I know we can use widgets or change the status bar one with UOT, but it seems ludicrous to imagine such a simple feature hasn't become standard. Is there some patent troll that is keeping devices from having the battery percentage in the system bar?

I did a bit of reading and still trying to find all the differences between deodexed roms vs regular roms
So far this is what i have found, if some one can add to this please do
Pros:
enables for more UI customizations(themes, fonts, title bar icons, like battery icons)
Cons:
slower to boot
This is the explanation of deodexed that i found:
"Apk files have respective odexes that devs use to supposedly save space. Deodexing means you convert it back to a .dex file and put it back inside the apk. This allows you to easily replace files (not having to worry about odexes), but the main point was to deodex services.jar so that you can change all text to different colors (such as the clock color to white) and to deodex services.jar, you need to deodex everything. I am using xperia p with stock JB (unrooted). I have to charge it twice a day without even any significant use.
Sometimes battery just drains out by 10% or so with just an eye blink! Battery details showed that it's staying awake (or something is making it stay awake) while in sleep. Tried using BetterBatteryStats to find the draining app. But just 'kworker' and 'admsrv (or something like this)' seemed to be the only problems. Tried flashing and/or factory resetting 5 or 6 times and still no improvement.

I'm using a Note 3 on stock 4.4.2, rooted. tried different battery reading apps (e.g. CurrentWidget) but it always gives me 0mA when charging.
This is unlike my previous S4, where it can give me the precise readings (but of course not as accurate as a real multimeter).

Something is way wrong with the battery meter on the EVO. Is it programmed to only recognized the stock battery? I saw this because when i received my 3500seidio i ran it down, then gassed it up to full(unplug, charge, unplug, charge again ect) Then i even erased the battery stats in recovery
So the meter seemed to be accurate as I drained it again just to see how long the battery would last (got about 10 hours of hard usage, 4G wide open, wifi off, to drain battery). So then i got to charging it back up: In about 32min its at 50%, which i know impossible. Then about 38 more minutes later, it says 100% full (basically 3500mah got charged in lil over an hour?) . Of course too good to be true so i disconnected the charger and 30 seconds later it dropped down to 80% !!!! My point being, if im not there to see it hit 100%(which is when the phone will not charge anymore even tho its on the charger and will use the battery to power phone right?) then I will never be able to get a full charge. LIke why cant the meter simply tell me exactly how much juice is left in the battery? I had the sedio 2600mah for my Pre and next had a meeter problem. This EVO meter is OC! I mean why do i have to let it charge to 100, then disconnect, and keep reconnecting to get it to be a real 100? thats ridicoulous. I thought we would only have to recondition the phone once. I cant do this everything. Somethiing needs to be done
It seems like the only way i can get it to fully charge without the multiple charge, unplug, charge is to turn the phone off, and let it charge for a couple hours or whatever. When it turns green its at like 97% which is good. Because its a true 97 and wont drop down immediately to 80 or something

I was one of those with a "bad" battery. I had the automatic 10% loss of the battery after about 20 minutes of the phone being on. I would barely use my phone during the day (check text messages and email 5 or 6 times and maybe 1 15 minute phone call, and 10-15 minutes of internet browsing) and have the battery down to 20-25% by the time i got home after an 8 hr workday. So I called verizon, explained the problem and they sent me a new stock dinc battery in 2 days. I will say that that when I first got my phone months (as a pre-order), I played with it before fully charging the battery. So maybe I am at fault for making a "bad" battery. No chances this time around. This time i cut the phone off, put the new battery in, and let it charge for a solid 8 hours. All I have to say is WOW. Now i know what it is like to be one of you guys who say "what battery problems?" I worked my 8 hr day, used the phone the same as I usually do and I still have 85% battery left. I never lost that intial 10% of the bat either. I don't know if not charging my battery properly the first time hurt my first battery or if I just had a bad one. But for all of you who get a new dinc, charge the battery right the first time is my advice.

I find my status bar is very cluttered and has some unnecessary icons that I'd rather not have (particularly bluetooth, alarm, and battery [I use Battery Status app]). I found this article on how to remove the stock battery icon but it's designed for the Samsung Moment. Anyone brave enough to try it on their Evo?

This was brought up a lot when the Inc was just released. Everyone pretty much said that we had to wait until we were rooted. But has anyone found a way to add the battery percentage on the stock battery icon at the top? I hate having to install an app and have another battery icon in the notification bar with this.

I'm liking Virtuous, but I much prefer the stock battery widget which just shows a qualitative, graphical battery level. Being aware of the instantaneous percentage of remaining battery at all times makes me properly crazy.

This will replace the stock battery indicator with a circular bar that includes percentage remaining. I flashed this on the DC 3.5 ROM and it works perfectly.

I have for sale:One stock Eris battery, never used, unopened in plastic baggie. $20 shipped. One complete Phantom Skinz full body film for the Eris. This is $17 plus shipping for two now that it's on sale. I'll sell it for $10, shipped.I will say that I really liked the Phantom Skinz on my Eris. The only thing that I didn't like was it eliminated the "soft touch" feel on the back. Other than that, no bubbling, very smooth, did not interfere with the screen and great self-healing.

The stock Android lock screen will display your battery status while your phone is charging; does anyone know how to have it display your current battery status while it is not charging?
This doesn't seems like a super difficult task to accomplish, I'm just unsure where I need to start to get things going. It would be so awesome if someone would actually help me.

Seeing as how the screen seems to have the largest draw on battery life, I've been running the screen brightness at "0", with the native tools. I installed an app called Quick Settings, which decreases brightness by another 10-20%. May not work for some brighter situations, but if you want to have the screen "always on" or know you'll be going hard w/ Facebook, every little bit helps.

I have a sprint GNex. I just started having this problem recently (but before the 4.3 update). I plug my phone in overnight and at some point in the middle of the night an error occurs that make the phone think it is off the charger and has a fully depleted battery. The battery level icon shows no charge and if I pull the phone off the charger it immediately says it has to shut down due to a low battery. However, as soon as I turn it back on it is back to normal with a full charge.

I've noticed that Google maps is always taking up a big portion of the battery in the battery menu. If I freeze it with titanium would that make a significant difference? I use it seldom enough to go thru the trouble of unfreezing it when needed if it's worth it..
