness is setted to maximum and the Brightness page in settings can't be used, is there a way to fix this?
I've installed the CM 9 last week and this is working fine, but wen i take a picture my camera doesn't get automatically focus, i have to touch the screen on the place i wat to focus before taking pictures....is there any configuration where i can put my automatic focus back?
This is important to me because i use my camere alot, and touching the screen is a little annoying.Other problem is the panoramic camera that doesen`t work, i have the image on my screen, but when i start taking the picture it says I`m very fast, and then whe i get slow my picture is very, very short.

Question: Is there an option (some keyboard or other method) that if I type two a (aa) and phone automatically transforms it to ā. I found that stock android keyboard has shortcuts, but it doesn't change these phrases - they only show them as suggestion.

Is there an app that can be set to do automatic backups in intervals of less than 1 minute? Is there a reason why there can be no immediate *auto* SMS+ Backup upon sending/receiving, in other words, is there a reason to wait at least one minute before the incoming/outgoing text message is backed up?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMost pdf viewers you can pinch to zoom. That really is not convenient when trying to read something pinching in and out, scrolling, etc. I am looking for a better solution. Most of the stuff I read is almost readable without zooming. I was hoping to find something that when I touch the screen, whatever is under/around my finger, it zooms that in a box. Then I can just keep moving my finger and seeing stuff zoomed and lift my finger to see the whole page.
I'm reading on a 10" tablet.
Anything out there like that or that is more usable for reading pdfs?
Like the title says why are apps allowed to read the contents of files on the SD card without asking permission? Apps have to ask to read SMS, Calendar, and everything else. It seems like a huge security hole to me.
